@FunktasticLucky to be different i guess its all just an idea and if i run higher compression the ported 94-95 intake will hold a lot better for spray that is if i wanna go that way not saying i am idk its not like i cant change it later anyways
I'm telling you man... upgrade to the PI intake manifold. You're looking at 15RWHP gain and better for higher RPMs. If you have a nitrous backfire and it blows up the intake so what... They can be had cheap haha. But you shouldn't get a nitrous backfire if you do it right. Wet shot with a window switch. That's the way to go.
i had mine with the same hot air intake like this one, and i know i lost a lot of power. i read that u cant take away length from the mass air meter from an ohc motor, and i will say they are right. i added a true cold air kit sucking in air from the outside, and adding length, and the power came bacl. all cars come with cold air intakes from the factory, and i found these conical filters really other than looking good, done reallt do anything. cool car. i
it wasn't the length... It's as you stated it's a hot air intake. If I let the car sit and idle for a while and watch the air charge temperature (the air being sucked in by the engine) and watch on my laptop I can watch how much timing the computer pulls when using this hot air as opposed to the cool air. If I start driving it will eventually cool all the air around it and you can see the computer start adding the timing back in.
I have a 96 as well. It was a stock 3.8, but it's been removed and a 95 3.8 SC motor with a stroker kit now powers it. Need to get it tuned but it's under 3 feet of snow right now, so Im going to be waiting a while.
its better when people dont know its a v8. the look on there face when u beat umm would be awsome.. but if people cant tell that from the sound they dont deserve to own a vehicle
It has the factory wheels on the front in this video.. Thanks, we like the sound for now.. High flow cats & Flowmasters will make it sound even better..
nice bird but you've done the PI swap with 2500 stall, 373 gears, trac lock and your only running 14.6? a stock pi mustang gt will get low 14s easy. you should out run or atleast be very close to running the same times.
PI stangs are about 400 lbs lighter.. That is 4ths.. He ran a 2005 stang & was dead even all the way down the track.. It needs to be tuned & that will add a bit more HP..
Brand?? Like I said other comments, I'm not sue as it was taken off a mustang at the dealer that I worked at..
Changes, IIRC the rubber isolaters where different sizes.. And the intake temp sensor had to be moved/rewired. It also hits the strut tower/ac lines, and the air filter hit th hood. We had to cut the isolater at the T/B to get the right angle to clear all the above items.
svostang, over a year ago you were saying she had almost 300RWHP. Seriously.. without pics this is just spouting off some bull... If you send me a Dyno sheet then I'll believe you but I can safely bet that car is not putting over 240RWHP down.
Well now you can shut your mouth!! I just had it dynoed last night.. 253HP@5343rpm & 281TQ@4261rpm!! I'll post up the video in a few days, very busy this weekend!! We have run into a large timming issue on the dyno.. This winter we are going to have it tuned by the guy that dynoed it.. Cost $400 but he said that we could get between 15-30hp more baised on the lower graph.. At 4300rpm it started pulling timming.. With a big jump up at 5k You can hear it go flat in the video..
Those Calculators are highly inaccurate. I could throw 4.30's in my car and it would be much faster in the 1/4 mile but I'd still have the same HP. And if I remember correctly you've got 3.73's as well so that's where you're shaving off time. My car was running 14.3 at 98 MPH at the track with 2.7 60ft times. I put down 217HP before the mods.
ahah No I mean I ran 14.3 with 217HP to the ground with the GT motor. Before the mods I meant before the ported heads and camshafts. I'm still tuning the beast with the mods so I haven't been to the track. I have been deployed for the last 4 months so I haven't been able to work on it. But she'll be finished up in the next month or so and getting a new 4200 stall Triple Plate converter.
That form is fairly accurate.. It does list it at 254rwhp, of which to on the dyno a few years ago it made just over 260rwhp IIRC.. The 330 is about 25% more.. It is trying to adjust for the drivetrain loss which is different for every car.. It has been very accurate for my other cars..
The dyno sheet said 250's for the HP & 283 for the TQ.. I remember the TQ well because my F-150's 5.4 beat his TQ# but fell short in the HP.. I made 322 RWTQ but only 224RWHP..
I used a simple formula that is on a local dragstrip site.. Input the weight & your best 1/4 mile time & you get the RWHP & an aproximate flywheel HP.. At 4000 lbs running 14.6&96mph it stated that it has 254 at the wheels & 330 at the flywheel..
The intake parts where taked off a mustang (96-98 year that was traded in at the dealership that I was working at the time.. Could not resell the car with that on there, so it was taked off & put in the garbage.. I took it out a mad it fin the bird.. A bit tight with the hood, but works nicely.. No problems after it was installed..
i just got one lol im somewhat inspired do you know how complicated it would be to put a cobra swap stck shift and everything anyone that can help thanks nice red coler on your dads tho mine is white.
couple questions. with the 75mm throttle body what did you pay and was it really worth it. i have found a couple in the mid $200 range but i hear its not worth it second the underdrive pulleys, do you have any problem with the electronics? i heard you can loose power buy making your alternator work harder and not put enough power to your spark plugs..
Got the TB from FRPP at cost,(about $125) because I worked for Ford.. There was a thorttle responce improvement.. With the pullies, there is a noticable dimming of the lights & charging system with the head lamps on & idling in gear.. Other than that, noticed no charging differences.. Never heard anything about loosing spark, because of the pullies.. Once above 1000rpm the alt is making full power..
2nd... Don't try to over inflate your numbers. A PI swapped Bird puts down probably 235HP to the ground. Maybe 240. If you have a dyno sheet to prove me wrong then I'll shut up.. I'm still writing the tune for my Tbird trying to get it to idle but the Cams are making it very dificult for me.
Also IAT's have quite a bit to do with the engine. It determines how much Spark will be added or taken away. Data log the computer sometime.
The hp# came right from the dyno sheet! The 325 flywheel is a estimate from a dragracing weight/trap speed calculator. I'll see if I can get the exact hp# from the dyno sheet(dad needs to find it). Going to have it retested for x-mas. I'll have to record it & post it for all to see.
First off. Nice bird. But there was some bad tech in this chat.
First off... PI Intakes can be put on NPI heads no problem. The only thing that doesn't match up exactly is the coolant ports and you just use RTV in 2 spots with the PI gaskets and it works just fine. It's good for 15HP. Proven. The PI cams are good for the other 15 to make 30HP total. The PI heads are good on NPI's cuz they boost compression to above 10:1 since hte PI engines had dished pistons. NPI's aren't.
Very nice bird. I have 94 LX 4.6, I have the same exhaust set-up. And a shift kit in the tranny. I was wondering how much the P.I. heads and intake ran you.
i got the same car but mines just a lx and the 4.6 with a intake and exhaust but how mush was the superchip i was thinking bout gettin one either superchip or hypertech
I the chip was one of the first things that he bought, so back in '96 is ran about $250.. It makes a big difference after all the mod's that we did.. ran it once without it & there was a noticalbe difference.. Hope that helps..
2) The stock airbox is not as restrictive as you think...
3) You can put a PI Intake on NPI Heads... If you guys want more info on how to do this, send me a message. I have done this to my TBird ages ago and to a few other cars. It is worth 20 RWHP...
4) Don't put a manual transmission in these cars unless you like breaking half-shafts...
2) The stock intake items are fairly rough inside & this intake kit was taken off a Mustang & was given to us FREE!!
3) Yes you can, but the ports will not match up correctly. Must have some port work done to the head to make it flow correctly. We did this PI swap (heads, cams & intake) back in 2000, before there was any really good info on the topic. At the time, I don't think there where a handful of stangs with this done, no birds at all. Made it very different back then.
that "cold air" set up its terrible, i have a 1995 v8 and i did the same thing, the intake sucks up air from the engine bay which is much much much warmer than if you left the stock air box on on a 70 degree day with the stock air box the IAT said about 71 degrees, when i put the cone filter on and took the airbox off it was at 94degrees, to bypass that get a tube to go into the bumper and mount the filter there
This is not a "cold air" set-up.. That would go into the fender or under the air dam.. The factory air box is very restrictive, & this air intake setup was not only free, but had to be adapted from a mustang.. It did show a added difference of the track over the factory intake..
ohhh so its not a "cold air" its just a less restrictive intake, ok, well if you do decide to make it cold air it'll improve what you have already improved on
Making it a "cold air intake" will not improve it much.. What are the gains?? 5HP?? That is not even a tenth of a second in the quarter mile.. If the air temp only goes down 20* then it is not worth it.. The car was ran at the track on hot days & cold days, still ran the same #'s.. Either 90* or 50* outside, no faster..
Left the stock cats cause it cost just over $1000 just to put headders on it.. Those are comming soon.. Sorry to say but the car was dynoed before the stall was installed.. The steel wheels are for the snow tires.. It snows alot up here in WI & this was taken in January.. We will be getting some sticky M/T's some time this summer.. That will help out the traction issues.. It will also be getting Flows when the headders get installed.. Thanks..
...Why would you leave stock cats on it? Thats robbing your power not to mention sound...No mufflers sounds bad..Get some Flows. It made good power becuase of the stall..It converts torque to the wheels. The dyno guy prob has never dynod a stalled bird with PI swap as its kinda rare. Why run steel rear rims? Get some Nitto Street/Drags for traction. Good start though!
Dam thats nice man! I had just picked up a 91 5.0 HO in great shape. Didnt know what I was getting into, all I knew was that it was very well kept, clean, clean motor and all. Its stock no one ever changed anything cept the fluids and some minor things that it needed over time. Again nice T-bird! thx for sharing the video.
I'm restoring a '93 with the 5.0 HO. The tranny needs to be rebuilt and if I can do it I'd like to just put a mustang tranny in it, any problems with doing this?
I'm not sure about doing the Mustang tranny. Unless it has already been built, I would just have yours rebuilt.. I think that the Stang trans is the same as a t-bird, but not sure..
mustang transmission is set to 'hard shift', the tbird tranny is set to 'soft shift' (meaning you don't feel it as much, typical luxury car thing). the problem is the soft shifting causes a lot of unnecesary wear. i'm just not sure if its a mechanical setting or if the computer is involved.
If you keep the V6, making it breath better is first on the list.. Better exhaust, intakes.. I would look at getting a v-8 car if you really want the v-8.. Lots of work to install a V-8.. I'd look for a 4.6 from a t-bird/mustang.. 95-96.. Then install the PI heads & intake.. Have to do a trans also..
About 325 at the flywheel, high 280's at the rear wheels.. TQ was just under 300 at the tires also.. The dyno guy was shocked to see a n/a bird but up such good #'s.. He stated he had never seen a n/a bird make those hp #'s..
This prob was a V8 to start with but just as the Mustang had a week motor (215 hp) until 99 when the PI (Performance Imoroved 250hp)) model came out..Hotter cams and way better flowing intake. This guy swapped the top end onto his block most likely.
Have you noticed a big improvement with the underdrive pulleys? On a budget with my 96' Bird. i only have a K&N cone filter, and Flowmaster Force II cat back. I'm try'n to find the best bang for the buck. I'd really appreciate the feed back
We did the pullies at the same time as doing the throttle-body, & intake system.. All together there was a noticable increase in throttle responce & upper rpm pull.. Nothing major.. With the underdrive pulleys the charging system drops really fast when at night with the lights on.. If ideling in gear for a bit, it will not charge the battery.. We put it in neutral to let the rpm come up to charge the battery.. Hope that helps!!
Just doing the intake will not work without doing the heads also.. The ports will not match.. It took me about 10-15 hours total for the head/intake swap.. I had never done a SOCH motor before, but was not bad if you just take your time.. The resoults are well worth the effort.. About 60-75 hp gain.. Torque about the same..
cool, yeah i used to have good low end torque when i had the cougar, then when i replaced it with a shorter conical filter, the low end grunt was gone. then, i added length, and the power came back, but unfortunatly, i put the filter to low, and i hit a puddle, and it sucked water in the engine, and that was it. i eneded up having it totalled from the insurance company. i would like to get another t bird or cougar, they are great cars.
one thing i see, is the hot air that the filter will suck in. i had a 97 cougar, and i had it outside the engine compartment. also, if u take away length, it will lose power. i did the same thing here, and lost a lot of power. i read about it in magazines, and never believed it, but its true. nice car, i wan to get another one soon!
Once the car is moving then it will not get much of the hot air.. We gained power in the upper rpm range when going to the open air-filter.. The shorter the tube the better power in the upper rpms.. With having the PI heads, the car does not make much power below 2500 rpm, but comes on really strong (almost like being turbo charged) from 2500 to 6000 rpm.. Makes beating up on the imports a lot of fun..
Man, I love the 90's T-Birds, I hope they make them again like this. The retro was nice, but not a real performer and too expensive. I hear they'll be coming out with a Fusion coupe, whaddya think about them giving it the T-Bird name?

@1sikbirdy Why on earth would you use a 94-95 intake... WORST INTAKE EVER. Like no joke. Stick with a PI Intake. Best bang for your buck.
FunktasticLucky 1 year ago
@FunktasticLucky to be different i guess its all just an idea and if i run higher compression the ported 94-95 intake will hold a lot better for spray that is if i wanna go that way not saying i am idk its not like i cant change it later anyways
1sikbirdy 1 year ago
@1sikbirdy

@lilmel2002 It did not have tear loc from the factory.. I simply ordered the unit right from the parts dept at the dealer that i worked at the time..
1984SVOstang 1 year ago
i had mine with the same hot air intake like this one, and i know i lost a lot of power. i read that u cant take away length from the mass air meter from an ohc motor, and i will say they are right. i added a true cold air kit sucking in air from the outside, and adding length, and the power came bacl. all cars come with cold air intakes from the factory, and i found these conical filters really other than looking good, done reallt do anything. cool car. i
steeldragon20002000 2 years ago
it wasn't the length...

@fallenskater715 Witch emblems?? The V-8's?? They came from a 94 t-bird.. The 4.6's came from one of the aftermarket catalogs..

nice bird but you've done the PI swap with 2500 stall, 373 gears, trac lock and your only running 14.6? a stock pi mustang gt will get low 14s easy. you should out run or atleast be very close to running the same times.
zo0yoRk69 2 years ago
PI stangs are about 400 lbs lighter.. That is 4ths.. He ran a 2005 stang & was dead even all the way down the track.. It needs to be tuned & that will add a bit more HP..
1984SVOstang 2 years ago
thats a mustangs CAI right?
what brand is that intake looks like a bbk?
what EXACTLY did u change on the CAI/intake to make it fit ??
thanx alot for the info
jason1160 2 years ago
Hope that info helps.

1984SVOstang 2 years ago
svostang, over a year ago you were saying she had almost 300RWHP. Seriously.. without pics this is just spouting off some bull... If you send me a Dyno sheet then I'll believe you but I can safely bet that car is not putting over 240RWHP down.
FunktasticLucky 2 years ago
Well now you can shut your mouth!! I just had it dynoed last night.. 253HP@5343rpm & 281TQ@4261rpm!! I'll post up the video in a few days, very busy this weekend!! We have run into a large timming issue on the dyno.. This winter we are going to have it tuned by the guy that dynoed it.. Cost $400 but he said that we could get between 15-30hp more baised on the lower graph.. At 4300rpm it started pulling timming.. With a big jump up at 5k You can hear it go flat in the video..
1984SVOstang 2 years ago
Those Calculators are highly inaccurate. I could throw 4.30's in my car and it would be much faster in the 1/4 mile but I'd still have the same HP. And if I remember correctly you've got 3.73's as well so that's where you're shaving off time. My car was running 14.3 at 98 MPH at the track with 2.7 60ft times. I put down 217HP before the mods.
FunktasticLucky 2 years ago
how were you running 14.3 with only 217hp?
65ShelbyCobra11 2 years ago
oh you mean 14.3 now with the newer GT motor right? thats a bad ass bird you got
65ShelbyCobra11 2 years ago
ahah No I mean I ran 14.3 with 217HP to the ground with the GT motor.
FunktasticLucky 2 years ago
That form is fairly accurate.. It does list it at 254rwhp, of which to on the dyno a few years ago it made just over 260rwhp IIRC.. The 330 is about 25% more.. It is trying to adjust for the drivetrain loss which is different for every car.. It has been very accurate for my other cars..
1984SVOstang 2 years ago
where did you get the cold air intake?
46v8bird 2 years ago
Off a 96-98 Stang.. Was going to be thrown out so we made it fit the Bird..
1984SVOstang 2 years ago
how did you get 325hp at the flywheel? it seems like alot for just the pi swap, intake, pulleys and programmer..
and nice bird 14.6 is a pretty good time.
65ShelbyCobra11 2 years ago
That's what I said. A stock PI swap is like 220RWHP with a good tune in our cars. I'd say 270 at the crank if he's lucky.
FunktasticLucky 2 years ago
The dyno sheet said 250's for the HP & 283 for the TQ.. I remember the TQ well because my F-150's 5.4 beat his TQ# but fell short in the HP.. I made 322 RWTQ but only 224RWHP..
1984SVOstang 2 years ago
I used a simple formula that is on a local dragstrip site.. Input the weight & your best 1/4 mile time & you get the RWHP & an aproximate flywheel HP.. At 4000 lbs running 14.6&96mph it stated that it has 254 at the wheels & 330 at the flywheel..

The intake parts where taked off a mustang (96-98 year that was traded in at the dealership that I was working at the time.. couple questions. with the 75mm throttle body what did you pay and was it really worth it. i have found a couple in the mid $200 range but i hear its not worth it second the underdrive pulleys, do you have any problem with the electronics? i heard you can loose power buy making your alternator work harder and not put enough power to your spark plugs..
zo0yoRk69 3 years ago
Got the TB from FRPP at cost,(about $125) because I worked for Ford.. There was a thorttle responce improvement.. With the pullies, there is a noticable dimming of the lights & charging system with the head lamps on & idling in gear.. Other than that, noticed no charging differences.. Never heard anything about loosing spark, because of the pullies.. Once above 1000rpm the alt is making full power..
HTH..

FunktasticLucky 3 years ago
The hp# came right from the dyno sheet! The 325 flywheel is a estimate from a dragracing weight/trap speed calculator. I'll see if I can get the exact hp# from the dyno sheet(dad needs to find it). Going to have it retested for x-mas. I'll have to record it & post it for all to see.
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
First off.

1) Don't put Flow-masters on the car.
5) It is a nice looking TBird...
TGJaws 3 years ago
2) The stock intake items are fairly rough inside & this intake kit was taken off a Mustang & was given to us FREE!!
3) Yes you can, but the ports will not match up correctly. Must have some port work done to the head to make it flow correctly. We did this PI swap (heads, cams & intake) back in 2000, before there was any really good info on the topic. At the time, I don't think there where a handful of stangs with this done, no birds at all. Made it very different back then.
5)Thanks
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
that "cold air" set up its terrible, i have a 1995 v8 and i did the same thing, the intake sucks up air from the engine bay which is much much much warmer than if you left the stock air box on on a 70 degree day with the stock air box the IAT said about 71 degrees, when i put the cone filter on and took the airbox off it was at 94degrees, to bypass that get a tube to go into the bumper and mount the filter there
fancylikethat 3 years ago
Comment removed
zo0yoRk69 3 years ago
This is not a "cold air" set-up.. That would go into the fender or under the air dam.. The factory air box is very restrictive, & this air intake setup was not only free, but had to be adapted from a mustang.. It did show a added difference of the track over the factory intake..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
ohhh so its not a "cold air" its just a less restrictive intake, ok, well if you do decide to make it cold air it'll improve what you have already improved on
fancylikethat 3 years ago
Making it a "cold air intake" will not improve it much.. What are the gains?? 5HP?? That is not even a tenth of a second in the quarter mile.. If the air temp only goes down 20* then it is not worth it.. The car was ran at the track on hot days & cold days, still ran the same #'s.. Either 90* or 50* outside, no faster..
Thanks
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
true but your car would be slightly more fuel efficent wouldnt it hence makin it worth it when he drives it daily
PureSPLprix 3 years ago
I don't think that it will make a difference at all.. Nothing noticable..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
Left the stock cats cause it cost just over $1000 just to put headders on it.. Those are comming soon.. Sorry to say but the car was dynoed before the stall was installed.. The steel wheels are for the snow tires.. It snows alot up here in WI & this was taken in January.. We will be getting some sticky M/T's some time this summer.. That will help out the traction issues.. It will also be getting Flows when the headders get installed.. Thanks..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
...Why would you leave stock cats on it? Thats robbing your power not to mention sound...No mufflers sounds bad..Get some Flows. It made good power becuase of the stall..It converts torque to the wheels. The dyno guy prob has never dynod a stalled bird with PI swap as its kinda rare. Why run steel rear rims? Get some Nitto Street/Drags for traction. Good start though!
Cheers,

Dam thats nice man! I had just picked up a 91 5.0 HO in great shape. Didnt know what I was getting into, all I knew was that it was very well kept, clean, clean motor and all. Its stock no one ever changed anything cept the fluids and some minor things that it needed over time. Again nice T-bird! thx for sharing the video.
Mano94 3 years ago
I'm restoring a '93 with the 5.0 HO. The tranny needs to be rebuilt and if I can do it I'd like to just put a mustang tranny in it, any problems with doing this?
sstearns34 3 years ago
I'm not sure about doing the Mustang tranny. Unless it has already been built, I would just have yours rebuilt.. I think that the Stang trans is the same as a t-bird, but not sure..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
mustang transmission is set to 'hard shift', the tbird tranny is set to 'soft shift' (meaning you don't feel it as much, typical luxury car thing). the problem is the soft shifting causes a lot of unnecesary wear. i'm just not sure if its a mechanical setting or if the computer is involved.
thanks anyway
sstearns34 3 years ago
If the birt trans was set to "soft shift" then why did my dad's bird chirp the tires into second when it was brand new??

i just bought a 96 t-bird...and its got the v6 in it :( but what could be good mods to do..or where can i find a 4.6 for it? please help
plane45036 3 years ago
If you keep the V6, making it breath better is first on the list.. Better exhaust, intakes.. I would look at getting a v-8 car if you really want the v-8.. Lots of work to install a V-8.. I'd look for a 4.6 from a t-bird/mustang.. 95-96.. Then install the PI heads & intake.. Have to do a trans also..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
would it be easier to just buy a v8 thunderbird than to waste time doing a engine swap?
plane45036 3 years ago
I can't really say.. I've never swapped one so I'm not sure what all is involved.. I would think that it would be easier..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
u pushin around 350HP u supose?
plane45036 3 years ago
About 325 at the flywheel, high 280's at the rear wheels.. TQ was just under 300 at the tires also.. The dyno guy was shocked to see a n/a bird but up such good #'s.. He stated he had never seen a n/a bird make those hp #'s..
1984SVOstang 3 years ago
This prob was a V8 to start with but just as the Mustang had a week motor (215 hp) until 99 when the PI (Performance Imoroved 250hp)) model came out..Hotter cams and way better flowing intake. This guy swapped the top end onto his block most likely.
Cheers,

Have you noticed a big improvement with the underdrive pulleys? On a budget with my 96' Bird. i only have a K&N cone filter, and Flowmaster Force II cat back. I'm try'n to find the best bang for the buck. I'd really appreciate the feed back
Scottw3318 3 years ago
We did the pullies at the same time as doing the throttle-body, & intake system.. All together there was a noticable increase in throttle responce & upper rpm pull.. Nothing major.. With the underdrive pulleys the charging system drops really fast when at night with the lights on.. If ideling in gear for a bit, it will not charge the battery.. We put it in neutral to let the rpm come up to charge the battery.. Hope that helps!!

shit cant do that to my car then my stero would kill my battery!

how hard is it to do the p.i. intake
eric2074 3 years ago
Just doing the intake will not work without doing the heads also.. The ports will not match.. It took me about 10-15 hours total for the head/intake swap.. I had never done a SOCH motor before, but was not bad if you just take your time.. The resoults are well worth the effort.. About 60-75 hp gain.. Torque about the same..

cool, yeah i used to have good low end torque when i had the cougar, then when i replaced it with a shorter conical filter, the low end grunt was gone. then, i added length, and the power came back, but unfortunatly, i put the filter to low, and i hit a puddle, and it sucked water in the engine, and that was it. i eneded up having it totalled from the insurance company. i would like to get another t bird or cougar, they are great cars.
steeldragon20002000 4 years ago
how much money you got in mods in it?
zo0yoRk69 4 years ago
When we did the mod's I worked at a Ford dealer, so I got most all the mods at cost.. I would say about a total of 2K in everything..
1984SVOstang 4 years ago
one thing i see, is the hot air that the filter will suck in. i had a 97 cougar, and i had it outside the engine compartment. also, if u take away length, it will lose power. i did the same thing here, and lost a lot of power. i read about it in magazines, and never believed it, but its true. nice car, i wan to get another one soon!
steeldragon20002000 4 years ago
Once the car is moving then it will not get much of the hot air.. We gained power in the upper rpm range when going to the open air-filter.. The shorter the tube the better power in the upper rpms.. With having the PI heads, the car does not make much power below 2500 rpm, but comes on really strong (almost like being turbo charged) from 2500 to 6000 rpm.. Makes beating up on the imports a lot of fun..
