  • Steve, i cant wait til Sat, Its gonna be buzzin, last saw you in Stoke-on-trent when a was about 13, av got mucho respect for your Atitude ! Ihave about the same view 1st belcony as this vid, White Mohawk ;)

  • @Elektrapunk1 i agree. what the heck was he thinking of, what a sell out & he wrote a book what an idiot,

steve ignorant? more like steve cash cow :0)

  • Make this number 1 someone do it.

  • 4.16 They show you how to rap correctly . fuck i wish i had been at that gig. .

I would have paid no more than £5.00 to see them. Top class Crass love it for my own reasons , i hope you do too.

  • Cant stop watching this soo good fun.

That young lass does an amazing job on that stage , she makes the intro perfect!! Respect.

  • the bit from 0.33 gives me goose bumps fucking love it!!! reminds me of being a teenage punk in the 80s lots of ideas and no chance to express them, ty uploader for this fantastic vid respect.. more please???

  • 1982 i left school and along came crass, thank fuck for that, 1 thing good came from the 80s. (people who say init-for isnt it) should be fucking slaughterd.

  • @underfedfish I'm sure people on here could come up with much better examples than me, but modern political punk bands that come to mind are Propagandhi, Low Threat Profile, early Against Me!, Choking Victim/Leftover Crack, Refused, there's also a lot of Mexican/Latino hardcore like Los Monjo right now that's awesome (although it's in spanish so I could be wrong half the time). Hopefully people will add their suggestions on here as well, because I'm just pulling from the top of my head right now

  • Tomorrow!!!!!! FOX POMONA!!!!!!

  • this guy has got sooo much go in him ! top geezer !

  • @underfedfish I'm also not trying to patronise you, but you're probably out of touch. There's lots of underground punk and other genres going on that say plenty. When you get older you don't have your ear to the ground anymore and you just assume everybody stopped carrying. It's out there.

  • FUCK ALL THE BULLSHIT, TRY TO GET THE MESSAGE. AND IF YOU DON"T. YOU'RE JUST A PART OF THE PROBLEM.

  • @underfedfish im young and all i can say is that there is something terribly wrong with this world and the music its shitting out today

  • @DrRichardRimjob The problem is you. Kill yourself immediately.

  • @rothco40 I'd show up to see them anyway. :P

  • That last comment was exactly 500 characters! Now thats PUNK

  • I'm reading these comments and some of them make me laugh...Theres no such thing as selling out...what the fuck does that mean anyway? You should forever stick with some idealogical half formed bullshit notions you had as a teenager for the rest of your life?...thats not very progressive now is it?If you choose to stop evolving thats your choice and good luck with it.But I dare say the majority of folk will get tired of listening to you spouting the same guff year after year..then it'll just be u

  • "if you really wanna sing it, just sing along ! but don't think the end result is making you strong"

  • The guitarist even had the " steve jones " stance lol ... love crass but dont think i'll be going to see em anytime soon ... plus steve ignorant didnt even reply to my Fb request !!!!

  • is there a video with this complete concert, if so whats it called, this is awesome!

  • Don't go if you can't go or afford it.You don't have to be skint to be an anarchist .Steve was and is the most working class member of Crass.Just because he's trying to make a pound note on the back of Crass don't make him an evil capitalist.Nice bit of entertainment.Don't like it don't fuckin go you twats.

  • .Nice one curranrules!-What is it with all these "Punks" DICTATING to others on what they should do or say or wear or think?.......save your energy for taking on the people that need changing- I'm going to see Steve Ignorant nxt week.

  • Ate you listenin' Mr CAMERON

  • I love THAT THIS GROUP IS RELENTLESS IN ROCKING OUT THE REAL PROBLEMS . EVEN IF IT HASN'T CHANGED THE WORLD IT'S CHANGED ME MAYBE SOME OTHERS of youi OUT THERE.

  • @youronly They changed me. This song woke me up to think for myself and accept myself for who I am and for who others are but not to sit back and just take the bullshit that is dished out to us. Change starts within ourselves and we can spread it by how we live and how we treat others.

  • @youronly if crass's music has changed only you, then it has changed the world

  • look at all the well dressed punks in the audience, lovely hair, beautiful band tshirts

ever heard White punks on hope?

    get a grip

crass used music to fight the punk music, not to use as a celebrity get together

i dont think punks quite understand

  • agrre mate. but the world needs both steve ignorant and jello biafra. nothing has changed. its just got worse

  • Coglioni, abbassate la cresta davanti a un monumento del genere!

(Balls, lower the crest in front of a monument like that!)

  • The more agit prop the better.

  • Seriously all you people complaining , i went to a Rainbow gathering last summer and i can say that these people were the most Judging finger pointing you dont believe in my philosophy and you wont bow down to me people ive ever seen.

Well all you so called Anarchist people complaining here are the exact same thing , to satisfy your ego you feel the urge to judge him saying he sold out , your no better than what this song claim , steve dont do this because we will judge you !!

    Fools

  • sellouts? I'm beyond all the punk rock stuff and calling him or her or that band or this band sellouts or posers, but to be frank on the subject, CRASS is nowhere near being sellouts. They sparked the light for bands like Honey Bane, Conflict, Dirt, and so many more bands.

  • Comment removed

  • SELLOUT CUNTS!

  • Steve Ignorant? I can't see his face. To me it looks a little more like Steve Wilkos.

  • hahahahahahahaa that made me laugh

  • Good Lightshow!!!

    Thats Anarchy.........

    lool

  • Great song eh? They were fantastic at Durham. Cheers Steve, gawd bless ya!

  • this is cool because steve ignorant is there, thats all

  • isidro19890, this is not cool because Steve Ignoarant is there.

    Fucking sellout.

  • yea that was directed to: arkam101

  • one of the best thy did comeon bk boys an girls

  • These songs mean more now to me. The way the world is fucked up now.

  • umm last i checked the world was always fk'd up aint that why they made their music ?

  • the bassist erupted out of the fucking drums... :O

  • whats song? this song?

  • big a little a

  • oh sorry i know the name of this song. thnx anyway. i was just replying to another person's comment i think. i just dont remember who or what i was talking about?

  • Big Dogs Cocks! bets fekn band ever!

  • Did I hear a brass section?

  • Comment removed

  • it's not really anarchy, it's just a lack of government, not the overthrowing of government. and it doesn't work great in war torn, drug riddled, wasteland Somalia, a country which no other will trade with for fear of pirates etc.

  • Comment removed

  • i didn't say it would. although an anarcho communist society has happened in Italy, rather successfully. people need to distinguish between anarchy (no government) and communism ( one state, all peoples equal)

  • yes or ill kill you in your sleep to proveit

  • Anarchy won't work because humanity is full of fucked up capitalists and people who don't give a fuck about eachother. Mankind of this ages is a slave of money and individualism. Excuse me for the bad grammar.

  • your reason is anti-communist not anarchy

anarchy is the forceful removal of government, to be replaced by an every person for themselves mind set. Communism is a universal state without personal possessions, all things are owned by the communist state who divide everything equally including work loads, all persons are equal and have the same opportunities. no nations, flags, borders, money, racism, crime, power, ageism, sexism, slavery etc etc. all of these are tools to separate the WC

  • ANARCHY = IDIOCRACY...it will never work. People can't co exist peacefully in a small apartment complex how are people going to get along WITHOUT a government??? LOL...

  • do they get along WITH a government??

  • one of the best songs by crass

  • I've loved Crass for most of my adult life, and I have no problem with Steve doing his thing. But seriously, those guitarists are trying to turn it into as modern punk show and it did not work. Jumping around and playing next to each other? Fuck off. Steve's voice was the show, not you assholes. Love it either way.

  • whats so bad about them getting into the music

  • or not. the sugarhill gang were rapping in 1975, ditto grandmaster flash, who both influenced the clash

  • Every other band has had their moment in the sun, why not let the members of Crass have their 15 minutes as well? music is made to be enjoyed as well.

    Fuck, did i hear horns??

  • Albert Tatlock!

  • im to thick to understand any crass records great song .i prefer the exploited

  • youre a dick

    oh shit

    i spoke out

think what you are sayin when people like me were there when it all kicked off

    fight ok

  • "in a non homo way" haha at akward homophobia in the peace punk scene.

Steve Ignorant's reponse for tour "nigga I got kids to feed".

  • Either way, with your crap comments, it does nothing but show the dredge that your life has become. He had the decency to come out and play after his fans asked him to. No one gives a damn about your opinions.

  • at 0:44 the guitar player is jumping like if he was in a warped tour gig... sad...

  • Sad

  • kind of song that sends a shiver up your spine aint it? well for real fans x =)

  • damn he's still got it :D

I love him... in a non homo way... he's an ugly bastard but such a good man

  • And what's wrong with being 40+ and drunk?

    Fucking eegit that you are.

  • who were once drunk 15 year old idiots

  • This show wasnt suppsed to be "Crass", on the flyer it said steve ignorant + special guests or somthing preforming feeding of the 5000 but not crass, so shut up, no shit it aint crass

  • cr(A)ss!!!!!

  • ok, in response to the price: they needed to support a large crowd, so they needed a venue, the venue would be taking a large proportion of the ticket price, plus they had what looks like an expensive lighting rig (not that im an expert on lighting) and a very clean live sound, this wasnt a tin hut gig, they needed the money or the show wouldn't have been any good.

  • that and it was the feeding of the 5000 weekend. all the profits went to feeding the hungry i believe. but im not possitive.

  • why are people freaking out just cause he used a backing band to sing some awesome songs that people in the crowd was excited to hear and sing along to just cause people had to pay to get in, did you see the size of the space i doubt they would have let them use it if they made it a free concert and of course someones gonna attack me or call me an asshole. Never thought anarchists could be such whiny little babies honestly.

  • there were actually a lot of bands playing it was like a festival and shit i would have paid the money to fly out form the states to london and paid the entrance fee to get in to that seriously i would have paid any price if i would have known about it a couple months in advance

  • Who gives a toss what they're doing now. It's the idea's they put out that's important.

  • Jesus this has bought back some fantastic memory s.

  • Also people saying 'play a squat' does a squat look like it could support that kind of croud? And crass lyrics still have meaning today to different people, Dick heads tend to forgot the good things crass have done and from day 1 when they outlined there political beliefs people have been waiting for them to slip up. Crass are not sell outs nor money chasetrs and 30 years of music and political beliefs can not be disregarded after 1 gig. People need to fucking open there eyes.

    Rant over

  • Everyone slagging off crass. Everyone knows Penny Rimbaud was the driving force behind crass and one persons actions dosent make the whole bands political beliefs invalid. This wasent a gig to make money this was a celebration of Anarchopunk music i.e Flux,Conflict etc. Steve ignorant is about 50now so what if he is makin a bit of money for himself in his later life. Anyone doubting crass look at Penny still living by his beliefs 30 years. Also people buying £15 shirts are rippin them selfs off.

  • wtf, does´nt even anarchists gotta have some money to buy toiletpaperfor?

  • Shame on you "Steve". You manged to capitalise on your legacy to make a profit and not a stance. SHAME ON YOU/SELL OUT PROFITEER!

  • please turn on your bullshit detector!

  • We're talking about Euros and not Sterling, was 4-5 good famous quality bands for that.

Anyway I grew up with these bands so I just had to go!

  • still, 35 euro's are a lot of many for some ANARCHISTIC-bands...

i can't believe what happened with the anarchopunkstream, it all became comercial shit...

i grew up with crass as well, crass is the reason i'm an anarchist, but i'm starting to lose my trust in bands like crass and zounds as i see the costs of a show like this...

at least dirt is refusing such a comercial shows...

respect to dirt, crass and al those bands played @ feeding of the 5000 lost my respect...

    peace

  • Fair enough mate, daycent reply.

I should add that I grew up in Ireland so we never got to see most anarcho bands let alone the "big£ ones.

  • what i wanne know is just how much costed a ticket for this show;

    big names as 'zounds','crass',...

hope it was cheap beceus alse i need to agree with the people who say that steve sucks indeed and that he's a shame to us, anarchists...!

  • about 35 euros per night//

  • I didn't see you at the convention. Were you at the seminar on chaffing?

  • Whoa. I sincerely apologize for the erroneous comments. I loathe computers.

  • I completely agree. Although the Clash isn't one of my favorites, I agree that they didn't change their message or go against their mission/vision as a band. However, what Steve has done here is simply deplorable. Truly. And especially because of the song choice. Big A, Little a??? I mean COME ON!

But I guess I should remember that Steve Ignorant is NOT Crass, and other members of the band/collective are still doing some pretty rad stuff without going against their ideals.

  • This is my best mate ... im so proud of her :D ... xxx

  • I'm just talking about how overproduced it seems, the light show, the big band. I still love all that this was and stood for. I don't have a problem with this, I just think the huge production is... you know, rockstarish.

  • all of theses steve probably and penny probably

just remember the message and not the people who said it frist

  • wait wait wait, is this green day?

  • its not CONFLICT. ITS STEVE WITH A BACKING BAND. CHRIST.

  • ok its a bit cheesey, but crass were important , they raised awareness and without them you undoubtly not have the anti capatalist groups of today .this still sounds impassioned, maybe steve will go on to do more with a new group!

  • kinda like crass the crusty corpse... but thanks Steve for the best fucking music ever! also check out Crucifucks live _ Go Bankrupt and Die

    ... where's the freedom?

  • this is conflict is it?????

  • no, it's steve ig n a band he put together for the event.

  • sorry i menat isn't in reply to rienpost

  • A few words: Steve Ignorant was actually the onlyone who had a working class background in the otherwise intellectual troup that was CRASS. When they decided that the show was over in '84, he probably was the one who went "huh? But we're at the height of our success..why stop!?". Conflict always looked very much like an attempt to buid something that worked and looked like CRASS. Poor Steve! He had probably hoped to jump on the 77 punk revival bandwagon with the other members of CRASS. Not them.

  • one of the best punk songs by any band

  • I like the clapping along bit.

  • im really beginning to think that alice bag is the only true punk left.. I couldnt stand seeing that footage of morris at vans warped, or the reformed germs.. and whats with the shorts? is it just me or does this vid look like a NIN concert?

(yes I had to endure watching that while couch crashing last year) the whole aesthetic is gone..the music too.. what a shame..still hate british punkrock but whatever..

  • I am so glad the guitar player for Metallica decided to play with Crass here. He rocks...

  • Yeah, they'll probably work out a rock opera together! How marvellous on my old days.

  • Yeah, makes me feel like a fool...should have gone sheep farming in the Falklands, instead of fighting the system...oh well

  • hUH ? Metallica guit player ? what ?

  • Yeah, that guitar player is the guitarist for Metallica...look at the "metal" posing that guy does too. It is all fake shit...I am bummed.

  • You got the brain of a fuckin fruit fly..............go join the army...cunt

  • tittyphilip...................

  • the lil girl in the begining

    LOL ^.^

  • Damn i wish i had known about this

  • My favourite is all Janer64 Crass footage thanks for sharing

  • This is so sick

    BLAM

  • awesomeness at its finest, almost makes me want a mohican again, bit old for one now.

    thanks for posting janer.

  • know the feeling, grey and losing it!! agree superb to be taken back,,, amazing video

  • What the fuck, Steve Ignorant?

Did you forget the name of your band?

    It's spelled, C-R-A-S-S

    Not, C-L-A-S-H.

    :\

  • Shu hut yu muth

  • Is that the guitar player for Metallica??? Sure looks like him.

  • this vid as ace but something is missing!andy palmer made crass the sound albiet in a very quite way but never the less his playing was very unuiqe

  • i saw crass at stonehenge in the early 80s and id never thought theyd reform

  • Said it b4 & say it again , I want to buy a large shirt from this gig. Anyone???

  • What do the others former Crass members think about that?

  • Penny Rimbaud was not impressed by it, others wished him luck.

  • Did'nt think penny would like it

  • Of course he wasn't. Penny was probably the instigator of the CRASS project. He never meant to have it resurrected as a dumb reunion project under the direction of Steve Ignorant. What comes next? A broadway style opera like Cats? A fashion label? What medication is Steve on?

  • Where you heard this fact that Rimbaud wasn't impressed ?

  • I was lucky enough to see Crass twice in my home town in the early 80s, don't quite know what to make of all this to be honest.

  • If you were at this it was totally fantastic, very few people who went complained on messageboards either.

  • it look better than the last feeding gig way back in 85!Did anyone else see Steve and Penny do they us a living back in 93 @ the Hackney Empire?that was pretty shambolic...

  • screaming jesus on a ferris wheel that is magnificent.

  • FUCKING AWESOME!!i like this!

  • one of the best gigs ever, total CLASSIC...

  • yeahhhh mint i was here for the weekend u have to get some more conflict tracksup

  • great upload anymore!!! wot about flux of pink indians!!!

  • Only have 1 song by 'em, secuirty stopped me filming a few times :(

  • this is what Mr Ignorant arranged mate. It's all planned with the promoter. Listening to Crass is a thing but this one is just something Steve has organized to make big money.

  • "secuirty stopped me filming a few times" WTF has it come to, that not crass as I knew them. Sell out.

  • Superb stuff matey

  • Yes!!!!!

Think they're all Saturdays bar the Shaved Women up!

  • Excellent, I'm guessing from Saturday as Steve's still got a voice!
