The guy that plays Inspector Trout is the british actor Peter Jeffrey who played Max Prendergast in the 1967 episode The Joker of the Avengers TV show with Patrick Macnee & Diana Rigg. He was also in the 1968 episode Game & the 1966 episode Room Without a View. Great casting choice to make him Inspector Trout!

@MoveOverCasanova The organ isprobably just a prop anyway since it isnt even played for real, the one you hear at the beginning of the movie is a pipe organ, the one thats playing at 3:10 is an electrical Hammond tonewheel organ.

The organ spoled it Phibes a thetre organist and the splendid opening scene . then at one point the organ descends and the sound of a Totally Electronic instrument kicks in  ( hammond or thomas maybe ) then the Leslie speaker kicks in for the tremulant effect . Wonderful film but eh Director was definately NOT and organist

The mask one bothers me the most. The whole idea of crying out for help and no one bothering to even find out what's wrong and slowly being choked too death then your head taken completely off by a mask. The thing is like a vice, oh that one has always been the worst for me.
