There's probably no extreme metal you'd like but if you want to see a good example of the potential musical value of it, try listening to any song from the albums Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance by Death. You may not like them but I'm sure you'll find musical value in the songs. I used to hate death metal but I got used to it and now I love it.

They actually have great instrument playing from everyone involved, some of the best I've ever heard. Just try the song Sacred Serenity or Crystal Mountain. I promise you'll find musical value in the instrumental work. Or if you're so put off by the vocals that you can't listen to any of it, try Voice of the Soul. It's an instrumental song.
