LOL! I'm so glad I'm not on either end of the scale. I breastfeed, use disposables, have had her vaccinated, have just put her own room (5 months) but before that she was either in her moses basket or crib, we go to baby groups, we'll be disciplining when she's older, she will have home-made food but I'm not fussed whether the ingredients or organic or not (and the odd jar or ready-meal here and there won't hurt her) and the TV is sometimes on during the day so I can get some housework done!
I'm in the middle here. I use cloth diapers, have an alternative vaccination schedule, and do not allow television. I also formula feed, give proper discipline, and make everyone sleep in their own bed.
Very funny & true. i couldnt breastfeed as my bub was 3 months premmie and couldnt suck feed for 2 1/2 months. people judged me coz i didnt breast feed but i expressed for 3 months until my milk eventually dried up she was tube fed for a long time and then onto bottle coz she had a really hard time sucking as she was on oxygen and breast was too much. it was not my choice and people who judge should keep quiet coz u dont know wot the other person could be going through.
I think I'm somewhere between these moms. No vaxes, no (pre)school, but also no elimination communication, rigorous schedules, breastfeeding past one or co-sleeping. Guess both sides would hate me.
too funny!!! I know both of these mothers! ....I am about to have twins, and am sure I will be more like the mom with twins! :) oh...so much to say about the blonde mom....hahaha!
Any comment on Babywise, Eat, Play, Sleep? It sounds totally nutz to me. It seems like a lot of Christian churches are pushing this method on first time moms to train the little buggers to stick to a rigid schedule and cry themselves to sleep to the point where they just give up and learn to sleep when they're hungry. It sounds batshit crazy to me and the American Association of Pediatrics says it could lead to "failure to thrive". Got any babywise experiences?
This is awesome! Please do one from an inter-racial adoptive parents perspective, there's a wealth of material to draw from- trust me. The questions/comments I get every day- oi!
Ladies, ladies. I think this video was just made in good fun. Not meant to stir up contention. I am a mother of 3 girls. I have been both of these mothers at one time. I don't judge anyone for their choices. Each child has different requirements. My oldest is much different than my younger 2. I cannot parent her the same. I do agree that you can go over board though.
I find it a little pathetic that people like that lady in the video feel that they need to brag about thing like how they raise their kids in order to feel better about themselves or feel superior to others. I'm not a parent myself, but the way I see it I think you should do what you feel is best for your kids regardless of what others say and do, and to not let others tell you others tell you otherwise. Parenting is not, and shouldn't, be a competition.
Absolutely see this way too many times. People - just a generation ago we let kids ride in the back of trucks, play outside with friends unsupervised for hours, get scraped, bumped, fall off bikes, etc. And they all survived. If you find yourself agreeing with blond mom - you should really take a look at your parenting. It'll be just as outdated as stuff from the 50's/Dr. Spock stuff looks today. It's all fad with little real scientific backing beyond a couple short-lived studies.
@Mompetition How can you say "Ladies, be nice," when you've posted a video that makes moms who happen to breastfeed, co-sleep, homeschool, buy organic food and cloth diaper look like huge jerks?! I don't brag about my parenting decisions at the park, or belittle other moms for theirs when they differ from mine, nor have I met anyone else who does it. That's screwed up. I'm not better than anyone else; I just make decisions that I feel are aligned with my personal ethics. I'm also not blonde. :/
@erthemama I didn't see the video as mocking moms who breastfeed, co-sleep, homeschool, etc. It was her judgmental nature that was being mocked--the fact that, unlike you, the mom in the video DOES brag and belittle others for raising their kids differently. If you've never met someone who does that, who finds a divergent parenting choice and gets on their high horse, you're lucky.
Dutchie. Are you retarded? I am alluding to the types of moms who act like the "blond" in the video. Take a class in reading comprehension, please. And apologize. Dumbass....
You hate blond moms@OkieAtty holy cow, I can't believe some say that or group blondes as a whole when most are not real blondes! I'm a mom, I have kids, they are great kids! No one is perfect! You judge people by hair? U need help!
Respond to this video... Great video, neither is a friend, they are not friends! It is difficult when people compare and also compete in life over trivial things that should be kept personal.
@Dutchiegal42 You don't get this is satire??!! Please tell me you are joking about procreating. Or at least tell me the sperm donor is a member of MENSA so as to balance you out.
This is SO me and my sister. Hint: I'm the black one. My 3 boys watch TV and play video games, go to public school, and don't go to church every Sunday, and you know what, they haven't killed anyone yet! (In fact, all 3 are honor roll students, well behaved, and the oldest has a full college scholarship). Her 5 kids are home-schooled and the oldest is not going to college because "we as a society place too much value on a college education." (Never mind that her husband is an engineer!)
Hi@drmot49 this is so true! LOL, it's unfortunate that's what lives boil down to these days but it's not like back 20 some years ago when people were open minded and did what they felt was best for their kids no matter what others think.
Nobody likes power moms who think they have super babies.

Again, some people need to learn to lighten up and laugh once in a while. You're missing the point if you're missing the humor in these videos.
