If your mainly looking to lose weight than I can understand why your not happy with your results from your Bowflex. The Bowflex mainly builds muscle. If you want to lose weight do some cardio workouts like jogging. Or if you want to really cut down your weight buy Insanity, that will definitely do some work.
I run through cycles as well. Listen to the great advice about cardio as well. Also, there are many different routines to try. I have done the 3 day, the 2 days on/2 off and the circuit training. Look through the manual for some alternatives. Do not start again. It is too overwhelming. You have had great success and you deserve to keep finding more success. Don't quit and don't use the holidays as an excuse! I am rooting for you. I am up to 290 and I will hit that 310 soon.
I am SO proud of you. I think you'd be a terrific spokesperson for Bowflex. You certainly represent a bigger demographic of the US male population than the men they advertize with. You might want to look into cardio exercises to supplement the bow flex. I have been into judo all my life. Began with my daddy back in the day. I've lost 100+ pounds of weight. Keep up the good work, you are VERY cool!
You look great. Try walking three times a week for 30 minutes each time at an exertion level of 7 out of a scale of 1-10.
You have done really well, don't get discouraged. I got ill well into my weight loss, got depressed and gained a ton back, now I am fighting it off again. It's a lifetime thing. There are so many different exercises with the Bowflex that I am sure you can find something to change things up well without going to a different weight routine as some had suggested.
wow you lost alot weight, wow man, hey..have you looked at the Bowflex tred climbers? they are awesome...you should give it a shot.
You are one strong individual to stick with this, its nice to see people who stick with what they like. good man. I ordered myself the 1090 dumbbells cause i just dont have time to get everything in at gym, even when i got 3 times a week;.
lifting helps man, but you need to do more cardio exercise to lose the fat. Ride a bike for a few miles a day on the toughest setting, you will see the pounds drop quick with proper nutrition involved.
Hey Frank. I don't think you need to START OVER. Just stay committed man. Week zero to now you're a way different person. Even if you aren't happy with your progress look at all the people you've inspired. They keep watching and commenting if they weren't inspired. You should start tracking your progress though. Keep us posted on your progress from week to week. Don't worry Frank you look great compared to me. I'm a 5 foot 11 inches 21 year old male who weighs 295 lbs.
Keep up the good work Frank, i'm just getting into week 2 with my bowflex sport. I'm proud of you for sticking with it, i'll admit that I don't exactly get excited to run down to the bowflex. But from your videos I see that it is definitely worth it. Take care and i'll keep tuning in!
Hello Frank. it gets tough, remember, there a lot of unseen people who are pulling for you. I hope that you keep to it. Remember that during stressful times the human body has a tendency to retain weight. It's natural, part of survival mode. Of course there are more important things to consider in life then working out, or losing weight, but remember that you have only one body so you might as well like the one you are in. Hope you are well, and hope to see you next week Hulkster.
Also, brown rice is very healthy and good with the diet so maybe look and into that! Since you're doing the 3 days a week workouts..in between those days eat healthy and try to put in at least half hour of jogging and when you're out walkin around try to give it a little boost it will help trust me! Its the little things that make a difference! And like DRI321 said "stuck to it for 29 weeks" you're definitely going towards something good:)
Frank, look at week ZERO comparing to now! You've morphed man! hahaha!! Aside from your chest developing better figure, your head reallyyy got thinner which I saw after looking back! Honestly, all you have to do is eat a few times a day but smaller meals (aside from your big breakfast) and eat a lot of salad! Try not to intake a lot of sugar...even with coffee! Fish instead of beef/pork and some white chicken breasts is excellent!
hey frank, at least you got into something and have stuck with it for 29 weeks. not everyone can say that, id say that is success. and youve motivated alot of people too. remember to "feel" the resistance, and make slow movements not just throw the weight up. im not trying to be a knowitall.

So did you work out the whole time for these 29 weeks? I just kind of skipped through the videos. Week 6 seemed to be looking good.

Scrap the bowflex and do P90X.
It works way better then the bowflex by a longshot
Davizzle36 3 years ago
P90X is hard ass hell and requires some strong discipline, but i think he can do it, he stuck to bowflex for 28+ weeks.
