we usually take the engines out of the cars we flip for safety, even in strongman competitions, after a few flips, the motor mounts tend to break, then the fluid leaks start. the last thing you want to do is step on a patch of oil when you're driving forward to flip. A leg under a falling car is bad news. The engines are out & all the lines clamped off. The cars still weigh between 1400 & 2000 lbs depending on the car. The car I flipped in rehearsal was much heavier & lower.

He has a bar to hold on to and it's welded on the bottom of the car. You have full control of the car and it makes it weigh less than it is.

Try lifting your computer screen from the top and then tip it over a little from the bottom. You'll see what I'm talking about.
