One thing I will bash is Apple's insistence on you having the latest hardware. PCs don't go out of date in 3 years. G4 owners got screwed with Snow Leopard, XP users can use Vista (piece of crap I know) and 7 with little or no cost.

My Personally prefer Macintosh over any operating system. Ubuntu Linux is a not-too-distant second. Windows for me is a last resort.

BTW, they are not exactly the same. Maybe 90%. (bluetooth is not standard in any desktop other than mac.) Mac needs mods and hacks to work on non apple hardware. After these hacks, it is not as tight or integrated as an actual Mac computer, so it doesn't run as well, spec for spec.

For the physical side of things I'd rather PC. With their desktops they are a tower. Mac desktops are these skinny screens! the only difference between a mac pro and a mac desktop (physically) is a bigger screen and a cord... The difference between a PC desktop and a laptop is a lot more, you have a tower. I will NEVER get a laptop (mac orPC) cause over heating issues ijust dont trust them. If I wanted a mac id get a laptop and plug a screen in. if u want a tower mac... then sure spend thousands

I've been using PCs at home for my whole life and switching towards Mac this December. I do really want a Mac because I am getting out of online gaming and more into console gaming, if you want to game, just game on a console, there's more of a challenge. I love PCs for gaming and customization and ease of get programs. But there's too many viruses. Macs are much better for arts, which I'm getting into, such as photos, music, and video.

I agree, my brother is a mac hater and has never used one for more than 5 minutes, he really shouldn't judge a book by its cover. (doesn't really work here since macs look nicer than pcs) I use OS X 10.5 93% of the time now. I used to use my pc (with windows 7) all of the time (before I got a mac) and was frustrated with it having blue screens everyday, so I have used both over time and my final thought is mac is better.

Soldier, you're right, everyone should use a mac. Because the experience can only strengthen you in ways that you never imagined. Like I personally learned that I don't have to get work done. I can just let the thing freeze on me each time I edited a photo or each time a DVD didn't work and froze the entire system..stuff that NEVER EVER happened to me on a PC. So, there, yes, mac has some things that windows doesn't...even if it is all just spiritual strengthening....allelujah!

For one, a Mac is a PC, you can tell me it is not, but it is, it's a PC, which runs OS X, just like Dell, HP, etc is a PC, that runs Windows, etc.

The only thing about OS X, that I would find usefull, is the Photo Booth, but even I could do nice quality videos, if I got a better camera, I can do exactly the same on a Windows PC, if not more, than a Mac PC.

leopard is superior to windows. I think mac laptops are the best out there and worth the money, since you can run windows and os x threw boot camp. they mac desktops do seem a little pricey to me, but with all the software your getting w/ it its the same price macs just cost more upfront. it would take you at least $300 to get equivalent pc software to match iLife.

Yo, you are a joke man. Shake is a COMPOSITING program, not a 3D program. I use Maya and ZBrush, and trust me these programs run much better on Windows. I use Mac OS X Tiger (Tiger was installed when I bought it). I used Windows for years but I really love my iMac. I think the only thing I'm disappointed with (it's not Apple's fault) is the fact that some devices don't work on Mac. My Mac doesn't recognize the movie files from my new JVC Everio HD camcorder and that's a bummer. I'm considering installing Windows on my Mac just to be able to download from the JVC. I have to buy more memory though. I think you're great and I thank you for sharing!
