I never got past this level ... I never saw the Special World as a child ... but when I found out about the Blue Yoshi thingy ... it amazed me. However, completing this level with a magic balloon means you're a champ.

I got frustrated with this level as a kid, and decided there had to be a better way. Use a blue yoshi, swallow a red turtle, and fly above the screen... it will take a little practice to figure out the fire plants, but it works like a charm.

if you do, with the cursor, backward and forward, fast, you will advance faster while you are in the effect of the air bag. Therefore you will only need two bags and going through the top of the screen (and hold Y button) to beat this stage.

I finally got through it several times now.

Here's the trick: When you get the first air balloon thingy, keep floating until you're over the piranna. Stay above it a little and it won't come back out. When your air runs out, drop down to the yellow pipe.

From there, jump and spin on top of the first (lower) football guy. Of course, you have to watch out for the 2nd, higher guy.

After that, it's over before you know it.

IMO, not really. The only other stage you'll probably have trouble with after this is Outrageous, but if you come in with powerups and Yoshi you'll probably do fine.

The easiest way to beat this level is to use the blue Yoshi.

Grab the blue yoshi, have a cape, and grab a turtle shell; fly across the whole level.
