  • Nice. AJP seems to have some really nice turbo kits and people that know what they are doing. I wish AJP would do a turbo kit for a 1999-2000 Honda Civic SI. I love the B16A2.

  • @boston3party520 There will be a blowup alright..... very soon.... the engine actually. I had a Civic. Bone stock... just very abused.... and at 50k it burned a lot of oil.... and compression was going down....

  • @guyd37 As long as he changes the oil and spark plus regularly, he can drive this for years. He needs FlashPro, though.

  • @ajperformancecom I had a civic. I ruined the engine but after 50k of awful abuse but they are tough. Just not sure if it can last with that much boost and stock internals. I can't think of a timing belt that can handle that power.

  • for whatever reason even though the car has 550 whp + it still looks slower than lets say a c5-c6 vette when pulling on other cars (passing cars). Why is that does the power really feel like 600 or does it feel like less? is tunning a civic really a good alternative to maybe a faster car like a mustang or a m3? cost should not be an issue because a mustang, bmw and civic can all be bought for around the same price, if you dont belive check kijjiji or ebay.

  • @Mario4Italy As stated in the description, this car was hacked up by another shop before coming to ours. It came in barely drivable. It went out much better, though with some issues. Therefore, you shouldn't use this video as representative of how our kit works on a Civic Si.

  • @Bujorion Two of earliest customers made it past 60,000 miles before one built his motor and another sold his kit. It's all in the maintenance and the tuning.

    A good Hondata's FlashPro tune keeps it running fine.

  • @FuriousHondaBoy This car went to the Dominican Republic over a year ago, so we have not gotten any updates on it since then.

    There are 1/4 mile times of some of our other cars on our YouTube channel.

  • @HIT3291 A lot was wrong with it but suffice it to say, we inherited this car after the first shop took all of the money and gave the customer a poorly-installed turbo kit.

    The tuning for this car is not optimal because we had to work with the components that the first shop left behind and not our full kit.

    If the owner got FlashPro, he'd have a much smoother, more drivable car.

  • @xxnissansilviaxx The car still has the factory differential, though a few of our customers have reported great results (less torque steer) with the Wavetrac differential.

  • A limited slip differential allows some slip so you can go around corners (like the normal differential) but limits the amount of slipping so when you are driving with a heavy foot or are stuck, the one wheel only spins somewhat before the other starts to pull.

  • He built his motor, got our 3" exhaust, installed a Competition Clutch Stage 4 clutch disk and reflashed his ecu with the Hondata AJP turbo reflash.

  • @08MS3uknw Well over that because the first shop gave him nothing in return for his money, so he came to us to fix it up and spent several thousand more.

  • what is the new si a 2.2L like the H22? is it the H22 or is it something different. i'm a muscle car guy but my friend just bought a ls/v-tec swapped tubroed crx and i love the lil thing!

  • its a 2.0L K20z same engine from a acura rsx but the rsx is a k20a i think the only difference between them are the cams and intake madifold

  • If you boost from a roll, you're fine. If you boost from a standstill, then you'll wear the tranny out prematurely.

  • holy fuckkk. so amazing. a little story for you. i got a car for a grad present- i have a corvette [well my fathers] and i drive it [manual obviously lol] and i picked a civic ex-l auto because i didn't wanna drive stick at 3am drunk out of my mind. I look back at it..and i regret it SO much because of these things. this is remarkable- did you test this one on the 1/4 yet? i seen the one that did an 11.8. So amazing- it's equal to a stock Evo.

  • We didn't get a chance to test it on the track before it went to the Dominican Republic and Henry said there was no 1/4 mile track where he was.

    But Henry loved the power he had on the street.

  • Well, he's in the Civic Si family, so we treat him like a brother who's got a different perspective on things.

    We need to put more Civic Si's out there racing other cars and beating them.

  • Didnt say it was impossible. But it takes careful tuning. I have already watched the vids. I was impressed. To me it just seems odd my opinion. You can do so many more things NA, the control is more efficient, throttle incredibly responsive, etc. Id really be honored to drive my NA FG2 against and an AJP Turbo one. Id show you some unique things even a race tuned turbo setup cant do. Than again, id learn some things to. Regardless, great job. I wouldnt mind this kit for a little fun myself, lol

  • Hopefully, there was nothing in my reply that implied that you said it was impossible.

    We're not out to change the landscape of forced induction. We're putting a product out and letting our customers do with it what they will.

    While it might be interesting to learn things about NA, in the grand scheme of things, we're focusing our efforts on developing a turbo kit for the R18, supporting our Si customer base, and looking for some racing opportunities for our shop car.

  • Its a cool setup but some brand of cars just werent meant to be turboed, my opinion as an experienced driver. Hondas are touge/track type cars. They were made for that. A turboed civic wouldnt last on the touge and its takes really good tuning for one to last in a track battle. Most professional civics that anyone sees will be NA. BUT, just to have some damn fun on the freeway? eh. why not who cares! Boost the crap out of it, lol. Good job guys.

  • We like the fact that Honda of America Racing Team took our turbo kit to the Redline Time Attack at Virginia International Raceway in October 2008 and beat the previous course record by 7 seconds for the Unlimited Division, FWD class. In the process, they beat several RWDs.

  • yeah when i went over to the ajp shop this car was there and it was all fucked up. i was standing up and i could see the intercooler piping coming out from under the bumper. it was nasty. but the guys at ajp told me that that whole shitty turbo set up costed him around 16k because of added internal damage repair. anyway looks like the guys at ajp did what they do best! nice job

  • The exhaust was so badly installed, it melted his back bumper, banged against the rear spring and melted more plastic underneath the car.

    We had to saw the downpipe in two to get it off.

    That low-hanging intercooler piping that we replaced was really amateur. He would be hitting every speed bump and pothole with that kind of setup.

  • this guy must have alot of money to blow on his car. Still awesome though, how long do you think the motor (although I know its built) will hold up to that boost? I don't really know anything about turboed civics

  • Too much money for the kind of work he got the first time around. The K-series motor is a tough beast.

    His built motor should handle that kind of power just fine. It's going to be oil changes and spark plug changes that determine how long his motor lasts.
