hey man i got a question... did that H pipe do anything.. im runnin true dual thrush welded mufflers on my 5.3 with turndowns... i needs a crossover and have a free H pipe on hand.. i was just wondering if the H added or took anything away.
@PrairieKid03 Not sure, truck lost low end energy with these mufflers. H pipe was supposed to balance velocity, it may have but it still performed poorly.
@kxdirtrider85 two mufflers, 2500HDs are 3" dual piped from the factory ( until 2007 ), and it had hi-flow cats in it already when I got it, along with a Flo-Pro HD muffler.
@tvesbach They are claimed to calm down the interior noise some for SUVs and some sports cars. The exhaust tip is the major point of drone aside of the muffler location under the truck.
hey im gettin a true dual exhaust on my 1500 soon and i was wondering did you notice any difference with the hi flow cats or no? i heard some people say that they have but my exhaust guy said he looked at a stock cat and hi flow cat and cant even tell the difference
@jmw7190 they were in the truck when i bought it with the previous exhaust. the difference is inside is not resonated much. Some cases they aren't necessary at all to put in, like Dodges, and some GM cats which are damn near hi-flow as is.
everyone knows adding horsepower to an LS engine is as easy as hitting water when falling out a boat! screw that OHC crap from ford! my friend spent 1500 on a DOHC for his cobra when my 300 buck ls cam eats his!
well seeing that a new chevy's basic 1500 has a 5.3L with 315 hp and ford might have that much and theres is a 5.4L...also the chevy gets better mpg...im not seeing a good argument for the ford guys just seeing a lot of guys getting all pissy. (btw very nice sounding truck!)
I have this thing, called a Youtube channel...... click my name and oh shit! there it is!...... wow.. Anyways, This Chevy was a piece of shit in my opinion, my F150 is far better, more comfortable, just as tough, and better on gas. I made the right move, i'll always like Ford more, I gave GM a chance.
there's no way the HD was a "piece of shit" and you are seriously mistaken if you think the F150 comes close to a 2500HD in strength, and power compared to the gutless 5.4L.. gas?? its a TRUCK with more HP and TQ than the 5.4L.. if you want fuel economy get a honda
it blew the brakes, then blew the power steering pump, then it developed a piston issue, it was shit. and only 32k miles. Lucky the junker was still warrantied cause that would have fucked me over well. And the F150 frame and 5.4L torque can handle nearly what a 6.0L 2500HD can, so its a better truck for me.
i bought my HD with 14k miles now it has 142k not one single problem only a new battery and oil/trans service plus power steering/hydroboost flush and brake resevour flush.. custom tuned by blackbear performance, intake, exhaust and some weight reduction I hit 14.98 @90.12 mph 1/4 mile. I couldnt ask for a single thing more from a world class truck
It is an iron/aluminum (2000 model year engines had cast iron heads) design and produces 300 horsepower (220 kW) to 325 horsepower (242 kW) and 360 lb·ft (488 N·m) to 370 lb·ft...gues I cant argue with you on that, or the fact that the low end torque comes on earlier.
IMHO, the best engine Ford's ever made is the 300 I6, btw.
Thanks man. No, I hated those Bridgestones actually, good tire on pavement but the sucked in snow. 33" BFGs are going on the F150 with 18" wheels that I still need to figure out, hopefully this summer cause the F150 needs tires real soon.
Great video, If you need any help getting your videos or channel exposed, i use a service called thetubeviews . net it has helped 5 of my videos get ranked on the first page
You might like this, I just took my Flowmaster Super 40 Mufflers off and put 18'' Thrush turbos on my 77 Chevy pickup, I got sick and tired of the drone from in side of the cab. And I could not tell that it was running, Its that quite. Ill post a video of it starting up and Idling. And my flow rate was Increased, my Torque level went up. I love them, and i recommend these.
You might wanna check out the Jones Full Boar as well. They're as loud as the Super 44's, flow more, cost alot less, and sound as good as, if not better than, the super 44. (Check out the 07 Chevy with Full Boar's on here-it sounds awesome)
i've heard of that kit before. Is it stainless steel? That would be another plus compared to Rustmaster's 16 gauge aluminized. The mufflers under this truck looked horrible after winter.
how long did it take to break in? i have true dual 40 series on my 2005 grand marquis but its not as deep as your 44s

how come you got rid of it ?? nice truck by the way!!
DieselProductionz85 1 year ago
@DieselProductionz85 broke down twice, wasn't satisfied or comfortable inside it. Always been a Ford guy. Happier in my F150.

does putting hi-flow cats make your truck way louder????
PLEASE REPLY
dylan001367 1 year ago
@dylan001367 not 'way' louder, but it helps a little. Longtube headers and true duals if you want real loud.

how much was your hole system
kxdirtrider85 1 year ago
@kxdirtrider85 at the time $340 some
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 thts it 340 for the exhaust? my frends was like 500
kxdirtrider85 1 year ago
@kxdirtrider85 yeah, mufflers were $79ea, tips were $70 overall, $110 installed & taxed. This was in early 2007.

@DarrenWS6 so all u got was mufler and tips and it sounds sick like this

I have an '05 2500HD, and besides the water pump, never had a problem with it.
Would love to redo my exhaust with that super 44 system. Did it do anything for your horsepower/ fuel economy?
BlueOx2277 1 year ago
@BlueOx2277 It lowered fuel economy by almost 1mpg. My average suffered 1.5mpg. Low end torque sucked after it too.

that truck is nice man

not trying to show off but my silverado 6.0 sounds better with a single exhaust but with double exits and sounds WAY better
unlobobienperron05 2 years ago
thats cool. i lovethe rumble and tone of a true dual though, cant be beat imo, but the idle of a single muffler is so rich and clear.

also, with fords OHC 5.4 the torque comes in higher which isnt the greatest for trucks which need torque at the lowest of RPMs

what "piston" issue are you refering to? piston slap when cold?

there was a ticking coming from the engine and the dealer noted that piston 5 was ticking. thats when i got rid of it.

Horsepower stock-Chevy-300
Horsepower stock-Ford-300
Torque-stock-Chevy-360 lb/ft
Torque-stock-Ford-365 lb/ft
In comparison to the Chevy, exactly how is the Ford gutless? Also, the Chevy (stock) has a similar amount of horsepower and LESS torque.
123abc19956 2 years ago
LQ4 6.0L has 330hp/360tq
LQ9 6.0L has 345hp/380tq
more of everything than ford including cubic inches. the only way ford can keep up with a N/A chevy is to boost it

hmm..this is what I found on the LQ4:
It is an iron/aluminum (2000 model year engines had cast iron heads) design and produces 300 horsepower (220 kW) to 325 horsepower (242 kW) and 360 lb·ft (488 N·m) to 370 lb·ft...gues I cant argue with you on that, or the fact that the low end torque comes on earlier.
