  • Very nice. I am very interested in owning a functional one for demonstration purposes. How much do you think it would be for one?

  • @BackwoodsArsenal about $500.00

  • I would love to just set down and talk to this guy, im a prop designer aswell and i built one a few days ago and id love to talk to you about building sometime

  • pretty damn awesome. of all the build videos i've seen, this is the best.

  • Thumbs up. Great work

  • are the steps the same if your body is manganese and not plastic? im having a hard time finding a plastic bodied homelite xl 12 or any xl for that matter

  • @rawrtigerrawr24 Yes, the steps are the same. obviously it's a little harder to cut but yes

  • Looks almost like Tom Cruise trying to be Ash.

  • @WolfySnackrib666 thanks

  • @franknelson Aye, Tom Cruise and Bruce Campbell are both badass.

  • How long do they take to make usually?

  • @maxwellreddy a few days if i have all the parts

  • @franknelson How do you get the chain like that?

  • If I had my own chainsaw, could I ship it to you to and have you build it for me?

  • @kingrex2005 yes i could do that for you for a small fee...

  • Would u sell them?

  • That would make an awesome Halloween costume part!

  • What are your dimensions for the top plate? Do you have a set template or do you have to measure it out each time? I am making one of these for Dragoncon and I was hoping to get a leg up on the build.

  • How did you put the chain back on the chainsaw?

  • @chickscometome i think i actually glued it on with GOOP (awesome glue!). and zip tied the slack at the hidden end.

  • how much?

  • @guitarguys94 $300

  • @franknelson that seems a little steep justbecause i saw the whole saw for about 40 bucks on ebay, i just dont think that the amount of work is worth an extra 260 bucks, how much woud u charge without paint because that seems to be the most painstaking part of the build

  • A quote from Bruce "Ash has mowed down alot of zombies saved alot of lives, but at the end of the day when push comes to shove, its just too damn heavy."

  • can i buy it?

  • it looks nice but i dont know if i'd want to cut up a real chain saw for one, or condone others in doing so lol plus seems expensive, but it's awesome

  • What color paint do you use? and also how do you get the splattered look? everytime i use the spray paint it coats funny. is there any certain technique i should try?

  • @littled0ct0r I actually use Minwax wood finish (red mahogany 225) for the fake blood, mix well, splatter with a brush, then let dry for a long time.

  • Groovy

  • How do you cut the handle down, the body is made of metal right?

  • @joslawski Yes some are made of metal some are plastic. Either way I cut it off with a dremel.

  • Too bad I don't have the technical know-how or pocket cash to make/buy one of these, it'd be friggin' sweet for a Halloween party.

  • great ending

  • the original chainsaw in evil dead one is homelite xl 12, you can see it on the side when he holds it to his girlfriends neck

  • one question tho ,im building the same chainsaw, but i wanna build a working one, what or where do i put the part thats on the handle or throdle that controls the chainsaw ?
