are the steps the same if your body is manganese and not plastic? im having a hard time finding a plastic bodied homelite xl 12 or any xl for that matter

What are your dimensions for the top plate? Do you have a set template or do you have to measure it out each time? I am making one of these for Dragoncon and I was hoping to get a leg up on the build.

How did you put the chain back on the chainsaw?

@chickscometome i think i actually glued it on with GOOP (awesome glue!). and zip tied the slack at the hidden end.

What color paint do you use? and also how do you get the splattered look? everytime i use the spray paint it coats funny. is there any certain technique i should try?

@littled0ct0r I actually use Minwax wood finish (red mahogany 225) for the fake blood, mix well, splatter with a brush, then let dry for a long time.

@joslawski Yes some are made of metal some are plastic. Either way I cut it off with a dremel.
