I am so proud of Brian Wilson. Imagine what the world could be listening to today if he was properly diagnosed 45 years ago? If SMiLE came out back then and inspired a generation along lines of such magnificent excellence? If he was enabled the exercise of the full range his creative powers througout this time? Perhaps God Only Knows. It's good to be alive!
I was in the crowd right at the front for this performance (you can actually see me in part 3 of this video!). I have seen a lot of live music over the years and I can honestly say that this was the most incredible and powerful set I have ever experienced. Unforgettable. Brian is a genius and the band he has with him these days brought the Beach Boys music to life incredibly.
I know everyone thinks this is so cool, but I liked the BB better, Im a Mike Love fan he's always entertaining, I wish they could be at peace and get along...just my opinion
'In my room' is a an extraordinary song, and this live performance , about 40 some years after it was composed and first performed, certainly does it justice and does not emabrass it as I have seen in so much of the older guys doing this material.
i saw the complete band in honolulu in 1978 with all access backstage passes, brian wilson put on a show I'll never ever forget.......he went nuts on bass during "i get around".....backstage his girls carney and wendy sat on my g/f's lap and brian came back and looked at us and said hi to the guy who we were guest of...........we entered the concert hall with the band, walking next to love and jardine, we danced at side stage with michelle phillips it 's one of the very high points of my life
brian was kicked out of the beach boys............in the late 80's ...........that's right he kicked out of his own band..........
so where was the group when brian needed them............brian didn't give a shit........he owns all the music publishing rights , where the non touring money its
brian's band are all people who LOVE the beach boys music and rever b wilson, jeff fosket was instrumental getting him to tour again, I would rather see brian doing beach boys songs than, the cough cough beach boys with mike love and bruce johston nothing against bruce but love is despicable
@wolfmanrick I second those sentiments. There were consequences and lost potential when he lost it. Who knows what music they could have made if they stuck together and were healthy. I'm pissed that I have seen the BBs in concert since the mid 60s...and never saw Brian Wilson. But by watching videos of him returning to the stage with them, I know I didn't miss much.
Brian is back better than ever. Folks if you want to see a Beach Boy concert , Go see BRIAN WILSON the creater. As his brother Dennis once said, Brian is the beach Boys we are just his messengers. quote from Dennis wilson
