I was a primitive baptist and am now a athiest. One factor you should know is that God chose those who will go to heaven and elected the rest to go to hell. How could you call that a moral?
I want to thank those responsible for this video. My 2nd Great Grandmother was a member of this Church in Milan before later moving to Missouri in the early 1900's. I am so glad for this info. God bless you!
@ Iseeit4u If this person’s in-laws believe as this person says they do, it is no reflection on this preacher’s position. I pity them for their misunderstanding of scripture. All things are not predestinated, such heresy is called absolutism and is more Calvinistic than it is Old School Baptist. It is certainly not an adequate depiction of the vast majority of Primitive Baptist’ understanding of scripture, neither of this preacher’s belief system.
Oh my goodness! What about faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. What about For I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation. You aren't using the Bible.
Faith is a gift of God. No man has faith before he is regenerated, born again and receiving the Holy Spirit. There may in fact be many persons who have lived, maybe some for only hours or days, who are among the elect, but have never heard God's word. If they are chosen, they were saved by Jesus at the cross, and hearing the gospel is not a requirement for their salvation. Jesus accomplished it all at the cross. He cried out: "It is finished!"
Then you don't believe taking things out of context/taking away or adding to the word is a sin....it's in there also. For example read Acts, over and over they had to be taught to believe, repent, be baptized. Without being taught you can not accept Christ, without repentence you have no evidence of being born again. Your believe system is not complete from the Bible, only bits and pieces, such as not teach others about Christ cause it's already predetermined, many lost for ignorance.
@Iseeit4u You can't teach a man to believe something that his nature wont allow him to believe. The only ones who come to Christ are those who have received the Holy Spirit. Faith is a result of receiving the Holy Spirit, not the cause. Faith and repentance follow regeneration. None that are chosen are lost for lack of hearing the gospel. God finds a means for the elect to hear the gospel. It's part of his plan.
@Iseeit4u Here is a litany of things presented often by those who wish Primitive Baptists believed such ludicrousness and it is an ignorant representation of this preacher’s position. Certainly no one can believe without hearing, but no one can believe even if he hears without being born again; this is the preacher’s position. Neither did he state anything against spreading the gospel but in one statement endorsed evangelism.

@pitieddust Thank God that a person is brought to changed heart and mind by God and not this Elder's (not preacher) position, because that would mean that this Elder takes credit for something he didn't do. Do you know what a true old line (not necessarily Old School) primitive baptist is sir? I take it by reading your comments that you do not. Who is any person that preaches then takes credit for doing it think they are? Are they in a soul-saving business? News flash 4 ya, if God doesn't
Oh my goodness, is right! You have to remember, most Primitive Bapstists couldn't read or write, and put all their faith into some PB preacher who also could barely read or write. Yeah, they are old school allright, because they are very ignorant.
They had no study of original translations or the difference in meaning of words between Greek or Roman or Hebrew or Aramaic and when what should be used when, when interpreting the scriptures.
You are right. My in laws actually believe that all characters in the Bible had no choice to play out their role, God foreknew to them means he forced everything. they don't get the idea that if they were correct then why do they do anything? Why go to church.just to hang with others and eat on the ground as if that were more pure. I say live it up and do what you want if it does not matter at all, for get about being like Christ, salt and light, do the will of the flesh if it doesn't matter.
Predestination does not line up with 2 Peter 3:9- God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentence. All means all. God did not choose some to enter and some not to enter. Look up the world willing in the Greek (Boulema) and you will get an even stronger definition.
Predestination DOES line up with the bible completely. It DOES NOT line up with your interpretation of 2 Peter 3:9.
Please take into consider the CONTEXT of 2 Peter 3:9 and whom is being considered and you will see that the "all" of the text is not in reference every man or all men without exception.
@bucfan64 I've read the whole chapter beginning to end, (its not that long), and I am convinced, as are most biblical scholars, that this means all. God does not want anyone to die apart from him. We choose to separate ourselves from God. Period. You don't address the context you just say that I should. Please explain to me how all, in this context, doesn't mean all. You can make an argument, but you have to back it up.
Tim, You say "all" in this verse means all people who ever lived. We say "all" can means all of the elect, or people of all nations, not necessarily all people that ever lived.
@TimJaRoss Predestination means that God knew what was going to happen from the beginning to the end and He took care of all that needed to be took care of before He even said "Let there be light". Do you honestly believe that the Creator of all would just start creating and making a sloppy mess without having a plan to take care of His works? When God seen that not 1 man or woman thought of Him and lived as they wanted to and did as they pleased that He right then decided to send a Savior!
@TimJaRoss And you are right with one thing about God,,,, He didn't choose some to enter and some to not,,, they did. Freewill religionists want to believe that all you have to do is "accept" Jesus and you will be saved and that is absolutely what I would call vanity for sure because to me it's not whether you accept Jesus but rather if He accepts you!!!
@LombardLand I thought that was a bit strange as well, the Gospel is the POWER of GOD UNTO SALVATION to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

It could happen before hearing the gospel, and it most certainly happens before a person can believe the gospel.
