  • lols Tim sylvia is such a tool

  • Rogans the shit

  • Frankie Edgar, IS a sick mofo.

    I love watching him fight.

    Bring on Gray Maynard 3.

  • And btw BoricuaAltaHueso stfu dude your an idiot. Go take your desire to pull a trigger to the military if you want to be productive, or to a gang if you want to be wasted or a waste. As far as fighting, stop acting like your hard shit without a fucking glock you pussy, please go fight that guy at his gym and learn what hard work does.

  • Its too bad they used Tim Sylvia for that commercial because its fucking sick. So much deeper then it appears, think about it.

  • reporter is annoying and sounds like a douchebag

  • @bfullstar You're annoying and you are a douchebag.

  • @danhantheman How many boxing bouts and MMA fights have you participated in and where can one see your career records as you seem to be quite the authority on the effectiveness of these sports? Obviously you speak from innate experience as you are so entrenched in your views that such biases are develped through years of experience as a combatant in both these sports? Otherwise its all pure fantasy

  • "The loose your fingers organization, Rhymes with Mukuza." - hhahahahahahaha

  • idt they knew he was talking about yakuza

  • @danhantheman (your) martial art style (if you even study martial arts) may be just for "fitness" (Tae Bo or what not, lol) but I assure you, the foundation of any true martial art was not designed to keep your waist line slim. lol They are martial arts sir, designed for self-defense (which is why there is so much controversy and interest in finding out the best art to defend yourself) not martial "fitness"

  • Joe is the man full stop!! His podcasts are brilliant too!

  • search MMA vs boxing

14yr old kid boxing against 24yr old MMA pro, and whupping his ass

  • @danhantheman Search Randy Couture Vs James Toney, 2 professionals fighting. Or search Art Jimmerman Vs Royce Gracie. Again 2 professionals fighting. Anytime theres not as restricting of rules as in boxing, a boxer will lose.

  • @cdizzzzle search tim sylvia getting knocked da fuck out

  • @danhantheman Search ray mercer getting beaten by KIMBO SLICE, one of the most unskilled MMA guys around bud. If you purely box witha boxer like Sylvia of course your gonna get knocked out. Only problem is no one who has an IQ would do that. Kick a boxer and they would know what to do. Take a boxer down and they would panic. Boxing is too limited to be effective.

  • @cdizzzzle sylvia was kicking mercer u noob. also search kimbo when he gets his ass beat in his boxing debut too, kimbo is a tomato can/bouncer.

there's a reason why boxing has evolved for hundreds of yrs and not MMA. cuz nobody wants to see a buncha homo white "wrestlers" humping each other's legs and calling it locking/grappling. what is this shit, frat pledging? whats next, elephant walk? the only time MMA is exciting is when they punch standing up, bottom line.

  • also boxing IS effective in streetfights. u ever been in one? clearly not u suburban teen. a streetfight lasts ~10sec, and is pretty much whoever sucker punches who 1st. then u get broken up by ppl or police. there's no practical scenario where ur alone 1 on 1 in a deathmatch and u need to submit a guy. if it was 1 on 1 alone, i could always just run, fuck pride its ur life. boxers are leaner/do more roadwork than wrestlers anyways. only time u would need mma is if ur tryin to do the mugging

  • @danhantheman Martial arts have been around for thousands of years boy. Look up Muay Thai Kickboxing Vs Boxing. Dont take it too personally, you didnt invent the fighting technique of boxing, but the truth is is that its inferior. No question about it.

  • @cdizzzzle dont confuse real martial arts (which actually isn't used for brawling in a cage, its for fitness), and icons like Bruce Lee for the freakshow that is Joe Rogan and Chuck Liddell. what do these guys know about martial arts or the spiritual element behind it? they are simply some American joe wrestlers who clearly can't cut it in boxing and mind as well do something else.

analogy: mma is to boxing like slamball is to NBA. sure Kobe might not be the best slamball player, but who cares

  • @danhantheman Yes, cause you know the mindset of true martial artists right? Youve probably never studied jui-jitsu or anything of that sort so you dont understand it. If you did you could respect the manipulation of the human anatomy and exploitations of it. These "American Joe" wrestlers can still take you to the floor and if you cant stop it then I guess youre not a skilled as you think you are.

  • @danhantheman Shut the fuck up. You obviously don't know anything about martial arts. Bjj is the best pure martial art. Combine that with Muay Thai and you got a fucking assassin. Karate sucks, Kung Fu sucks, Taekwondo sucks, and so do you. Go to a mma gym and then fucking leave comments. MMA is way better then boxing. Boxers just punch take their ability to punch away and they have nothing. MMA fighters in the other hand use their entire body as a weapon not just their fist. So shut the fuck up

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 if its so easy, then why don't pro MMAggots take their game to the big boxing stage? where the purses are 10x higher? cuz they'd get their head smashed in and careers finished. MMA is for white trash douchebags who can't box and beer drinkers. NUF SAID

  • @danhantheman Because boxing is dead, and MMA is starting to to get big and with the fox deal, starting to go mainstream. IF you wanna say MMA is for white trash people(Im Asian) then i can say boxing is for dumbass blacks and Hispanics, but i wont because its not true. If you didnt know MMA originated from Brazil and is also a huge draw in Japan and other Asian countries. Just curious, the video obviously states that its about MMA, so if hate it, then why the fuck are you watching it?

  • @JacThaCrusher lol if boxing is dying, it will be resurrected. MMA on the other hand is booming...like a fad. like WWF. when its time is up, you wannabe tough dumbasses can do another sport. maybe manhunt or somethin

  • @danhantheman Well first off your comparing an ORGANIZATION to a SPORT. Next the WWF is all fake entertainment and everyone knows that. In the UFC, all those KOs, Submissions, slams, are all real. lol you think this sport is easy? Yeah boxers may have better cardio because they go 12 rounds, but how about you go through actual MMA training. Ray Mercer even stated he had his work cut out for him. Think about what you do when you train boxing and times that by 5 for all the arts they train

  • @danhantheman You're obviously a fucking retard. In boxing you're not allowed to use bjj or muay thai all you do is punch. So how the fuck are they gonna prove that they could easily defeat a boxer if they can't use any of the techniques they use in MMA. Take Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather and put them in a one on one street fight with any MMA fighter and they will get there asses whooped. Boxing is dead. Why use just your fist when you can use your entire body as a weapon.

  • @danhantheman MMA and Boxing are two completely different sports. Its like saying football is better than rugby it doesn't make any sense you dumb ass. I'm know that you never been to a MMA gym or a Boxing gym just by the way you talk. Boxing is a part of MMA just like muay thai, bjj, and wrestling. I know pro boxers. I respect pro boxers, but the reality is they won't last one round in MMA if they plan on just using boxing. So once agian I say to you go fuck yourself pussy.

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 LOL MMA fans again with the "we're a complete sport" bullshit. let me tell you something, MMA is just a bunch of half-ass, great at nothing guys who dabble in everything. boxers are the real fine-tuned athletes. we use our fist and we perfect that to a science. meanwhile u guys are busy randomly choking and humping each other out to the point w here even your elite fighters often have losing records.

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 and if u ever attacked me in a streetfight. i can guarantee u a boxer would knock your ass out. streetfights are 99% 10sec violent affairs where its hit and run. nobody is on the fucking ground rolling and ankle locking each other, shit gets broken up. you guys are dreaming if u think real fighting is an octagon. in the end, quick striking is by far the best for civilian fighting, theres a reason bruce lee had a 1inch punch and didn't start out trying to hump your leg!

  • @danhantheman See you are a fucking retard. I spar pro boxers so you need to shut the fuck up. I been in lots of street fights. I was fighting in the streets before i went to the gym so I know what works and what doesn't. In a boxing match as a sport mayweather will beat me but in a street fight or mma match i would embarrass him easily. Street fights don't last 10seconds you never been in a street fight, so shut the fuck up and keep listening to your gay ass DAN BALAN-CHICA BOOM.

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 dude you're getting fucking high if u think ur shitty MMA skills means u can compare ur sorry ass to Floyd Mayweather. you MMA guys are the athletic rejects. do you really spar pro boxers? cuz i bet i would whup your sorry ass on the street and in the ring. im a former PA golden gloves winner out of Joe Frazier's. ur sorry ass would judge me based on my music interests. oh im sorry, we can't all be wanna be meatcocks listening to heavy metal with chains around our necks

  • @danhantheman Give me the addres to your gym and I'll show you. Watch ufc 1. Boxing vs. Bjj. Just guess who won. Art Jimmerson vs. Royce Gracie a guy that never boxed in his life.

  • @danhantheman Fuck that take Lucian Bute vs. GSP in a fight with 2 rules no hits to the groin and no eye gouging and I guarantee GSP fucks him up.

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 wait i thot MMA was no rules, all around fighting?? what's with the rules then, u little bitch. mma is as much a sport as any other sport, u best admit it. there's a reason we have rules and dont just stab each other like i would if u tried to lock me on the street. it's called being animals. so stop your wannabe claim that mma is better than boxing.

hey man, boxers have an excuse for being dumb sometimes, they get hit in the head. what's yours??? LOL

  • @danhantheman I'll fucking strait up kill you with a bullet to your head. Wea you be at so I can go pay you a visit. Stab me plz. I'll gladly stab you to death no problems. Lets meet up I'll love to see how that turns out.

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 lol bullets are very mixed martial arts indeed. you just proved you're a violent, retard meathead, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't send u to the ER with a left hook to your fat face. Im at Joe Frazier's Gym. Philadelphia's boxing royalty. u can meet a real legend in Mr. Frazier. not after i break your face. i bet your sorry ass can't even throw a real left hook.

  • @danhantheman The initials are J.M. first name Jon. Ill see you in a few month how old are you I'm 21. Whats your initials and first name so I know its you.

  • @BoricuaAltaHueso787 Aight lil Jon, it's Dan H. ima beat u til you crunk

  • @noahinthewhale well yah...NOW he is..but in 2007 when this interview took place he was the UFC HW champ and getting ready to take on Randy Couture...of course he went on to lose that fight and it's been all downhill since...

  • "I cant tell you SHIT!!!"

  • Joe rogan "alrite im here with (insert ufc fighters name), obviously your dissapointed". change the script man.

  • Lol, Joe's predictions were true.

Frankie Edgar has provided some sweeeeeeeet fights.

  • Lol the Tim Sylvia advertisement is hilarious. What a bum!

  • Rogan is very knowledgeable in mma

  • @OfficialCypherSon Indeed, OCS

  • I wouldnt mind taking wrestling, but yeah i refuse to put on that spandex haha

  • @loves2sploosh do BJJ then and practice no-gi

  • where can I get the full video of teh Tim sylvia in the beg.

  • "lose the finger organization"

    lol fucking awesome.

i love the japanese way of doing business xD

  • 4:52 lol

  • i wanna see joe rogan fight

  • if you hate to lose then you must hate fedor

  • damn right, real men drink black tea!

  • Its funny how this interview was done 3 years ago and he mentions frankie edgar who is now the champion haha

  • mackuza lols

  • Tim Sylvia must hate himself

  • @silantbill xD

  • lol tim sylvia

  • haha i love how rogan is talking like tim sylvia would likely destroy coture when actuallity coture basically had his way with him all five rounds.

  • weird watching this while pride was stilll around

  • Lols, Tim sylvia- "I hate to lose." Get used to it

  • @NateO123 Tim was the champ at that time

  • The amount of work these guys go through is so bullshit. And the fighters get paid shit to fight. I hope in the future fighters will get paid a lot more.

  • @HmongYou2Tube

fighters need to have a union.

  • these guys sacrifice the body for this art

and work much harder then soccer players lol

they deserve more money to live stable n retirement, also to get older n become teachers for up and coming young ufcy outh

  • 8.05 is it because pride have theIr connection to the lose my fingers organisation...LMFAO

  • Know what I love? Ray Mercer KOing Sylvia

  • @awhislyle Know what i love? Couture making Toney look like a child.

  • @SandorCleg lol, the worst/best part was Toney not even getting to throw a SINGLE punch, ha

  • Also gotta love Ray Mercer's one K1 fight. First exchange he got kicked in the head and decided he wanted no more. Then he got his ass kicked by Kimbo Slice of all (untalented) people.

  • I have alot of respect for Joe, not only does he commentate for a living but he loves the sport and the fighters, thats more important than being a commentator to me.

  • I still wanna see arlovski vs cro cop

  • you know what i hate? tim Sylvia

  • joe rogan is stoned lol

  • @imanuel2012 well he always is l

  • today everyone is a mma fighter. its funny how it takes only a few months of training and one can become a professional mma fighter. Boxing takes so much more skill and time to develope into a champion

  • @tigerboi31tony no. just no

  • @tigerboi31tony i'd much rather run across someone who boxed for 2 years that someone who's done MMA for 2 years and try to fight them.... boxing = 1 dimensional

  • @tigerboi31tony That's a load of garbage. Fighting in a local organization is not professional.Go train in mixed martial arts for a few months and tell me how great you are at it. After that, walk up to Shogun and tell him that the years he spent to get his black belt in BJJ and to master muay thai were worthless, and you've become better than him in a few months. Mixed martial arts requires more work, seeing as there's more to learn.

  • @tigerboi31tony Train punching for 5 hours a day for 10 years, and train ALL aspects of fighting the same way. Statistically, the boxer may be a better puncher, but not fighter. In boxing you fight as equals, and in MMA you fight as individuals. The great thing about MMA is that you can use many different ways to win. Those who believe boxing proves the better fighter are old-fashioned puritans. Boxing vs MMA is sorta like fencing vs kung fu.

  • good shit

  • omg its crazy how many fans the ufc generates each month!!!!!! they sell over a million ppv buys every month twice a month. its fkcing crazy even if its not a stacked card dey always get 1mill over ppv buys u under stand how much tht is? like 2mill tims 45bucks is 900,000,000 900 mill tht is and da fighters are only makeing 400,000. thts kinda sd but ohwell white is a bill air

  • @mw2clanking hi son....it's 2nd grade math lesson time..2 million x 45 bucks is 90 million,not 900 million....you are one stupid mother fucker....have a nice day !

  • @mw2clanking good god i literally had to translate your shit into english.

  • Joe Rogan makes more than most fighters!

  • LOL he's hilarious 8:00 rhymes with Makuza

  • lol, silvias part was about the same length as his fight wit fedor

  • @HEYIMATANK

    Hahaha great comment (+1Thumbs up)

  • Wanna know business and fighting?

Dana needs to learn Sun Tzu's art of war.

  • I think hes got it down pretty good but thanks anyway lol

  • Rogan is such a fanboy.

  • of mma.

  • and he makes a living doing something he loves...sounds like a dream and someone is jealous.

  • I'm not insulting him for doing what he loves. My problem is when goes and attacks other fight fans of different martial arts.

In Joe's logic all other martial arts will disappear soon because MMA is this godly sport.

  • @ghostphantom563 yeah and he acts like his opinion is everybodys as well btw he is a bad comedian a worse commentator and a roid taking weed smoking piece of human being

  • I'm really against him as a person. I find some of this ideas and comments interesting I just really don't like his whole MMA supremacy comments.

  • totally agree i mean i love mma but this mma domination talk kinda get on my nerves there is absolutely no reason why there shouldnt be any wrestling or judo tournaments in the future cause of mma's existence

  • lmao. Boxing is pretty much abolished. What other fighting sports do you know about that is mainstream? NONE

  • Boxing as a sport is great i grew up with it but it got way too corupt nobody wanted to fight each other, the uncards sucked, you would end paying 50 dollars for one avg. fight. oh and by the way one on one in a real fight if all you have is boxing a Thai fighter, Wrestler or Jiu-Jitsu fighter will mess up because when they clinch the boxer has limited offense while the rest are just getting started.

  • Wait, what? Are you kidding? If you don't have a grappling background you will get taken down and beaten in a street fight. The only place Muay Thai/Boxers belong is in their respected ring. You don't think these UFC guys know how to street fight? Georges St. Pierre would absolutely maul Floyd Mayweather. Hell, any of the lightweights probably would if they have a modicum of grappling.

  • This is a multi-part comment.

    Part 1

On what grounds? See when you attack another sport you have to back it up with facts.

But to answer your question about what combat sports are mainstream. All I can say is none. The average person watches team sports like football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and so on. That's why when you turn on ESPN they almost always cover teams sports. Combat sports are niche market. Neither MMA or Boxing are that popular.

  • Part 2

Now I'm a fan of all combat sports (I just went to WEC 47). But I can't stand when MMA fanboys like to act like there the biggest and baddest thing out there, but can never back it up.

But if you want to play this game, alright then.

  • Part 3

    Attendance

The highest attendance for a strictly MMA event is 35,000 out in Japan back in 2000 with Pride 10. There is yet for a MMA event in the USA to even reach 20,000, the highest is just over 19,000 at UFC 68.

However only 9 months ago Heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko sold 61,000 seats out in Germany. And his upcoming fight with Eddie Chambers is set to do this again.

  • Part 4

    PPV

There have only been 3 MMA events to sell at least a million PPV buys. All of which happened after the TUF reality show first aired on SpikeTV.

    UFC 66, UFC 92, and UFC 100.

The highest being UFC 100 with 1.6 million buys. Which I have to give credit to. But at the same time it had more then five really big name fighters including GSP who is arguably the best in the world, along with two title fights and still could not sell 2 million.

  • Part 5

And now let's look at RECENT boxing PPV.

Most big boxing fights reach at least 250,000 with it not uncommon to go over 500,000 if it's a good fight and pushed somewhat. MMA has to really push hard to get 500,000.

    Mar 1999 - Holyfield/Lewis 1 - 1.2 Million

    Sep 1999 - De La Hoya/Trinidad - 1.4 Million

    Nov 1999 - Holyfield/Lewis 2 - 850,000

    Jun 2002 - Tyson/Lewis - 750,000

    Sep 2004 - De La Hoya/Hopkins - 1 Million

    May 2006 - De La Hoya/Mayorga - 925,000

  • Part 6

    May 2007 - De La Hoya/Mayweather - 2.4 Million [World PPV Record]

    Dec 2007 - Mayweather/Hatton - 850,000 [USA Only]

    Dec 2008 - Pacquiao/De La Hoya - 1.25 Million

    May 2009 Pacquiao/Hatton - 850,000 [USA Only]

    Sep 2009 - Mayweather/Marquez - 1million

    Nov 2009 - Pacquiao/Cotto - 1.25 Million

  • Part 7

    Conclusion

MMA is primarily a Japanese and American sport and is not even close to the international appeal that boxing has. MMA has a long way to go if it want's to be put up against boxing.

People often forget that the UFC was nearly bankrupt in 2004 because no one cared until they made a reality TV show and marketed clothes. I like MMA but fashion changes and reality shows grow old. But if you can think of something to prove to me that boxing is dead, you do that.

  • UPDATE

    Add this to the list.

Pacquiao/Clottey is starting to be estimated at 800,000 to a million PPV buys and had just under 51,000 people in attendance.

  • @ghostphantom563 UPDATE 2

    3/20/2010

Wladimir Klitschko vs. Eddie Chambers had 51,500 people in attendance.

  • @ghostphantom563 your wrong the highest attendance is Pride Shockwave 2002 with 93,000 peoplein the venue, thats a shit load of people to a martial arts show

  • @Ajdin313 First off I think Pride Shockwave 2002 had 91,108 in attendance, however if you look at my comment I purposely wrote, "strictly MMA event".

Because Pride Shockwave 2002 as well as a few other events have had 35K+ attendance like Dynamite!! and other Pride events. However they always have multiple combat sports at the events.

True, Pride Shockwave 2002 was 62.5% MMA but it also had K-1 kickboxing fights and a Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu match.

  • @ghostphantom563 I totally agreed

  • COME ON, THIS ROGAN GUY IS SO ....idiot...boxing rules, sweet science :D

  • what a fuckin whiney annoying retarded voice joe has.

  • 2:16 - 2:30

rogan is such a stoner keep it up ill bet mike goldberg smokes weed too

  • Tim Sylvia couldn't get chicks even if he had as much money as Mayweather. Oh wait, Mayweather is broke.

  • shit i new i recognised rogan from somewhere wen i first started watching ufc and it was fear factor i could never figure it out until i just watched this video and heard that he hosted fear factor lol

  • shit, fuck commentating, how do I become a UFC ref?!?! best seat in the house!

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE Blind yourself ;)

  • lol dude that messed up, there are some good UFC refs.

  • True, there are some good refs. Just depends on who the commissions pick.

  • Lost alot of respect for him after his abysmal commentry on the machida shogun fight. He needed babysitting that night by an experienced fighter that either understood how technical the fight was or simply wasnt so shogun biased. Watching the fight without his one sided commentry is like watching a different fight!

  • I Hate Tim Sylvia because he is dissapointing in every fight he's hyped for

  • You could clean clothes on his clenched forehead.

  • yea no one really looks at joe rogan but he's pretty damn awesome

  • LMAO at 4:10-4:18 Joe Rogans funny without trying; "o shit whens this guy going to the hospital"

  • i like how joe has a lot of respect for the fighters, to me thats very important

  • @eddieshred92

    100 percent agree.

  • then you must be a sackless pussy who watches figure skating while drinking a green tea.

  • @theriftable And you must be a hostile, ignorant child. Show love instead of hate, kid

  • @theriftable aint nothin wrong with green tea dude

  • @theriftable LMAO.

  • @theriftable a perfect description of me.

  • @theriftable fuck figure skating but green tea is nice

  • @missionkid All hot beverages fucks up your stomach. Drinking near-boiling water or other liquid is NOT NATURAL. Tea sucks, it's cumbersome to make, it enslaves people through the massive industry behind it, most of it contains caffeine, and most people pour several pounds of white sugar into their bodies every year just through tea and coffee because the natural taste of it is so absurdly horrid. Just because a bunch of hippies love it, that doesn't mean it's good for you. Just opinion though.

  • @theriftable Kinda like Hugh Grant?

  • you think mma's circus-like? Try it out for a day pussy and we'll see how kiddish you think it is.

  • then dont watch it

  • yeah get hit with a superman punch you fuckin idiot and than bad mouth it.if that's your only fucking problem with it than shut the fuck up but u obvioulsy know nothinf about it you pussy faggot bitch id fuckin rear naked choke you.,

  • You make me embarrassed to be an mma fan.

  • you make me embarassed because im even replying to your stupid ass, your obviously not an MMA fan anyway, so fuck you asshole you don't know dick about shit.

  • Brandon Quick is Joe's buddy. Brandon Quick is Eddie Bravos top student Brandon Quick is a 10thPlanet Brown Belt Joe rolled with Brandon Quick Joe said Brandon Quick is AWESOME Joe Is a 10thPlanet student too Brandon Quick has now been EXPOSED as a FRAUD Eveyday the story gets worse. Eddie is trying to distance himself from the fiasco. But Eddie trained Brandon and JOe. And now Eddie and Joe are EXPOSED as FRAUDS. And you are Joe's fans. How sad for you.
  • Joe is a great comedian, great announcer, and a great Jiu Jitsu guy. Eddie Bravo is one of the best Jiu Jitsu guys in the world and created another form of Jiu Jitsu, which could revolutionize the art from an MMA standpoint and in general. How are they frauds? Because Joe is a student with a fraud? Because Eddie teaches him? Even though he was exposed it doesn't mean he's bad at Jiu Jitsu, and don't bash Eddie for staying away from bad publicity... why would he want to tell people that?

  • Eddie Bravo is a great bjj practitioner but most of what he "created" was actually just giving some crazy stoner names to a lot of shit that had been used in various types of grappling for quite awhile. He's great at marketing and wisely living off of his adcc win over gracie years back but he's not nearly as revolutionary as some people think.

  • How is MMA street fighting? How many street fights do you see with people using BJJ on eachother? MMA is awesome, no more needs to be said.

  • What happened did he fuck your girl?

  • Lightweight Champion -Hawaiian/Korean

    Welterewight Champion -French Canadian

    Middleweight Champion -Black

    Light Heavyweight Champion -Brazilian/Japanese

How is it a trailer park white boy sport?

  • Because he saw Chuck Liddell and is too ignorant to realize it is the hardest and most demanding sport out there. It's guys like him who when fights break out are the first ones to run away.

  • Você é um idiota. Visit coral springs, florida

  • It must suck to have your head buried so deep in the sand huh GCB1982?

  • joe rogan = LEGEND hockey is a shit sport hu cares

  • Hockey is the toughest sport in the world. Try taking a hard rubber puck in the mouth at 100 mph or a skate blade across the throat. Nothing compares...

  • Yeah, but those things don't happen all the time. In boxing or MMA, you get punched, kicked, choke, etc. throughout the ENTIRE fight. A hockey playing getting hit and injured by a puck or skate happens rarely. That's like saying baseball is the toughest sport when a pitcher gets hit by a 120 mph ball hit by a batter. Sure, it sucks, and it could kill you. However, it rarely happens.

  • I do agree as one who loves and competes in both. Hockey is a bitch, but i love it.

  • hockey is tough, but not tougher than MMA.

  • I think a 90mph Liddell fist to the face is worse than a 100 mph puck

  • (Not necessarily saying i agree with this but...) They did a study a few years ago and decided that the sportspeople who endure the most pain and the most painful injuries is professional cycling.

  • LMAO I will bet u a million fuckin dollars that the toughest hockey player in the world won't cut it in the octagon, I guarantee that shit, dont get me wrong, I'm not saying hockey isn't a physically demanding sport, it is, those dudes r tough, real tough, but hockey is NOT the hardest sport in the world, MMA is by far a way harder career to continue on than hockey

  • yeah but that stuff rarely happens getting punched in the face happens every night you fight.

  • I played hockey and wrestled throughout high school and wrestling was a lot tougher (More physically demanding, more mentally demanding, hurt more). Now take wrestling, and add punches, kicks, knees and submissions. MMA is tougher by far.

  • I can sit and listen to him talk all night

    no homo

  • yeah dude me too. especially if you're a huge UFC fan!! joe rogan is awesome!

  • "i mean come on dude that guys a bad motherfucker!"

haha i love joe rogan, what a great UFC commentator

  • Ok this man is great but he undermined me by saying ufc rejects and drop outs were the only other fighters fighting in other promotions, blah blah. I get it but thats not quite what i meant. I want to see the BEST. Many fighters are denied to ufc in my opinion because the media likes the champions in place at middle weight and up. The 3 hard hitting weight divisions could be ruled by fighters outside of the ufc. Melivn Manhoef, Fedor , Aleksander, etc, etc , etc.
