  • Thank you for posting this! Everyone focuses so much on the synth sounds of the R3 that I hadn't heard very many of the piano presets before. Also, you are hilarious.

  • Sick vid, you should put up a tutorial on some chords

  • What are you doin' with your woollen cap on?? Do you live in Siberia??

  • Way to go.

  • I want to punch him in the mouth :/

  • @whysdarknesssobad DO IT!

  • I bet 90% of the people werent expecting this dude to play so well before he starts playing :)

  • what's the song youre playing at 2:15??

  • it's a "chullo"!!!!! yeah!!!!!! jajaja

  • youre pretty awesome at that shit hahah

  • hehe, very nice demo, how long have you been playing keys? selfschooled or serious tutored lessons?

  • great playing

  • that was cool

  • can u tell me whats the song in the background in the beginning?

  • how much did this cost?

  • missleading title and a SHITTY demo

  • None of these are even remotely piano sounds.?.

  • lol at your face at 1:05

  • Amazing! well played; where'd you learn to?

  • video is great looking, and background sounds ok, but should have done something better with miking, then would sounded good as looks

  • this or roland sh201?

  • can you edit the presets a lot on this like you can on the microkorg ? i heard its onl limited to what you can edit with each preset, cheers ?

also what do you think between the R3, akai Miniak, Microkorg ?

  • Wow, nice playing. Keep up the good work. I'll be buying an R3 soon.

  • what a dorky amateur!

  • u probably smell bad gingervytis fuck off cunt rag

  • I love your facial expressions! :D

  • really awesome skill man!

  • please song on 2:01

  • man this is a great demo. i have the RADIAS and other than ease of use and more keys, the sounds are pretty much the same. RESPECT XD

  • hey great video man. one question for you, what are you playing this through. I need a good amplifier for this (and my alesis micron), do you recommend an amp or pa system? thanks!

  • what it dookie. You. You are good. I dig this keybohrd

  • you sir, are the fuckin' man. well done.

  • Hot synth, Like your style.

    LEGIT AS FUCK.

  • can you get a normal piano sound out of it?

  • @obie91 Sadly you cannot... unless there is a way of tweaking a preset (e.g. guitar sound) to make it sound like a piano. This is indeed a synth, but limited to modifications based upon the presets.

  • @obie91

have seen a video on youtube to install new patches via Mac and PC so it may be possible that way, not tried it myself yet as still learning to use whats already on it lol

You can obviously control a virtual synth piano sound on your computer with it though through Cubase using usb midi which is one way, or Audio in sound of a piano key wav file maybe?

  • @obie91 It only depends on how clever you are.. Despite BLaznBeBoPkiD's response, you may still be able to make a seminormal piano sound. Hey, they did it on the microKORG. and @ blazn, Epic skillz video :D

  • Awesome man. Truly. have you tried out other synth's?

@123macrk why even bother commenting it then? wouldnt you call THAT retarded?

  • @alexanderlind88 I tried out a number of synths at Guitar Center... But I cannot give you in depth info on many... As for desired playing style, it's really useful to restrict--or group--your choices based upon the action of the keys. (i.e. weighted versus semi-weighted versus hammer action keys etc.) For sound, I prefer analog synths, but I cannot afford them lol.

  • and I should consider "dumnuts" a credible source of information because...?

  • Their effective employment of the english language.

  • What it dookie!!!! LMAO!

  • how do u get that smooth piano sound? nr 3 of the sounds in the video. I have the R3 but i cant get any piano like sound out of it!

  • sorry meant nr. 2

  • haha i am buying it, and i WiLL use it!

  • dude!

    i love your playing!!

  • 1:12 what would that be called? like the song.

  • So, do you attend the University of Jive Talk? What's with the braids? Anyway, thanks for the demo and you got skills.

  • You're good, especially liked 0:25

  • ive been playing keyboard for 6 years but only with the shit yamaha things. i don't kno much about synths but dyu think i shood buy r3?

  • Great video man! You kickass at keys. How'd you learn?

  • your daaaaamn goood dude!

  • that last piano sound the song u played was that frum the theme of a clockwork orange

  • its prob bethoven and i prob spelled it wrong

  • @ThisTownNotMe one more "e" lol

  • haha it looks like it has way more keys from that angle...

  • dont like jazz, but nice skillz

  • And I'm from LA, and out here that shit wont fly! haha

Correction: "MicroKORG " to "KORG R3"

  • I absolutely love the MicroKORG, but....

    "What it dookie?".....

    Come on, man....

    lawlz0zzzzz

  • cmon!!! im from the bay!! :)

  • dude your amazing and beautiful synth :)

  • metete tus melodias de mierda por la raja negro conchatumare!!!!

  • Very entertaining demo, BLaznBeBoPkiD, thanks. I'm picking up an R3 today and look forward to playing the heck out of it!

  • I just bought one early today and I didn't know it could do that , damn the guy can play!!!!

  • some 1 answer this please :)

i want to get motion city soundtrack type sound synth , possible?

  • you have talent

  • i have so many questions, if some1 can answer i would really apreciate it:

    1: does it have bits?

2: can i put and arpegeitor with bit?

3: is the editing like the microkorg? can i get a sound of the microkorg in the r3?

4: does it have good and many trance sounds?

    THANX

  • 2. it has a built in arp

    4. it has some trance presets, but you will get a much better result if you do research and create your own synth sounds, which this synth is built for. Get a keyboard if you don't want to model synth.

  • goddamn cant get over how good this guy is

  • Stop playing! Or I'll be convinced to buy it sooner than planned.

  • were can I find tabs for that

    ?

  • i think he's improvising

  • cool man! you rock

  • centered around C?!?! how did you figure that one out? nice video though :)

  • a brother can jam! gonna get one now.

  • you are so awesome!!

  • hey man, im normally "insidahdevelopment" but i've had two accounts, for work purposes, etc...

anyways, check out the clip - its just a recording of some basic work i did on the R3... There's also another clip, so check out both of the "ninja" videos...

  • i dont really like your style man, you're too "in your face" and emotional...

other than that, you're talented on the keys, and thanks for the clip, well done!

  • yeah im not really like that (in your face) at all in real life. thats my "youtube" personality...an attempt to be somewhat entertaining. when i watch the video back myself im like "wow.. kinda annoying" lol

  • haha, its cool man.. I'm gonna produce some video clips of my R3 and Electribe EMX1 sometime.. just dont know when I'll get a chance to connect it all up.. then you can have a comment about me ;)

Either way, as I said before, I like your talent..

    keep it up ;)

  • Hey man just wondering, does this thing have its own drum set up, so you can make your own beats on it???

  • is it better than microkorg xl?

  • U again? - yes...

  • Groovy

  • Awesome.^^

  • glad to see someone can play :D

    great demo! thx )

  • Great playing! Where/how did you learn to play like this ???

  • classically trained for a while, but now just hobbyish playing of jazz on my own. read a tiny bit of Mark Levine's "Jazz Piano" book (he is awesome)

  • Duuuuuuuuude...I'm a self taught keyboard player. How did you learn to play the jazz like that? Did you have a teacher?

And what do you mean the keyboard is centred around C?

  • it starts on C and ends at B. I think thats what he means. so you can't really play in the key of F# because the keyboard doesnt end on F and you'd run out of keys.

  • thanks! :)

  • It starts and ends on a C.

  • oops, your right. i wasn't thinking exactly correct at the time.

  • can you play the guitar tho?;-)

  • yaaa

  • kool :-)

  • Is it cold in your house?

  • it was cold in that dorm. the college failed to fund our room's heat.

  • Lets hope they'll find enough to get ya a chair ;D

  • haha! they were on top of that... but my roommate stole my chair by piling loads of dirty clothes on it until i could not find it! happily, this year i have a single, with heat!

  • 1:13 cracked me up when you did the evil laugh, your very funny :)

  • hah this vid seriously made me crack up. I just bought mine back in November. great lil synth but man it takes a long time to learn how to program...haha

  • o_0 where'd you learn to play like that?

  • just messin around on the piano... listening 2 some jazz/funk and just internalizing the style (im still a beginner tho haha)

  • I want some more vids on the R3. And of you playing music :)

  • your very good...

    i want one of those

  • your a coqy fuck... i could have done this myself.... you didn't explain any of the stuff. pretty good keyboard skills though.

  • oh im not actually an equipment buff/junkie/technician... i just was showing the different sounds that come with the keyboard under the setting "keyboard". lol i dont seem THAT cocky, do I? :'(

  • No, you don't.

  • nice job homie!

  • ah.... your grand.

  • UR CRAZy....I dig it.....I'm gonna get me one

  • Dude you've got talent.

I wish i could improv like that. You play piano i guess? for how long?

  • ive been improving for about 1.5-2 years now... i played classical for a while, but kind of hobbyish w/o any steady teacher since i can remember... more into composition

  • You play very nice mate, but is not piano there my friend.

  • ya the R3 does not have an acoustic piano sound... only electric, synth, and guitar... i should have written "keyboard" presets.

  • Anyways you play lovely mate, keep it up.

  • Amazing. but not piano sound.

  • great chega ;)

  • hahaha thats whats up dude, Im trying to get one of those realllly soon

  • Dude can play.

  • You're playing proffesional, but with exception of vocoder you have'nt showed the reall abilyty of this synthesizer, you can play on normal keyboard all of your stuff. I don't know nothing about music, but i'm sure of it!

  • Does your R3 make a 'clipping' sound when you keep keys pressed down for most presets? Do you know if this is normal? Mine's brand new and if I hold down any sounds it eventually makes a clipping sound, and if the preset has delay effects, the clipping is delayed also...just curious. thanks and nice playing

  • Not really sure if I should go with the R3 or the Micro-X. I like the portability of the Micro-X but I really like the sounds of the R3. Also I really don't know if the Micro-X would work on my Mac! Any suggestions?

  • i mean a song not sound.

  • quick question, can u record ur own sounds with drums n beats n stuff with the r3?

  • lol yaaa... its just a ironing board that covered up the window that wouldn't close!

    is that what u meant?

  • this synth is soooo sick. but do you know of any cases that will fit it, since it doesn't have its own?

  • I own this synth, and I ordered a custom case from Studio Slips. Worth the money because Korg still hasn't come up with a good gig bag for this one.

  • bought one of these about a year ago..love it...incredible machine for the size that it is..worth the extra bills as opposed to the micro korg

  • that was some awsome playing dude!

  • The video starts with Tom Jobim´s "Chega de Saudade" (No More Blues). Hehehehe.

Nice playing, fella. Marcio from South Brazil.

  • thanks!

i love Jobim! the song on the video is my remix, where i sped it, chopped it, and added bass/drums/effects :)

  • what it dookie? haha. thaks for posting, i'm considering an r3, this helped me decide.

    one

  • these are all presets? crazy...does this have any sounds other than sorta corny techno?

  • awesome this guy has got rhythm i am so jealous

  • Stay cool bro...nice video

  • lol dude you are a joker

this synth is amazing. can't wait to get one for myself :D

  • haha good job. made me smile

  • That thing has some sick sounds man, really nice playing, a tour of the other sounds would be really appreciated! Thanks!

  • lol! this comment kind of looks like a poem until you read it.

  • hehehe I like U.

  • lol ... owned STUPID RACIST twat!

  • nice hat dumbshit

  • dont hate

  • You should be able to change the master tuning of the keyboard...that way you wouldn't be stuck with C as the full spread when you don't want it.

    Blazing playing, Blazn.

  • sounded more likea clav........a super fresh one. X-D

  • really you're great guy..nice greetings from italy..

PS: the R3 has a sequencer or drum pad?

  • hopin your still gonna do some demo's with different presets XD

  • lol i should do that... i will soon!! just been lazy n havent taken out my camera in a while...

  • you got skills man. but where can i hear more of the background beat you used. i must know!

  • thanks! but my bossa-nova beat i have not posted it anywhere yet... i guess i can put it up here on youtube! ill stop slackin n get on that soon.

  • good synth :) just get a controller and you wont have any worries ;)

  • controller? what type, the r3 works as a midi controller, though im pretty sure u dont mean that

  • What do you mean it's stuck in the key of C??

  • Just that the keyboard starts/ends on C, theres 4 Cs but less of everythng else, so its harder to hit high tonics after big runs in keys other than C.

  • Nice demo of the presets, very helpful.

Thanks. When will we see you on the B3?

  • wat it dookie lol

  • and by centered on c, you mean it starts and ends on c's?

how many octaves does it have on, (i know it has an octave pitch change of +-1

  • you should be famous. your persona is perfect XD

hahaha i gota couple r3 questions

the sounds can be directly recorded into a program like protools correct? and midi?

  • lolol!

but yes! the r3 can be used as a midi controller, as well as a synth.

  • thanks i really appreciate it!

  • Awe!!

  • I JUST bought it.

I can't believe it, $526 off eBay. I'm so broke now it's not even funny. But this has been the keyboard of my dreams simply because it has a built-in vocoder and is all-around a wonderful sounding synth.

I just hope my girlfriend forgives me. :(

  • Your girlfriend will forgive you. Just profess your love to her over the sweet sounds of the R3. :)
