No, no, I wasn't taking it as a criticism, I just felt that you were under-selling the car and the roads of America. Sure, the Viper doesn't have the sophistication of a Gallardo, and the roads aren't alpine, but there is more to be had beyond the Interstate. Living in Oregon as I do, it's easy to recognize when people are trying to be funny by saying America only has straight roads. The thing is, I'm starting to get the feeling that more and more people actually believe it.
Actually I wasn't trying to be funny - I was making the point that American muscle cars were never designed to drive on small winding roads, like the roads in Europe, because American roads are much bigger & that muscle cars evolved out of drag racing, where the general idea is how fast you can drive in a straight line, so nobody really cares if they handle great in a corner - I'm not saying they don't - just that it's not important, because that's not what they're about.
Well, I prefer smaller Euro engines with Turbo technology. American muscle cars are comparitively primitive in comparison to what comes out of the best from Audi (R8), BMW (M5) and even VW (R32). Just my opinion.

There is a "SPORTS" too much in "American sports cars" as the only thing being sporty on an American car is the cup holder that can take a sporty size of cup.
It can combine al those things. And also look at the interior its pure luxury! Its not some stripped out rattly noisy race car. Its a useable, comfortable supercar, that offers unreal performance, Sure there are faster things in termas of acceleration, and faster cars around tracks. But the idea of the veyron its all those combined. And it was the fastest car for a bit.
Actually, its not usable at all. The ride height is so low, it can't go over speedbumps or lipped driveways. The bottom of the car is covered with something like 9 carbon fiber panels that must be replaced if scratched, each costing tens of thousands of dollars. The tires wear out in 5000 miles and cost $30,000. its a stupid, stupid car.
Not like im goin to buy one. Get over it, veyron is what it is, it is a marvellous engineering achievment in my opinon. Im currently studing to become a mechanical engineer and certainly would be chuffed if i ever worked on any sports car.
Well yeah I agree, the Veyron is an amazing piece of engineering, don't get me wrong. But ALL exotic's are. You give me the impression that every other car is garbage compared to the Veyron. That's not true, the veyron is a great car but so is the viper, S7, ford GT, corvette, Lambo's, honda NSX, those are some of the best cars these automakers have to offer, so don't go spreading that garbage it's ridiculous. Note the veyron costs a shit ton more to make and it shows.
The Veyron is just well known. Like when you see on TV or what have you "if you laid all the wire in a 747 end to end.... blah, blah, blah, it could stretch from earth to the moon" I think the Veyron has become the same sort of yardstick.

Well, I prefer smaller Euro engines with Turbo technology. American muscle cars are comparitively primitive in comparison to what comes out of the best from Audi (R8), BMW (M5) and even VW (R32). Just my opinion.

Very impressive indeed but the entire time I watched the video I was just waiting for it to fall apart. Those things aren't known for reliability , I'll take the Veyron .

Why do people compare things to the veyron anyway?
There is literally nothing the veyron does best.
Its not the fastest production car in the world (Aero TT is)
Its not the best track car
Its not the largest/smallest.
So what is it about it?

It can combine al those things. And also look at the interior its pure luxury! Its not some stripped out rattly noisy race car. Its a useable, comfortable supercar, that offers unreal performance, Sure there are faster things in termas of acceleration, and faster cars around tracks. But the idea of the veyron its all those combined. And it was the fastest car for a bit.

Actually, its not usable at all. The ride height is so low, it can't go over speedbumps or lipped driveways. The bottom of the car is covered with something like 9 carbon fiber panels that must be replaced if scratched, each costing tens of thousands of dollars. The tires wear out in 5000 miles and cost $30,000. its a stupid, stupid car.

Not like im goin to buy one. Get over it, veyron is what it is, it is a marvellous engineering achievment in my opinon. Im currently studing to become a mechanical engineer and certainly would be chuffed if i ever worked on any sports car.

Well yeah I agree, the Veyron is an amazing piece of engineering, don't get me wrong. But ALL exotic's are. You give me the impression that every other car is garbage compared to the Veyron. That's not true, the veyron is a great car but so is the viper, S7, ford GT, corvette, Lambo's, honda NSX, those are some of the best cars these automakers have to offer, so don't go spreading that garbage it's ridiculous. Note the veyron costs a shit ton more to make and it shows.
