It doesnt really suppress... You should look into the setup in the TM GSpec. They have a diferent setup. They use inner cones to push the sound into the foam rings. Works much better.
@2JJD2 in fact, it does. the camera i used during this video did not pick up the sounds very will. i will try to refilm this video soon with my newer camera and mike.
your probly gettin tired of people askin questions about this but could you possibly post a video of you shooting it with and without the supressor, but only have the camera out a ways, pointed at you.(it seems like in this video the camera mic is picking up the sound of the gun itself(click of the trigger and spring sound) more so than the actual sound coming from the barrel. if you can do that i could put the sound in comparable waveform so you could show people the difference . thanks
@richslayerbc08 oh wait...i really...REALLY need to finish watching videos before i write comments about my ideas hahaha...ill have that waveform thing done for ya soon.
@1H1TSN1P3R so basically, you have two sections of the suppressor: the ssynbol felt segment and the plumbing foam segment. the plumbing foam is only there to fit around the barrel so the suppressor doesnt move. the symbol felt sits in the rest of the tube to dampen each shot. i used a paper towl role as a casing for the felt to make it easier to install.
When we get the drum symbol foam should we hot glue them to the inside of the carboard roll, and then hot glue the carboard roll to the inside of the suppressor? Also, about how many foam rings should we buy?
Your silencer is great. I made one just like it, but instead used green scourge pads (the same stuff on the back of some sponges). It find that its helps a lot, but my friends don't understand that it is only supposed to remove the high pitched frequencies of the gun firing, which makes it much harder to locate in a forest area (But its not designed to stop people from hearing it).
If you could make a really quick vid of actually making it that would help a lot. Its kinda hard to tell what you did with the cymbal foam and cardboard tubes
If you go to guitar center or something for the "drum cymbal foam" and you ask them for it (it was behind the counter at my local one) say "drum cymbal felts". You will look like an idiot if you say "drum cymbal foam" because I have tons of it lying around and it is clearly not a "foam" substance.
@JFreak85 a rail mounted bipod or hiarris style bipod can be attached, however, both have to be installed via custom modification because there is no rail or harris bipod adaptor.
@KrewArmyAirsoftCo this suppressor can work just like any other suppressor, covering up a barrel that protrudes from th outer barrel. the length is therefore up to you and how you make it.
Great vid. i went to my local hardware store and music store and got all the materials for under $20. it works amazingly. the only problem i had was the whole in the cymbal foam was too small so i am using a screwdriver to strech it out..
is it possible to take a fake supprosser that stores sell and attach this supprosser to it or something like that just so I can get it solid with no wobble
its still loud but not a loud noise that like uhh hard to explain a diffnt noise that is loud but makes it not loud,,,, hope that sum 1 reads this they under stand,, other ppl that dnt get his at all srry
My suppressor screws on to a counter threaded drilled bolt fixed to the end of the barrel. My friend made it for me and it adds about 7" to the barrel. Great vid, man. If any one plays airsoft in IL, I'm the CO of MERC6 and we train on 18 acres of woods and fields year round. Would like more people to work with in big events. We're mostly former military but we're not a MilSim. Gotta make it fun 4 the civies, too!
i will give it a shot then because i just got my wellfire g22 and i thot it would be quiet... but its pretty loud and gives away my position... so im guna make one outa a pvc pipe, my drum simble thum and some normal foam
you must be from another country, there is no accent. the other store, other than lowes, is kennelly keys. its one of the main music stores in the area.
great video, never seen anyone use acoustic fabric before.
do u have different chambers inside the supressor?
and u should pack the tissue paper tightly inside the outer barrel around the inner, thats stops the sound wave of the piston smacking the cylinder head and echoing down the barrel. and also get some rubber cylinder head dampers aswell. u can either make some urself or buy some laylax ones.
the drum rings are situated inside of a toilet paper role to compress them into one unit to make it easier to intall. the unit then sits between the end cap (washers in this case) and the pipe foam actiing as a sound reduction device.
Is it possible to remove the front sight on the socom gear r700? if so, how?

slayerkid91 2 years ago
i think i was about an inch and a half or so. not quite sure.

what i ended up doing was cutting stips of the insulator and making three bracing rings on the tube so it fits in realy snug

if i put a 150sp spring in my bar10 would i HAVE to upgrade the internals?
IxSHOTxYOU 2 years ago
no, but your gun would brake in less than 300 rounds.
ASTKilo23 2 years ago
ok, so if i got a new spring guide and a reinforced piston it would be fine?
IxSHOTxYOU 2 years ago
you would need those two items and a new piston sear and trigger sear. those cost about $20-$35 each.
ASTKilo23 2 years ago
one last thing, if i just decided for a 130sp spring temporarily i wouldn't need upgrades yet would i?

probably better that you do, but its not necissary.

Most of your sound comes from your spring. Just get some soft rubber and glue it to the end of you spring and the cylinder head.
