Actually mono is really just a set of symptoms most commonly caused by EBV (virus) but there are other viruses or parasites that can cause it. So, you could get it a different way. He didn't quite give specific parameters for diagnosis.
I don't understand why a course of antiviral medication is not indicated. Instead of waiting until serious complications arise. Not all children are "healthy". Long term illness can arise from ebstein-barr including ME/cfs and it is seen quite alot in the population but is not recognised or ignored by doctors. Alot of sufering could be avoiding by aggressive treatment of mono and other virus's at onset, in my opinion.
My 15 year old son has ME/cfs and is immune compromised and now has Mono. What are the complications that are possible that you mentioned in your video. Reply much appreciated.
they call it the kissing disease in some places. Technically there's no cure other than your body fighting it off. Once your body has fought off a virus, you will have antibodies for it the rest of your life.
thank you for the great video. I was diagnosed with mono in mid September 2007, we are now in january 18th 2008 and I still have some of the symptoms suck as dizziness and fatigue and intolerance to certain foods, such as fried foods spicy foods etc.. is that normal??
2nd time having it, and this time it's been over 3 months....This sucks..

@cdavenport124 that shouldnt be possible dude
being that it is a virus your body should build an immunity after the first time...
so odds are that either the 1st time you where missdiagnosed... or this time :)
