Hot cross buns guy is definetly dead by now, The Aiken drum guy is probably a recovering alcoholic who is behind in his child support payments, simple simon is surely in jail for drug possession charges.....it sucks but thats life...lol
oh my god i ADORED this video when i was a kid,me and my brother watched them on a loop!!! oooooooooohh uve put the biggest smile on my face as i never thought id see them again!! xx
what i LOVE as an adult now and even more that I was born when i was - you can feel the imagination of this whole thing - even though its displayed, the memory of this reminds me of how much imagination i had growing up, which i suppose never really left me. I cant imagine future generations holding this up as much because of major technological advances - because the imagination element is kind of removed because of how good video and special effects are now - its kind of deteremtial to it
Im 21 now...and I make Hip Hop music. Im obsessed with rhyming, maybe watching these videos as a child resulted in my fascination with making plays on words, lol. If you grew up on these feel free to check my music out, and if you enjoy them, like this comment to get more people who watched these nursery rhymes to check me out so we can all connect around the world and share similar reminiscent values :)
Who was your favourite character that stared in this movie. This Movie can be also known as 70 Golden Nursery Rhymes. I think that the Oh Dear What Can The Matter Be song was sung In Nursery Rhymes 2 but I Don't know who was singing it.
I also liked Nursery Rhymes 2 with the little theatre and children actors. I think it's sad that no one remembers that one. But I'm so glad that there are many people who remembered this one. I prefer this one to NR2 to be honest even if the puppets used to scare me!
Aikendrum was one of my favourites but no one I ever mentioned it too knew what I was on about. My grandparents had a video of all the nursery rhymes I think my nan still has it. Xx
OMG!! I used to watch this as a child all the time. I have it on video somewhere!! Me and my daughter watch it on here now as we no longer have a video player! Aiken Drum was by far the best song!!
Thanks so much I and my grown up daughters had the most lovely and nostalgic time watching this :) These are certainly the best; the illustrations costumes, backgrounds, make up, music, acting, singing, all are in a class of their own. surpass anything since. Its nice to read all the comments of those who grew up with this video.

hahahahha i have this on video somewhere! i used to watch it all the time, its brilliant :) shame kids these days don't get taught all this junk, especially with the sheep. "Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep". really?!
dear janeaustenchamp, thank u so much for posting this ! can u pls tell me where i can get the complete cd of all the rhymes. we used to have the vhs at home as kids but fungus got to it. :(
When I was little...oh man, I really got a tickle out of all that spaghetti hair lol...even today it is STILL my favorite folk song of all :) I do wonder how they got all that spaghetti hair on him lol I don't think his mustache was made of anything; I'm guessing it was real since they didn't sing about it.
BTW...the singer sounds so much like Ringo Starr IMO lol
what memories these bring back my two children loved this video we lost it when we moved away and have searched for it ever since thank you for sharing this you have made a mother very happy

I remember I used to watch that tape all the time when I was little. The Grand Duke of York used to be my favorite part of that tape because it used to make me laugh when those soldiers kept trying to go up or down. LOL 5:27

Sadly I got rid of my VHS a few years ago but I do still have a DVD recording of it somewhere.
I actually think that either this or Volume 2 was actually released on DVD.
