  • legit!!

  • Big ups to Today, The Whitehead Brothers, Soul 4 Real, and Subway!!!! Good stuff!

  • nice mixes

  • wow and tony toni tone is in the last section gtfoh

  • Where is K-Ci and Jo Jo, Guy, Jodeci, New Edition, Boyz 2 men?

  • @msapkeepit100

    in the part 1 video

  • UH.... WHERE IS JODECI?????

  • @afvmedia on that crack lol nah jk I actually love jodeci, but they really cant sing that good anymore.

  • Alot of these groups are 80's - Surface, Ready For The World, The Time. Still good though.

  • I find somewhat odd to see a response however I'm impressed that A: you're totally right, and B: you have knowledge enough to pose argumentative retort. touché RnBhaven touché

  • @macmaynne Wow. I just started reading your posts. Your argument that these songs aren't good is the fact that they aren't still getting airplay? REALLY? Your evidence is that these songs aren't being played 15-20 years after they topped the charts? I listen to urban radio and guess what? I rarely even hear songs that came out more than 6 months ago. Guess everything sucks.

  • @macmaynne The Time featured Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis two legends in the industry... Surface had a #1 hit, R Kelly was a member of Public Announcement, Tony Toni Tone was a double platinum R&B band. Are you sure they're garbage or just that you don't know them?

  • LOVE THIS VID BUT DIDNT THE BOYS AND SURFACE BEGIN IN THE 80'S AND DIE OUT IN THE 90'S AS WELL AS THE THE TIME

  • @Rob25AZ Yea, they did. However, Surface's biggest hit "The First Time" came out in 1990. The video is sort of hte extras beyond many of the big name groups so I felt both artists were worth including.

  • @macmaynne thought u were kinda cool at 1st, just a little off but cool... but u keep the toilet paper, u'll need it after all of this brown nosing... homage and brown nosing are two different things. liking someone because they're platinum is what selling out is made off. Real artist & Fans like what they like.Don't be a follower lil man. Oh, See who Jessie J Cornish shouted out as a big influence on The Today Show. Someone you said sucked, but I guess she doesn't know ish either.

  • @macmaynne oh yeah Rumpelstiltskin, 50 cent's In Da Club was an Urban hit, check your billboard charts. No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. lol think you better get on your mac or pc and do more research.

  • @macmaynne I should spam you for disrespecting some of those groups...

  • Comment removed

  • Well done. Brings back memories.

  • I dont know if you had them, but Barrio Boyzz was a small crossover spanish boy band. In fact I think one of their ex-members was part of Voices of Theory. For any who dont know Barrio Boyzz, their version of Gloria Estefan"s COONGA was on TMNT 3 lol

  • Morris Day and The Time :)

  • Love the video!! I had forgotten about alot of these groups...

  • @macmaynne Just because they weren't hits doesn't mean they weren't good songs......... Thanks for bringing back the memories rnbhaven

  • @macmaynne i strongly agree

  • @macmaynne Apparently during your work in urban radio you forgot how to read and make logical conclusions. You're looking at a video that ends with "The Rest Part 2"... Hrmmm so it's looking at R&B groups that weren't in the original best of 90s R&B guy groups... which means hrmmm let's see.... it's groups that aren't as well known as the big ones? Which means, many of their best songs wouldn't be hits?

Nawww couldn't be. That'd make too much sense. Thanks for playing!

  • you forgot the best Boyz II Men also All 4 one, After 7, immature

  • @corantmil Note the video is called "the rest" and Part 2. All the groups you mentioned are in the original

  • Jerk Out!!! I just put that on a CD two days ago!!!

  • tony toni tone!

  • Love the groups selected but where n da hell is Jodeci???

  • @otleaf Check the regular Best of 90s R&B Guy Groups video, they're too big to be in "The Rest"

  • Tony Toni Tone' was the greatest MALE TRIO R&B GROUP OF THE 1990S!!!!!!

  • candy rain is my favorite of them all

AALIYAH,2PAC,LEFT EYE, TLC,MJ,BERNIE MAC, ALOT OF GGREAT PPL R.I.P "nd my bestfriend"

  • 's ave a question how do you have these groups that some of use have never heard but not the one group that these other groups looked up to at the time and I am not talking about the Jackson I mean the Jackson of the 90's NEW EDITION!! All these groups will tell you that they were inspired by them to do what they are doing. So how dare you have Bell, Biv Devoe and Boys to Men and not them hell those 2 groups stem from them. You might want to do another one.

  • @Staceyrscruggs Haha we don't need to do another one as they're in the originals! IF you notice, this video is from P-Z for smaller name groups. Check the other videos on my channel to see the ones you're talking about!

  • @Staceyrscruggs new edition started in the 80s thats why ita 90s tribute

  • Im tryna form an RNB Group what do yall think my first steps should be as to making good music such as this and still get ppl to listing if u have any ideas let me know

  • idk dude its going to be really hard trying to make music like this. they through away all the old technology used for this stuff and added the auto tune and stuff like dat

  • people don't try anymore im in a rnb group we did remake of Blackstreet - Wanna Make Love

  • Comment removed

  • Shaggy in an interview said he found inspiration not just from listening to a variety of artists but from things in every day live such as scene in a film, someone sneezing, the sound of a woman spraying on her perfume, news, and other recent and past experiences. Everytime he got an idea for a theme for a song or a line in a verse he wrote it down a.s.a.p on a note pad and didn't try to rely on memory. So try keeping a small note pad close by at all times. Inspiration can be found anywhere.

  • As far as R&B goes most people enjoy songs they can relate to in some way but they are also songs the singing artists can relate to themselves. There are or were some R&B artists that also feel this type of music should come back. (I think Blackstreet was one of them but it was a while back since I heard that from them) Find out who they are, try to get in touch if possible and see what advise they can give. Try contacting appropriate radio stations, record firms and studios for advise too.

  • I apologise for giving any advice that you already know or does not apply and hope none of it was bad. Good luck with your group as I miss this type music.

  • The Time and Surface schould not b included n this cause they came out n the 80s NOT the 90s

  • While you're right about the Time, Surface's biggest hit was during the 90s. And I love their stuff, so haha sorry :)

  • Surface's biggest was Shower Me With Your Love which came out in 1989.

  • Not to be a stickler about it but the group's biggest hit on the charts as a whole was "The First Time" which reached #1 on the Hot 100 and the R&B charts and was off of their third album 3 Deep which came out in 1999.

Honestly, they're success was so strongly concentrated in 1989/90 with Closer Than Friends/Shower Me With Your Love/You Are My Everything wrapping up the 80s at #1 on the R&B charts and "The First Time" taking all charts in 1990, we might as well just call them a transition group

  • @badnewzleo so what!

  • @rnbhaven plus jerk out came out in the 90s

  • i so agree with ya on that!

  • Do u really have pulic announcement? Wow u hit the spot right there.

  • those guys are great, with or without the R

  • i wish there wasnt a "Best artist of the 90s'" i would like to know all of the R&B artist that ever got airtime on the radio...even one hit wonders. i have some of the songs in my head and dont remember the artist or groups name...not even the song name...this way i can go to amazon or fye and purchase stuff, lol!

  • hey same hea. I remeba a lot of rnb from the 90s when i was little. but didnt have a clue who sang it or the artist name.

  • @legmodelz1 go to 'R&B haven'

  • @legmodelz1 I hear you on that and we tried to incorporate that into these "the rest" videos. Hopefully between all of them, you'll recognize the voices of the artists you liked.

  • Oooh does *Love me Down* take me back... dang, I might be old school, but I still got it like that! LoL

  • Ive been viewing all these slow jam videos. and nobody has put that "for ever and a day" song.

  • The song at the begining is called "Love You Down" by Ready For The World

  • Mint Condition, LSG, Sons Of Funk, PM Dawn

  • I think that these videos are great. They took me back a little bit. I think that there are a few groups that are missing. Here they are....Intro, Next, New Edition, and II D Extreme. Kenny Greene of Intro was probably one of the best songwriters in the early to mid 90s. He wrote many hits for Mary J. Blige. I saw BBD but New Edition was still around in the 90s. Next had the song of the year in 1997 with "Too Close." II D Extreme was also a pretty good group. Let me know what you think.

  • Troop???

  • Look at the video this is in response to for the "main list" lol Troop is covered don't worry.

    These are the others.

  • ha u still missed mint condition.

  • Haha no I didn't. I made two parts for the rest (Part 1 and Part 2) and alphabetized them. Unfortunately, YouTube deemed A-P to be copyright infringement... so they're not here :(

  • three piece ooh ahh yall old heads sleepin on that

  • Wasn't the guys in the group Riff played in the movie (Lean on Me). The part when they had to sing the school song.

  • yes they where

  • (Ready For The World - Love You Down) Best sexing song ever!

  • @DonCurtis88,

If you think that was the best song to sex to, then you have a lot to learn about music. Real talk.

  • No I dont to each his own.........

  • R I F F 4 L I F E B A B Y !!!!

  • its written allll ova ya faaaaceee.

  • Jodeci????????

  • where is mint condition??

  • Right! They are not to be ruled out under any circumstance. They should be at the top of the list. For real.

  • Omg what's the name of the song by Portrait????

  • I believe it's "Here we go".

  • If I ever fall in love

  • that was shai

  • I havent heard some of these songs or groups but they all sound the same!

  • omg!!! voices of theory! i used to love that song =)

  • i think you did a great job-because damn if i can remember all these groups especially the one hit wonders.

  • AND HOW ABOUT STRONG.

  • its a tough job trying to remember all these groups especially the one hit wonders.

  • WHERE'S COMING OF AGE?

  • EVER HEARD OF DAMAGE?!!!!

  • I'm glad somebody else has! No one I know seems to even know who I'm talking about when I refer to them. Unfortunately, they almost had no impact on the US and so, people stare at me quizzically when I refer to them.

  • TELL'EM LISTEN TO FOREVER IN B.A.P.S.

  • didnt Houston sing Love You Down?

  • ready for the world

  • Thnk you so much 4 da "say it" by voices of theory....My stupid gf keep telling me that it was sung by some gay band called Innerlude but now that i found out who its by im guna do a chris brown and beat that bitches ass.....Thnkz man

  • lmfao!

  • ur rite, coz DAMAGE are British also rthe group MN8 btw were a British R&B group.

  • You sure that Ready for the World song came out in the 1990s? Besides, Ready for the World is more 80s in my opinion.

  • dude wer r the bone thugs they had SOME mellow songs back then not any but some... haha

  • Hah, I love Bone Thugs but they weren't R&B. Still, if you check out my remembering legends video, i refer to them in it!

  • nice yeah dude btnh r legandary

  • very good vids...i know you said you missed some but MINT KONDITION?? oh lawd lol...that was a good group

  • Haha I know, I've made many an apologies for that one. It's been corrected though :)

  • its all good...ill give you a pass-but dont let it happen again LOL

  • Good Job!

  • I wish I could find an actual DVD of 90's rb to educate my daughters on what good music is. Does anyone know if anybody made any? I love this thanks for putting it on.

  • It would be a great idea but I've never seen one. I wish there was a nice compilation of music videos!

  • do you kno a group that sung "Let Me Do Things To You" real freaky song, old skool. you kno what im talkin about. plzzz tell who sung it!

  • do you know any video wher agirl wa shakinng her bare ass from a 90r7b group

  • This is guuuud!

  • Hah, Thanks! Be sure to check out the other videos as well!

  • Fo sho!!

  • now that I think about it....I have have to wonder how you could possibly miss some of these guys.

  • A lot of these weren't really MISS per se. The first one started out more as just MY favorite R&B Guy Groups but since it did well enough, I expanded it to be an "all-encompassing" collection.

Yea, a lot of these groups are big and so it provides a nice mix of big names and smaller groups.

  • OMG! whitehead bros! they sang that song Sex On The Beach too right? hahah!

  • Yep! That was them! It's hard to find much of their stuff but they had some nice jams. I remember I used to think "Your Love is a 187" was just a random number and had no idea there was actually meaning behind it lol.

  • i used to be soooo in love with the boys. a lil girl crush. you'd better not mess with my posters either lol

  • Haha that's awesome! While I was making hte video, I got Dial My Heart stuck in my head for hourssss.

  • good job once again
