This is actually the Polovtsian Dances from Borodin's Prince Igor. Stranger in Paradise is the song adapted from this melody which became famous through the early 50's Broadway musical Kismet.
This is from the opera "Prince Igor" (Князь Игорь) by A. Borodin. By plot, prince is a captive of Polovtsy when they dance to this music. So, he is indeed a stranger, but eventually he escapes from the paradise...
