This commercial gives a complete false connotation of life in New York. It is in fact overwhelmingly over populated with very high crime rates (especially drug trafficking). It is very polluted and most residents there are either living in an one room apartment or homeless on the streets. (P.S. I've live there)
ive always wanted to go to newyork, since i saw home alonce 2 lol, and when this ad came on ive wanted to go even more especially to have a breakfast....maybe next year i will.......and at 13 seconds pause it and can someone tell me what that yellow stuff is getting poured onto the eggs? it looks well nice and ive always wanted to know since this ad came out
I saw this advert on TV a few weeks ago. For some reason, the British version of this is dramatically shortened with some of the best shots cut out (the Jewish man in the bakery, the sizzling breakfasts, the businessmen eating breakfast in a high-rise restaurant overlooking the skyline etc.) Why is this? Surely it's not a politically correct thing?
God this advert annoys me. Like New York is filled with orange groves instaed of skyscapers, and us silly cross atlantic cousins have to ape these supposed breakfast gurus and buy Tropicana just because they do. Piss off you patronising twats
Its funny that the ad here in the UK is different, no jew at 0:04, no bacon at 0:07, no menu at 0:09, the woman immedeatly afterward, the man at 0:14 isnt either or the business meeting he is in, no police, diner (except the two men facing each other), why do they do this? the police i understand, but the rest i dont get
Nope, the ad first ran sometime in 2005, I was in London and distinctly remember hearing office chatter about "that lovely breakfast those suits were eating", as brits hardly ever eat Eggs Benedict. Also remember the orthodox Jewish chap and the cops, distinctly.
I Just Saw it on TV and it didn't. But the same goes for Discovery Channel's 'Boom De Ya Da'. I first saw it in Vietnam. Looked it up on YouTube and it was like 30 seconds longer than the TV version, but what was missing were monks n shit. Lol..
You have got to remember that they have used techniques such showing the iconography that everyone associates with the American city like yellow cabs, new york skyline etc as well as a cultural mix like the black and the white cop together to convey a sense of community. In the real world New York is busier, more polluted and more segregated than that.
This always makes me cheerful to think that the majority of people living in New York are happy people and they wake up to their lives in the morning with a smile on their face.
I think I'd like to live in New York when I'm older.
That is exactly what I think!! New Yorkers are always positive about things, I come to London everyday and its just not the same. Im defiantly going to move over to USA when im a bit older.
I want to live in new york :(

@kiemul136 Why is the advert a false connotation, it's just showing people having breakfast. Most people have breakfast everyday.
Joshalidina 11 months ago 3
@Joshalidina Yeah, people have breakfast everyday.
But breakfast in new york is just so much better, cant you tell by this advert?:P

The 'yellow stuff' being poured on the eggs is hollandaise sauce and the dish is called Eggs Benedict. It's delicious.
