  • her ears were SOOOO much cuter before. (I oppose ear cropping for a plethora of reasons, not just looks of course). I think dogs were made perfect the way they are, and floppy ears are one of the most adorable parts of a a dog.

  • @haleymariemackenzie

dogs are artificially genetic selected, modified animals by man so floppy ears are also an atrocity due to the fact that man did it because he thought it was better than spiky ears than those from a wolf as an example, they aren't natural. yes they are cute in a way but if not taken care of the dog could have awful infections.

  • I dont get it...they look much nicer with there ears

  • Ear cropping is so stupid. Glueing is a lot more humane. If it's not a show dog, why bother? My dog's tail was cropped, but that's because the breeder did it shortly after birth, and I had no say in it. My dog's ears will be glued in a few months to prevent folding back, but I'd never crop.

  • I got my ears pierced when I was a baby, I don't even remember any of the experience when they we're getting pierced. I don't think the dog is worrying about there ears being cropped, all they want to do is play around, and be dogs. There the same before and after. It's up to the owner.

Point blank: get over it, and stop complaining.

  • Why can't people just mind there own when they disagree. It is the owners choice back off! Dogs where bred for people so what a person wants is what the dog gets.

  • god didnt make dogs ears people did wolves foxes coyotes hyenas r like the only wild dog people breed dogs to were theyre at now every single species and as a result they dont function properly in theyre enviroment because some breeds r bread for llooks wich also can increase risks of disese like dogs with skin over theyre eyes and i dont think a dog realy cares but il tel u in my human life ive expirienced more physical pain than ear cropping

  • I understand what you went threw. I had my APBT's ears done. it wasn't too bad but I don't know if i'll do it again. They were done also at 13 weeks..

  • Nice dog! The ear job turned out nicely. Which breeder did she come from? Mine came from Skansen's. I love how people stop to admire giants. They're different. Check mine out...

  • Thank you for sharing Clara's ear cropping with us. I think they look great. Puppy Giants look good with their floppy ears, but nothing compares to adult Giants with cropped ears, they look absolutely great.

  • looks cute

  • fucking stupid cunt

  • i have 2 dobermanns and both of them have cropped ears, they put them to sleep when they do the cut and they give painkiller just in case of some pain can be there , but when the puppy is young enough the nervs dont go to the point of the ears so even without painkiller they will not suffer...

oh and by the way when i was baby my parents made my ear pierced, did i agree ?? NO !

earcrop = less humidity in the ear so less chance for mushrooms.

  • It is similar to a human circumcision. Was it my choice? No. Am I happy it happened? Yes. Am I scarred for life and never recover? No.

  • @Climber022 Because you don't know different! But do you know how it was made? Do you feel good that your parents gave you as a Baby to some pervert to touch your dick and cut off a private part? And BTW, the foreskin is not a useless piece of skin! It is filled with thousands of receptors which provides most of the erogenous stimulus. Thanks to the circucision, you lost up to 80% of sensation in the glans. You don't believe me? Look it up!!! Circumcision on Babiesneeds to be banned!!

  • It is now banned in the UK. I love to see their ears natural, but thats just my preference. Gorgeous dog though.

  • Why is everyone a pussy? ITs a DOG!!!... you hear that. DOG!!. We kill cows, chicken, fish, pigs.ECT every day thousands of times a day. So how is cropping a dogs ears even a little bit mean? I dont get it, People are so stupid. I have had 3 of my dogs ears done, and each one was playing as soon as the anastesia wore off. Sure if they hit there ears on something they would fell it, but only for a week or 2. EVERY dog owner I see that has a dog with cropped ears takes VERY good care of there dog

  • Yes we kill animals for our consumption but to make feel pain an animal just for fun or vanity is disgusting. Piercings, tattoos, etc, is our choice but to crop their ears isn't their choice, it should be banned. (about your nasty question, you can crop your pussy or chop your dick, that's will be up to you to do it too)

  • @Ls7colorado

It's not about being a pussy.

It's about the unneeded ear chopping.

Give me one good reason why it should be done?

Infections in the ears? I think nature made dogs ears just fine as they are, If they get infected ears you just fail is a master.

They have beautiful ears, why cut them off..?

    Pointless and selfish.

  • @xxjonkoxx Yep its pointless "other than looks" and it is selfish thats it.

if I want a schnuazer with cropped ears thats what im going to get. If I want a hound dog with ears on the ground, thats what ill get. Its all about personal opinon, but you know that.

One thing I cant stand is people that pull the ovaries out of a femal or cut the sack off a male just so they wont have blood anywere 2 times a year and to keep the male from running off.... THATS SELFISH!!

  • it is nicer if you only do it on pitbulls, mastaffs.dobermans and bullys

  • nice looking dog dont listen to these fools TRYing to FIND a reason to say its wrong i think it makes dogs look awesome especially when done on certain breeds

  • Dogs communicate with their ears and tails. When you crop them you are damaging their ability to communicate with people and other dogs. Cropping should only be done for medical reasons. We need to change our mindset when it comes to fashion.

  • @Puck90

My schnauzer has cropped ears and still communicates quite well. It's not as if she can't move them at all. I can tell when she's concentrating on walking or if she's been distracted by something else, when she doesn't feel good, etc. I don't know how floppy ears would be easier to "understand".

  • Ear cropping does have a function. Through surgery it replicates the position of ears in wild canines, which all have upright ears. This increases sound location ability and reduces the incidence of ear infection. A floppy ear covering the ear canal creates a warm moist environment for bacteria. If given a short, wide "working" crop the recovery time is minimal and the ears will stand within a couple of weeks. The long "show crop," which I don't like much, always takes them longer to stand.

  • ROSE GOMEZ I THINK YOU,RE A HOT BABE.

  • Nothing happens when you crop ears you pussies. its just a simple procedure that if you take care of when young then they dont even care. just like circumcision.

  • they do care... they must wear that e-collar, those stupid cones right when they should be puppies having fun, and it is painful too... ask the dog if they like it! I am sure they would have a different opinion. pussy is who cannot accept their dog as is, and want a dog that looks mean!

  • It an elective surgery done under total anesthesia with prolonged recovery times, frequent rechecks and unnecessary pain. It is not as innocent as you mention, AVMA is trying to ban it ,it is banned in several countries and Banfield vets have stopped doing it for some good reasons!

  • I agree with SF91701. Dogs should not be treated as fashion accessories There are of course many more serious issues going on, but this should not be used as an excuse. Owners should be educated about ear cropping and AVMA is fighting against it and it is banned now in many countries. Love your dog as is!

  • Janet....darling I did not crop her ears with my teeth.....I don't use my dog as a fashion accessory, I walk her i don't wear her.... Some would say that circumcision is also cruel, and barbaric, they don't ask the child......And , Janet I lovemy dog as is...

  • @rosegomez07 lol good answer. now shutup people.

  • @rosegomez07 I think the ears look great and for some ppls lifestyles the ears need to be cropped so they dont get caught up on things....but I am getting a schnauzer soon and was wondering what is the best age to get them done? Thanks,

    Shay

  • Where did you get the ears cropped ????

  • I think Clara is beautiful and WAS adorable as a younger pup with natural ears. I don't understand the desire to mutilate natural ears for aesthetic reasons? She obviously didn't have any say in the matter and you waited so long to have it done as well! I think it is barbaric to put any animal through this procedure for the sake of an owner's personal preference on how a dog should look. If you notice many breeders now leave the ears natural as well.

  • "the desire to mutilate natural ears" wow, SF91701 you make me sound like a Nazi....She did have something to say in the matter...she wanted a nose job to.. but i had to put my foot down on that one... It's a doggy dog world SF...But, your right, the boxer down the street just had breast implants... My heart almost broke when my little Clara told me she felt she could not compete...What a hard lesson i have learned..........

  • Good reply lol. rosegomez07 We had our min. schnauzer's ears done (many years ago) and it wasnt a big deal. He didnt act like he was in pain at all. It gave him an alert look, that was his personality. He had NO EAR INFECTIONS! We are now owned by a Lab. she is 7 years old. We have to constantly clean and dry her floppy ears or elce a PAINFUL ear infection will set in. I wonder how a yellow lab would look like with croped ears? just kidding.

  • Thanks Vicki.....

  • @vicki25blue the ear infection thing is a myth.. German Shepherd with erect ears remain one of the breeds more prone to ear infections..

  • Then you certainly must think it's barbaric when they fix the dogs, no?

An awful lot more gets chopped of then.

  • Comment removed

  • Fixing has many medical reasons, I worked for a vet and many vets are no longer doing it it because they find it medical unecessary and painful

  • no blobblob, fixing is medically necessary, ear cropping, is not. it is just because of owner's ego, sorry to put it straight as that.

I am a vet and stopped doing ear croppings a couple of years ago. The owners stated she would not put a dog through this again. Happy to hear that as this is not the first time I have heard that from other owners.

  • Fixing is not medically necessary. It is a choice made for convenience, to prevent individuals 'inferior' to the standard from reproducing, and to prevent 'oopsies', etc...

  • actually medically, that is from a prophylactic point of view, spaying prevents potentially fatal pyometra, uterine, ovarian cancer and greatly reduces breast cancer, where in males it prevents testicular cancer. It does as well prevent ''ooopsies, as you like to call them, lol!

  • Handsome schnauzer. But ya, I think 13 weeks is a little old, but the ears came out pretty nice. Congradulations on a beautiful animal.

  • Beautiful dog, both ways round. I had miniature schnauzers growing up, and they were always cropped. Never had a problem. I personally like the "alert" look much better, but the dogs personality is whats important.

However, keep in mind, sometimes it is better for the dog when the breed is normally cropped. I have a 6 y/o doberman with flop ears, and we deal with constant ear infections. The vet said cropping usually avoided the infections. Not a bad thing to do, but personal choice.

  • I had a video up of my new Giant puppy that we adopted at 1 year who had a really bad ear job, which we had re-done... and I got a lot of harrassment for that, which I think was un-warranted. We would have kept natural ears, but his breeder gave him a boxer cut, and the ears would have never stood up if we hadn't re-done them. If he already had the ear job, it might as well have been done right. :/

  • ...I don't know why People think earcropping is Fashionable,I disagree with you all.My Dog has long ears,They aren't cropped yet he looks as cute as any dog with short ears..

  • I AGREE

  • Any dogs are cute,Cropped ears can cause Infection if not properly Bandaged.I hope Clara is Doing Ok.

  • Clara is doing great,as you can see from my other videos of her, she is loved and needed. I make sure she gets exercise,I take her to the beach every now and then, let her play with other dogs. There are a lot of people that think ear cropping is inhumane and they may be right in SOME cases. Sporezi, your concern for ear cropping comes from a good place. Although,Spaying and Neutering should be more important, a trip to the Humane Society is more alarming, I think it trumps my ear cropping.

  • Thanks.Oh,Clara Looks like my Dog maxy Now,Yet more fuzzy O-o; Lol.

  • OH!!! your dog is so beautiful!!! how exactly do you get your dog's ears cropped? do you have to put thm=em through surgery?

  • wow she looks really beautiful.

  • thanks....

  • Cute! I didn't have Mika's ears cropped because of the discomfort that they experience, but Clara's cropped ears do look nice.

  • In the future I don't think I will crop any future dogs ears. They look just as cute with the natural ear. Not to mention people made me feel horrible when i had it done. Too much drama for the dog and me.....you learn as you get older...

  • Don't let other people push you either way. Its a personal choice, to crop or not, assuming you get the dog young enough to do so. Today, vets use powerful painkillers, and infections are less prevelant than ever. Its suddenly okay to harass loving dog owners over cropping, but shouldn't they worry more about the MILLION dogs that are euthenized yearly in the US, and the millions more who remain homeless? Ears are small stuff compared to those apples.

  • Clara is such a real cutie before and after her plastic surgery; A real glamour pus!Congrats on being on the main page, all you tubers can see the new star!
