For all of you guys talking about our offense we played 2 MAC teams and DSU. when you score 63 45 31 36 and 38 aganist teams with worst D then Michigan (yes it is possible) and who gives a shit if we score 30 if the opponents score 40?

Yes I am, for many many reasons. His offense is the highest scoring and best rushing offense in the Big Ten (stats from before Wisconsin). If he can turn the offense around from 9th in the Big Ten to 1st in the Big Ten in one year, imagine what will happen next year! The main reasons that we did so poorly in October was that Foricer had an injured shoulder and Molk was out. The offensive line fell apart without Molk leading the way, and Forcier's efficiency went down.
Notice that in the past 3 games, Foricer has had a pass efficiency of 150 or higher, and he completed a whopping 77% of his passes against Wisconsin. Offense, check.
Defense: We've had 3 DC in 3 years, so the juniors on the team have not had the same defensive coordinator in any of their years here. Greg Robinson has won Superbowls with his defense, and if he turns the defense around like Rich Rod turned the offense around, we're heading for a 10+ win next season.
So yes, I am all in for Rich Rod and Michigan. I am not the typical Michigan fan that will throw Rich Rod under a bus without realizing the magic that he's working. The offense works, it works very well, and when we get the personnel on the defensive side of the ball, Forcier continues to develop, we have a nice class coming in, etc. Things look very, very bright for Michigan. There's so much more beyond the 5-6 record.
And finally, our team is 75% underclassmen (freshman and sophomores) and it is characteristic of young teams to not finish in games (i.e. MSU, Purdue, Illinois) and also characteristic of them to drop games they should win (Illinois). Without the youth factor, we'd be 9-2 right now. Another characteristic of young teams: They beat teams they shouldn't, i.e. Notre Dame and perhaps OSU?

We should be fine this season maybe not a big ten title this year, but next year its BCS or clean house again.

Thats the thing, the players were so inexperienced he brought his offensive scheme and trivialized it, He made it as simple as possible. That is why we should be seeing so much improvement this year because everyone is experienced with it. He can open things up and trust his players to be able to get into the open field which is what this offense is all about, getting the ball to playmakers in space. We couldnt do that last year with such awful QB's.

I disagree, i think the problem wasn't the coaching, at least not all the time. It was the players, they didn't seem to respond to the coach, they were apathetic. This upcoming season we'll have a group of guys who will respond and play hard and win games.
believe it or not his play calling is better than tressels. thats why tressel gets smoked in big bowl games now cuz everyones figured him out and they know how predictable he is now. richrod just didnt have the proper personnel. this year though were more experienced the guys look to be in much better shape, and we have a legitimate threat at qb. and theres still more great players coming this summer. richrods bringing that sec speed to the north and tressel cant match that as weve seen before.
Michigan would the one of the best teams if they had a better defense. Their offense is really good though.

you have your opinion which is very true and i have mine. i didn't believe that rodriguez had the best of playing calling because he calls the same play very often. everytime he used feagen he just did a qb draw which only worked the first couple times he did it. so yes RR did infact have some to do with michigans failure but it was also alot of the players because they couldn't hold onto the ball to save thier life

Thats the thing, the players were so inexperienced he brought his offensive scheme and trivialized it, He made it as simple as possible. That is why we should be seeing so much improvement this year because everyone is experienced with it. He can open things up and trust his players to be able to get into the open field which is what this offense is all about, getting the ball to playmakers in space. We couldnt do that last year with such awful QB's.

Really HATE Rodriguez for the "shame" he brought on our Big Blue in 2008...and don't think I'll ever forgive him or be satisfied with him as our coach...but I am looking forward to putting that crap behind us & hoping 2009 is the beginning or a "Return to Glory" for U-M football!! GO, BLUE!!

I disagree, i think the problem wasn't the coaching, at least not all the time. It was the players, they didn't seem to respond to the coach, they were apathetic. This upcoming season we'll have a group of guys who will respond and play hard and win games.

believe it or not his play calling is better than tressels. thats why tressel gets smoked in big bowl games now cuz everyones figured him out and they know how predictable he is now. richrod just didnt have the proper personnel. this year though were more experienced the guys look to be in much better shape, and we have a legitimate threat at qb. and theres still more great players coming this summer. richrods bringing that sec speed to the north and tressel cant match that as weve seen before.
