@timmyers84 That is true but when we impose sanctions on such dictatorships we hurt the poor and middle class the most. Dictators are dictators because they can keep the spoils for themselves. Then any regime can just blame the US for creating the problems and retain the support of the people, prolonging the cycle. Like North Korea for example, I think our threatening presence there ensured the continued existence of the kim ill sung dynasty after the end of the soviet union.
