I remember this ad, and several of the other Purina Cat Chow ads like it. I think they were so cute! It didn't dawn on me until years later that the Chow-Chow-Chow dance and music was actually a take-off on the Cha-Cha-Cha! Hence the Cha-Cha-Cha music in the jingle!! By the way, for years now I've been trying to track down some 1970's ads for another cat food product by Purina called Special Dinners. I think it's still sold, but it's been bought out. Does anyone remember any of those ads?

How many millions of boxes of "Chow Chow Chow" were sold during the 1970s? Probably the most memorable commercial Purina made until "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow" (yes, Ralston Purina introduced Meow Mix in 1975, but when Nestle bought Ralston Purina, they spun off Meow Mix to another company...)
