@jaydol85 i know they do that... they are top class players.. but Rui Costa was another level.. in his best he was one of the 5 best real number 10's players off all times... this guy alone was the motor of Benfica, then Fiorentina (Best Fiorentina ever Rui Costa and Batistuta amazing duo), and finally in AC Milan he also was the best player. he was the play maker in every team he played. this is an amazing player.

@weapt what about scholes, the premiership is the fastest league tempo wise, and he's shone through so playing in the portuguese or the even slower serie A would of been a piece of piss for him. Look I came here because im a Rui Costa fan, not to argue about the man. He was quality but in my own opinion Scholes is the bollocks when it comes to playmakers, not so much now cause he's getting on but you know what i mean.

Clubismos à parte... há que reconhecer que Rui Costa foi dos melhores médio-centro ofensivos do mundo. A mestria no passe, a forma de controlar a bola de cabeça levantada sempre à procura de linhas de passe culminando numa visão de jogo fantástica, e o seu remate bem colocado.
