  • all people kill me homewar!!

  • muito massa esse filme

  • This movie is 4 year old nearly, but its perfect look at the Tanks, real T34 not rebuilt cheap tanks like in saving private ryan, huge battles and there is nothing in this movie like germans are better or russian are better like it is in most movies, in most movies the side the movie is wiewed from is far superior to the enemy but this really gives us the best example of how the eastern front looked like of any ww2 film.

Respect to the makers of this movie, a masterpiece.

  • @JSLegoMaster 4 years? it was made in the seventies and this version

jve the German really speaking German,

  • sorry i meant 40 XD

  • Jap, der "Preussische Aristokrat"xD

    Witzig der Film ;D

  • Ja ja der hauptmann stransky :D

  • great film-coburn and mason-the germans were outnumbered on both fronts-they were very professionell and diciplined soldiers.

  • american war films suks, someone need to tell hollywood to stop making these trashes, even soviet films were better

  • I loved it-totally blew my mind!

  • This Is An Amazing Movie..And SO Is Siege Of Firebase Gloria...Great Perspective. A Cross Of Iron And Also The Movie STALINGRAD for the viewpoint of the german army.. alos SOLDAT VAN ORANJE! (its dutch but a great movie)

  • The best war film EVER and James Coburn is so credible as Steiner.

  • James Colbern.

    Accept no subtitute.

  • @the82spartans James COBURN, dummie..

  • @toddness -- easy...

    Coburn.

  • great movie, the wehrmacht is the best.............

  • This movie was based on the real experiences of german soldiers from 101.division (light mountain?) located on Kuban front in autumn 1943.

  • i love this movie because it shows that the germans fought too and not just ran away like in those other stupid movies or series like band of brothers

  • @watzman123321123321

    thats right^^

  • @watzman123321123321 Your comment really intrigues me. I rate Cross of Iron and Band of Brothers as the two most brilliant WW2 film/TV series that I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them (cuz WW2 is interesting). At what point in Band of Brothers were the Germans "just running away"? How could a 10 part series of been built around that? Were they doing that on D Day? Market Garden? Bastogne? I agree its good to see things from the German perspective, but your statement is folly. coburn pwns

  • @LosersVoteBNP i can not really agree to you, what watzman surely means is,that in the most series / movies the germans were shown as brainless killers or as soldiers who gets only killed. he means that they were not only on battlefield to die.

  • @bernisweltredsun If he had said that, I wouldn't of said anything, but the "running away" comment interested me. I suppose they do retreat in some places if they are portraying an accurate version of events, because that's what really happened. I wouldn't say that "Band of Brothers" portrayed the Germans as wimps though, which is what watzman seemed to be saying. The Germans are far from brainless in "Band of Brothers", but yes, they get killed because it really happened.

  • @watzman123321123321 they fought too??? loool THEY fought.read books.all other try to fight, they FIGHT.russian behave made them fear pow more than death.

cut out stomaches, cut off ears etc etc. todays books show it all.no more propaganda shit.

  • @wilhelmspw to be fair the genocide inflicted upon the russians by the SS doesn;t justify, but certainly explains their barbaric behaviour. Remember as the russians advanced they would have witnessed the devastation caused bythe third reich.

  • @russelledwards001 sorry but that is not correct. russia did such things since 1st day of war.no matter genocide or not.russia wasnt in this geneve convention.germans found kathyn and many other massacres, that russians transfered to german crimes after ww2..germans did crime,no doubt, but not from the bottom of army, like russians.

  • @russelledwards001 Killing one's wife, "to shut her up", is also an explanation but not an excuse!

  • @watzman123321123321

i wonder why americans didnt film a movie about germans fighting the allies in western and southern fronts.

  • @watzman123321123321

I thought the Germans were portrayed as good soldiers in "Band of Brothers" doing their duty. Also the brutality against them was not hidden as some of them that gave up or were prisonders were shot.

"Saving Private Ryan" and other Hollywood movies of late, portray Germans as faceless, brutal, and cowardly people. A myth Hollywood has convinced a lot of people is true. Spielberg's melodrama about all Germans being "potential nazi brutes" was disgusting.

  • best of

  • i like this film

  • co-production - and a very good one

  • so what the english version suckt the german version made it alot better

  • a very sobering portrayal of the hell on the eastern front.

  • y is there a german useing a ppsh thats a russian gun

  • he picked it up from a raid on a russian artillery position or mortar bunker

you would know this if you saw the film

  • o ok i just whated to know

  • On the Eastern front the germans used russian weapons very often because they were reliable and did not froze in the sub -cero russian temperatures.

  • @marck0938 You obviously never fired a crappy Russian ppsh. The only reason why Germans used Russian autos is because they had very little of their own. They were not ready for the war, in contrast with Bolsheviks that had almost 5 000 000 of their standing army equipped with automatic weapons by early 1941, ready to invade western Europe.

  • Actually, to attack in any reasonable way Machineguns would be needed, not sub machineguns like the PPSh series. And ready to invade is also a lie. The Soviets had already invaded Finland and Poland, both as allies of Hitler, in accordance with the Molotov von Ribbentrop agreement. Being defeated by England, Hitler decided to attack his Ally. Sad for people of Soviet Union, who lost 20 millions due to their being unprepared.

  • DONAUWALZER!!!

  • Nice, I really like this movie. Great battle scenes and an unconventional perspective on WW2.

  • and "bridge at remagen"

  • Well dude what do you have in the US today? You have a facist style miltary/economy combined with cultural Marxism, so we have the worst of both worlds coming over us. The Nazis were pretty much on target with what the two big idealogical camps were; communism and crony capitalism. I never agreed with their methods or even a large part of their ideology, but face it they were spot on about the international financiers and the Reds carving up the world.

  • Cross of Iron ranks with A Bridge Too Far and Das Boot as the best WWII movies.

  • good ol steiner

reminds me of what an SS Tank Crew said :

At least the Allies died for a good cause , for the liberation of Europe but for what did our men die?

  • they had a very very good reason too

they died for each other for the man next to them

    for there brothers in arms

and later on in the war they fought and died for survival

Barley any of them were Nazi Fanatics and the few that were quickly grew out of that in the first year of the war

  • UNfortunately for us the Nazis were closer to the truth. They were fighting against both communism and crony capitalism. Look at both types of empires today. The USSR collapsed now the US is collapsing for both taking their systems to the most corrupt extremes.

  • with all the slow motion, it really makes the scene intense

  • Awesome film one of the best. Based on book by Willi Heinrich called the Willing Flesh

  • It's all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever. Yet we stand here in the middle of no man's land.

    - Sergeant Steiner (1)

  • guter film!

  • Best War movie Ever

  • Steiner is ein "working class hero"...

  • steiner looks kickass

  • Amen.

  • steiner looks like a gebirsjager, (mountain troop)

  • steiner looks like a volkssturmmann 1945 in berlin

  • this is one of my favourite films of all time. theres not many films made at this time depicting the german side of things. i still watch it today sometimes(even though i only have it on vhs cassette lol)

  • What film is this?

  • it's a film called 'cross of iron'. the movie is in english this clip is german voice over.

  • me to lol

  • 'Die Brucke"(The Bridge) is another film based on the German perspective in war...this one a true story about a bunch of child-soldiers who defended a bridge against american attack. Very good film.

  • Too bad for the kid; whatever, even if he survived and reached at Russian side, he would be supposed to be killed, because he was a traitor before their eyes.

  • Besser gehts nicht! Die Germans Heroes bekommen ein würdiges Filmwerk! Würde gern mal den Direktors Cut sehen!

  • i like he slow motion

  • Boy, thats what i call close combat. Both sides can see the white in the eyes of their enemy. The infantery respected the so called ,,Nahkampfspange'' (a special German decoration for close combat) at least equal to the famous knights cross. I think this sequence points out why. To be decorated with the 3rd grade (bronze) of the close combat decoration, you had to survive 15 of such close combat days...(silver=30; gold=50).

  • Those Krauts were 'tough men'...good soldiers. I think they battled with more than mortal combat, I think they also battled with their consciousness, because I think they knew what Hitler had already done to them. Enemies...but brothers in arms of the best calibre. Undoubtedly all Allies wanted to defeat what these men defended and quickly, but I think all Allies, West 'and' East, respected the German trenchman.

  • General Patton respected the German as good soldier. He let most of the POW's under his captivity home soon after the war was over. Unlike Ike,which was very different on the treatment of those soldiers.

  • Never!!!!

    ruhe in frieden james

  • Richtig!

  • Traurig aber wahr.

  • Brilliant movie the battle scenes alone should have won an Oscar.Sam Pekanpower knew how to show the true horrors of war using slow motion capture.I was delighted when i saw the Movie for it showed The view from a German soldier perspective of the war against the Communists.Steiner played by James Coburn is simply against the Nazi ideolgy,But he is a true warrior and a good leader to his men, saddest thing of all was there were many stieners in WW2 who never came home RIP KOMERADEN'S..

  • Terrible but may be true,...I Like this Movie

  • The book's even better.

  • Steiner is the MAN

  • Gute Soldaten guter Film!

  • Wow, vielen Dank. Gefällt mir ausgezeichnet der Film
