  • I remember they had this at my local YMCA, and I would play it all the time.

  • Ahhh this sooo takes me back : ) thanks!

  • Love it, takes me back 20 years to when we had this in the canteen at work :D

  • remember playing this game and wishinh one day to be driving a nice fast car with a hot girl down the coast. it came true! yay

  • Alright, own up, who's the one guy who disliked because they couldn't drive manual?!?!?!

  • There NEEDS to be a remake of this for future consoles. No question.

  • You don't have the slightest shadow of an idea of what this kind of video games mean to me. Though I know many relate to this kind of memories.

  • kick ass music! listen to splash & flash by naoya matsuoka it sounds really similar!

  • Back when arcade games were actually good - all you had was a joystick and a couple of buttons... Nothing else but the smoothest tunes to come out of a video game... Those days were great!

  • Good memories!!

  • Those graphics were really good for 1986!

  • The tune at 7.27 is the best bit.

  • 100% Free Video games - 100% Legal thru steam - Points2game D O T Com

  • does anybody know the name to the last song??

  • @elitemal87 Passing Breeze.

  • @elitemal87 Correction. I see which one you mean now. I have no idea. Sorry!!!

  • :D AWESOME!!!

  • e' bellissimo

  • The sound track for Out Run is video game music's Thriller album, every song is a hit, and they are very popular. Thanks Renegade!!!

  • Although I was a NES fan back then in the 8-bit era, this one should be paid the rightful respect.

This one had sequels all the way to the PS2 ** that I can remember ; ) **

A legendary and great game indeed

  • this reminds me of rad racer

  • @wackbrownies240

rad racer was made to compete with this

  • What could be better than bombing along in a Ferrari with a blonde bird at your side with this selection of classic tunes blasting from your sound system? Nothing. I tells you............ nothing!!!

  • Unbeknown to the driver, the blonde has herpes :-(.

  • @Ragitsu yeah, the gift that keeps giving. lol

  • @Thunderchief35 How about some weed on the side. seriously!

  • I used to spend all of my quarters on this game when i was a kid. Damn that brings back memories.

  • Hiroshi Miyauchi = Legendary.

  • @youcantubeittoo Undoubtedly. . .

  • i love them all

  • Last Wave is my favorite song, is very relaxing.

  • Magical Sound Shower!

  • Outrun is brilliant. I was on a motorbike touring holiday a couple of weeks ago in France and had the music going round my head as I rode on the motorways. Classic!

  • Never played turbo outrun. Was it as good as the orginal? May I'll YouTube it hey remember shinobi that was a good game too I recently got it for xbox 360 if ure a sega fan then u should no what I'm talking about

  • I played this game when I was 15 years old now I'm 37 it brings back memorys of arcades and I had it for all the home systems Now I need an iPhone version

  • I know how just how you feel. one question though: Out of all the sequals you have played, do you still come back to the original? For me, none of the other sequals did it for me except for Turbo Outrun.

  • I can't play this game without listening to Splash Wave.

It's odd, because I wasn't even born when this game was around. I'm 15 years old and I have played more games that are older than me instead of games from this generation.

I just find driving as fast as I can to Goal B a tad more entertaining than blowing the heads off of Nazi Zombies

  • Good for you man. I recommend the Top Gear games if you haven't played them already. Great sense of speed for the time and totally awesome tunes as well.

  • I've already played all Top Gear games for the SNES and N64, and my personal favorite was Top Gear Rally. God, that music is really kick ass.

  • @Nintendavin Top Gear is good but it's no Outrun.

  • It's nice to know that you have an opinion. As do I.

I personally like Top Gear over OutRun. But I like both games as a whole.

  • you can get original arcade outrun for the MAME arcade emulator complete with original music.

    google it

  • Passing Breeze was the best

  • Comment removed

  • outrun is good old and news games

  • salsa olé

  • Yeah the music is so good in fact, that some of us can't help ourselves but to actually play this stuff. I had worked on an arrangement of that last music for several years before actually having the equipment to mix one.

  • I love the tunes to this game.

  • i love the last song

  • cool old game. music is still great.

  • outrun and star tropics both have kickass music. gotta love the tropical carribean sound ^^ ya know

  • la seconda canzone mi fa venire i brividi...mamma mia che ricordi..

  • this game was dope

  • ugh.. folks, when he said "dope" he meant it in a good way- like awesome, tight, jolly blaaah

  • Its not even possible to see the road on the last track

  • Also, good call on including the ending theme. That's probably the best emulation of the DX7 Rhodes patch I've heard on a YM2151.

  • Arcade Outrun had some of the best video game music ever - but in this video the youtube compression is really messing with it. Any time there is a break in the music the next you hear has WAY overdone volume.

  • youtube's dynamics compression thingy really is hopeless, ARE YOU LISTENING YOUTUBE? HOPELESS! GET RID OF IT! Otherwise, great video.

  • lol 5:58 all the way! Chillin out drifting yeaa!!

  • Well played!! This was one of my favourite childhood's game. Is this recorded from your PC? PLEAAAASEEEEE tell me how can I get this game on my PC? Can I download it from somewhere? like a torent or something? Did you played it using a steering-wheel? Too many questions :) if you got time please answer me. Thank you!

  • calm down man. Download an emulator like MAME or KAWAKS, you can have almost any arcade game on your computer if you got the hardware

  • the first song was feattured on the medley sidoligy 2 by the progressive metal band Machinae Supremacy

  • I use to finish his game on a Commodore 64 but never the arcade machine!! great game! :-)

  • so, who's driving? the guy or the blonde chick?

  • in fact is a dwarf that is below the steering wheel

  • shit....i'm a kid again...i love this although i had spectrum version and had to listen to this seperatley...

  • I love hearing game tunes like this.

  • Crazy soundtrack, i played it at 7-8 years old, and i remember it perfectly!

  • I was real good at this arcade game, even tho i hardly could reach up to the steering wheel on the arcade cabinet xD i was 7years old and real short xD

  • DAMN I love those tunes soo much!

  • Great stuff!

  • aw yeeah. I'm trying to track down the Genesis cart and it's turning out to be hard to find

  • i got a mega-drive pal version boxed with instructions for sale on ebay should work on the genesis.

  • Never really played it much, but I always liked the Magical Sound Shower track.
