  • Whats the name of the song?

  • im 13 years old...and i am finishing the first book now...its is very complicated and deep...some of the guys out there might understand sthing completely different...but the japanese people is very very deep and hard to understand

  • Mariko is so hot!

  • Great memories much thanks for uploading

  • This is one of my all time best ever films, and I would never miss an episode on the tv.

Now I have my own Madame Butterfly.

Thanks for the great video and music.

  • awesome

  • a gay white wannabe samurai

  • Great story, music is perfect thank you , greetings from Brasil

  • wtf are you talking about dude

  • @towelie86 watch it first before saying stupid things, it's not jackass Last Samurai, this is classic!

  • @towelie86 He wasn't a wannabe. He was a real samurai.

  • @towelie86 A white WANNABE samurai? The man was a REAL Samurai, the worlds first white samurai. The story is based on William Adams. With very little changed in the telling. His family is still hereditary owners of the land and titles granted him by Tokugawa Ieyasu (Toranaga)

  • @towelie86 Blackthorn (the main protagonist of the novel Shogun by James Clavell) is a British sailor who is shipwrecked on Japan. He is given clothes by a Japanese lord, he's not a "samurai wannabe" in fact, he spends the majority of the novel trying to get away from Japan.

  • @towelie86 dude read the book, you fucking idiot. it's an english pirate that is taking as prisoner in feudal japan. they make him into a samurai, which is favorable for him in a strict caste system.

  • @towelie86 *taken

  • @lordinfamous15234 ahahah, U r the idiot.

John Blackthorne is a trader who wants to make money in asia... not a pirate ROFL

This story is ficitve, so its just a WANNABE SAMURAI LOLOLO

    omg idiots.....

  • @towelie86 uh he didn't intentionally land in Japan. and it's "fiction" not "fictive." you moron.

  • @lordinfamous15234 its a fictive story u moron

  • @towelie86 Dude, this is from the miniseries Shogun, which is about an english pilot stuck in Japane in the 1600's... geeze

  • @towelie86 <<<<This, kids, is one of those douchebags that thing they know everything...

  • @towelie86 And did you even read the book? Damn...if you did, you probably misunderstood the whole thing.

  • @simoneog2009 wtf are u talkin about

  • @towelie86

Look up William Adams, the sailor and first white samurai.

  • @KataclysmKat wow, cool

  • @KataclysmKat

do you really think he is that good at reading?

  • wa curry mas...i am not worthy grasshopper, Hai ! arhh chop chop.

  • Mariko was lovely, and in a way was a role model to all of us females out there. She was beautiful, graceful, well educated and so beautifully spoken.

  • I am so in love with this story...can not escape...

  • Wonderful!!! Beautiful video, and a great story!!!

  • beautiful video... *tears* <3

their love story is so touching... you chose a perfect song, it just suits them and their story so amazingly! again, nice vid, thank you very much! :)

  • This is the japanese equivalent to romeo and juliet in lots of ways, it is the greatest mini-series of all time and to cap it all off the soundtrack from the late great Maurice Jarre sends shivers down my spine everytime i hear it. A timeless classic

  • wtf?

  • WTFFFFF 0_0

  • Wrong music......

  • OMG are you fuckin kidding?? The lyrics are just perfect for the love story of Mariko San and Anjin San, it explains exactly what they lived together! And the music fit so well with everything, the melody was written for Anna and the king so it sounds very asian and so its perfect for the series!

I always appreciate negative comments cause its construcitve but this time it just has no sens lol I'm like VERY PROUD of the music I chose, it feels like it was actualy made for the series.

  • Sounds Asian? Not to me..

Last poster seems to agree also, not the best choice.. Not that any of this matters..

  • Obviously you never made a video, did you. Of course it matters, for me it does. When you make a video you spend hard time chosing the song cause it has to fit with everything. Melody, lyrics, feelings, etc. So when someone gives me some shit for no good reason, well I reply, indeed.

And yes of course it sounds asian dude you cant just deny it, its a CHINESE song. Thats why that other guy wrote that comment, he doesnt like the fact that I DARED to set a chinese song to a japanese story.

  • @megabulle Your choice of music is perfect. As a reader of the book and fan of the movie, it fits. There are those that feel the need to tear others work down. You are going to make films? Expect criticism from those less talented, and sometimes for no reason whatsoever. Thick skin. Though it will be hard.

  • I love this motion picture - Shogun - but I think that mixing this song with this scene is rather bold. I think it would be better to mix it with an extract from Mme Butterfly -Puccini

  • I'm reading the book, for the 150th time or so, and i never fail to be amazed by the sheer complexity of the story, and how much it makes you look into yourself and think.. i love this book, although the Anjin-Sama in the book was blue eyed with blonde hair as far as i can remember, and was well shaven, "these steel razors must be the best in the world" as he writes to Felicity, his wife in london... :-P Great upload btw, really made my day!

  • @SuperIby

I believe they had him keep his full beard to show the contrast between himself and the Japanese.

If you remember in the book, he also had his hair done in a Japanese fashion too, I believe they kept it the way it was for the same reason.

Good video by the way. After reading the book I bought this mini-series. James Clavell is very good at creating a great love story.

  • I was about 7 or 8 when I first saw this on TV and I fell in love with Mariko, so much so that after graduating College I moved to Japan and Found a Mariko of my own. Japanese women are a gift from the Gods

  • humm fuck off.

  • no way asian kids are much cuter than white kids

  • especially for a weeaboo

  • @Jackthemeat

I have never read anything so beautiful in my life. A long time happiness!

  • i read this book a long time ago. is the series as good as the book?? is it much fighting in the series??

  • James Clavell directed the seires so yes its good, I mean no one couldmake a better job than the author himself hehe :D

  • Actually Jerry London did, but he was a close adviser.

  • @megabulle Actually series was directed by Jerry London. With Clavell helping on the screen play with Eric Bercovici. But yes the series was as good in its' own right as the book.

  • @dwade1962eagle Totally agree with you! The book was freaking awesome, and the series was about as good as it could have possibly been. Not sure why they changed the scene where Yabu climbs down the cliff to save ... uh... the other Pilot into Yabu diving into the ocean, but most of the scenes were exactly as I pictured them in the book. Very pleased that Clavell had executive producer authority.

  • I just got done reading the book, I must say it was very good...kinda sucks what happened to mariko, but that is karma neh? But at least it got Kikku-San HUZZAH!!!!!

  • haha i like your use of the books language, it adds to their characters well, neh?

  • por que morias mariko buaaaaaaaaaa

  • I was eight years old when the mini-series first aired and was still in the girl s are gross phaze. Holy cow, Yoko Shimada WOKE ME UP! The most beautiful woman I have ever seen and still is. Her performance was astonishing and it is a sin she did not win the Emmy. By the way, the book is probably my all time favorite. I read it every three years.

  • @msp1518 It's my favorite as well. The best author who ever lived!

  • @msp1518

I love this story. It makes for a great movie and an excellent adventure.

  • one of the best books that i've ever read

  • I love them together... what happened to Mariko was so sad... :'(

  • And almost a cop out on Clavell's part, as Toranaga was going to let Blackthorne marry her.

  • Very nice, the story is very interesting... i read the book, and i must say i was completely surprised... A very romantic story, read the book and then watch the movie...
