  • LoL... Reading the comments, have this many ppl really fallen to the diesel propaganda? Maybe I need to sell my F-250 before I contract whatever disease that black smoke seems to transmit. This monster truck is a novelty item... an advertisement at best. Diesels are for pulling and hauling, they will not outperform spark ignition in high performance applications. That mud they call fuel is the weak link... ya, it has more BTU but it burns too slow.

  • @Onco400 Oh really? Its not propaganda. You just need to sell your ford for a truck with a real diesel. And you got your comment backward. Spark ignition will not outperform compression ignition EVER. Its not just black smoke that makes diesel engines desirable. Economy, torque, horsepower, durability and longevity are all really powerful enticements for buying a diesel over a gas engine. Do some research.

  • @DirtyRam50 Spark ignition will not outperform compression ignition?? Does it every day chief... And black smoke "makes diesel engines desirable"?? WTF

  • @Onco400 Oh really? Prove it! Prove to me that diesel is not better than gas. And try not to make it up. I'm not an idiot. I do know what I'm talking about. Did you actually read my ENTIRE comment? The ONLY reason gas is more popular than diesel in America right now is because of GM's 5.7 L diesel in the 70's. It left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths for a long time. And FYI numb nuts, There is more than one diesel monster truck out there now.

  • @DirtyRam50 Have you ever watched a monster truck other than this one? They're doing 200ft wheelies... this one can barely run over a car. Diesel performance is coming along nicely, you're just 20 years late.

  • @Onco400 I have. But diesel is breaking into a sport primarily dominated by gas engines. There is obviously going be resentment. But let me ask you, if diesel is strong enough to haul a monster truck and it's trailer and all of the equipment needed to maintain the truck, then why is diesel not good enough to be put in the monster trucks themselves? There are 1900 Horsepower 5.9 liter cummins engines out there. Is that not enough power for a monster truck?

  • @DirtyRam50 The diesel engine's powerband is incompatible with most forms of racing. The Banks dragster is the only diesel i've seen that doesn't act sluggish. Dyno numbers mean nothing if it takes 14 seconds to spool your turbo and then you have to run it wide open or risk falling back off the boost.

  • @Onco400 Have you seen a diesel drag race? There are 9 second pickups smoking mustangs, camaros and vipers. And those are the street legal trucks. And most diesel dragracers use turbos. I think that you are thinking of massive turbos, which do take a long time to spool up. However, almost all competitive diesel dragracers use compound turbos, where a small turbo spools up the big turbo. Thus lag is significantly reduced. Throw in a supercharger and you have a diesel with instant response.

  • @DirtyRam50 There are 9 second diesel trucks smoking SLOW mustangs etc. They're also smoking everybody sitting in the stands lolol. But a real built mustang is going to kill a diesel.... sorry.

  • @Onco400 Well considering diesels are up to 6 seconds on the strip and the diesel performance market has only been a decent size for about 10 years. Gas engines have had since the early 50's to improve.

  • @Onco400 I'd rather my fuel ignite from all over the cylinder (compression ignition) rather than one point (spark ignition). I don't know what you have agenst diesel but you should give it a chance. Considering 70% of the vehicles on earth are diesel.

  • @brolyavocados439 If you were paying attention... I have a diesel truck. It's sitting at home right now because diesel fuel is 40 cents a gallon more than gas. Your fuel is injected into your cylinder from one point so that arguement doesn't make much sense. Diesel performance had 30 years to improve in the sport of tractor pulling. They are switching to spark plugs and methanol because it makes more power.

  • dave u rock

  • diesels have come a long ways i admit that, their not just old work rigs anymore. the fact is diesels will never be in the ame class as hot-rods, and muscle cars.

a turbo diesel is no match for a supercharged bigblock in a 1/4 drag race. too much lag in diesels waiting for the turbo to spool up while you crack the throttle on a supercharged bigblock and your doin wheel stands instantly.

  • diesel aint on top yet tho i do admit diesel has come along ways. corvette, mustang, chargers all run gas engines. are there any diesel sport cars yet in the top names? all the big name races run on gas or race fuel- nascar, dragracing, monster jam is mostly race gas V8's.

until diesel dominates all that diesel guys need ta chill. also V8's keep gettin bigger and bigger. just ask yourself what a ford diesel motor gunna do against a 700 inch super charged chevy V8 in a race

  • the audi R8 TDI will rape all v8 muscle cars....

  • not in a straight line. you cant match the sheer power

  • @youngron707 ... dude, watch lemans. The Audi R10 is raping the gassers. and i assure you, you can pull twice the HP and 4x the torque from any diesel than you can a comparable gas engine. for less money might i add.

  • A diesel won the lamans last year, its a start, plus, you know something is going for diesels when I can take my stock 05 dodge cummins and roast a fucking gt mustang at a red light. Diesels last longer, make wayyy more torque and typically more hp per cid, are better for the enviroment, easier to work on and get more girls than gassers

  • @youngron707 Win.

  • Petrol or Gasoline as you americans call it has all the flexibility of tuning you like, One drawback to that... Gas/Petrol engines can't run through deep Fords, floods, rivers etc like a Diesel can. Water kills the spark plugs & if that happens then you might aswell swim cos it ain't gonna re-start. Run through water in a diesel & as long as the exhaust is out of the water or the revs are kept up its fine. I can tell you some British flood stories of Petrol cars getting caught following Diesels

  • diesel shall be the revolition in this country so help me god all u gasohilics need to pull ur heads out of ur asses and take a breath ur comparin a prodution engine with modifications to a completely aftermarket gas engine that just cant compete with a diesel i mean come on the avid readers of diesel power cant count on their fingers and toes the amount of 1000hp common rail cummins engines they have seen over the past year

  • FYI ladies there was a diesel monster truck in the eighties so the idea is not a new one. plus, a supercharged diesel will own a nitro monster truck any day.

  • diesel will never catch on in monster trucks, horsepower wise they dont have the acceleration a high horsepower nitro truck has. Plus diesel sucks.

  • ya but once the turbo spools nothing holds it back

  • More powerful? Yes. More effecient? yes. Better for the environment? yes. But the they do stink! And in no way do they even come close to that sweet sound only a gasoline engine can produce.

  • My bad i just now saw this one after i saw the other one

  • monster truck is missing something .... a nitro burning hemi engine ....diesel sucks

  • Gasser trash, who wants it? NOBODY.

  • someone needs a hug ...let it out big guy ...its allright

  • nitro huh? is that what your gas engines need to burn to get over 1000 horsepower? costs you $50 a gallon? with little modification a diesel can push well over 1000hp and still run on diesel bought at the gas station on the corner. you will be seeing more diesel monster trucks in the future as gasoline finds itself pushed out in the cold. plus diesels put out incredible amounts of black smoke! always a crowd pleaser.

  • and so is a super loud flame throwing v8 thats autually make a big truck go not like this shit

  • im guessing that you dont really know how an engine works. because if you did then you would know that a diesel engine is not only more powerful but far louder than a gas engine. this clip was very short so you didnt get to see what else the truck could do. to top it all off, this diesel is 360 cubic inches whereas the most common displacement for gas trucks is 509. and the diesel puts out more power to boot.

  • diesel is better than gas and to prove it, the diesel in this truck puts out way more power than most gas trucks. its a smaller engine that has only six cylinders, and i'll take clouds of black smoke over some small flames.

  • "you will be seeing more diesel monster trucks in the future"

And that's about the time i stop watching monster trucks.

  • incidently, that is also the time that your testicle removal operation is scheduled.

  • Why? Because i like noise, and don't like being choked by clouds of black soot. By the way, I see you've already had your operation!

  • @DirtyRam50 Actually It's alcohol the trucks are running on. Alcohol is much cheaper than Nitro methane of course. And besides, diesel is boring...the only exciting part is when the beast rolls coal. Hearing an american V8 is a site to behold, and hear. I've seen Hushpower perform, and I admit it's pretty neat, but all hushpower did what get some air and roll over some cars. Where the insane donuts? the insame air? Besides, gas motors are easier to work on. I'm not trying to start a fight.

  • @DirtyRam50 Just one more thing. The're turbo system for muscle cars that you can install on a 454 that'll produce 1200 to 1400 hp on pump gas.

  • @jdog942 I would LOVE to see that. Maybe you are talking about a built lower end as well as a stroker kit and new cam as well as a supercharger or a twin turbo setup. BUT, when you go that far you cannot use 87 octane gasoline anymore. If you do you risk damage from detonation.

  • @DirtyRam50 Detroit 12v71TT... 2000hp+ easily and can run it for years without a rebuild at that level ;)

  • nice truck shitty driver

  • yeah like you know a thing about monster trucks yourself... go ahead talk shit about him but i bet if u were put in there you wouldnt last 5 minutes without shitting your self

  • Little Queefer, go build your own and see how you do!

  • yeah thats good 4 the enviorment!!!!!

  • good for county fairs like this, probably cannot compete with bigger name trucks, sounds like it rips pretty good for a diesel tho.

  • sweet ass truck its even in diesel power

  • nice. needs waaaaay more power, to compete with the gas monsters currently running.. but she is definetely defenitly a step in the right direction. nice rig

  • although a big rig motor would never make 5k rpm. shes in diesel power. that thing is nice. good show lads

  • Its not that it needs more power it just cant power up quickly like gas or alcohol. It needs to spool up first witch is bad for powering out of bad situations.

  • we need more diesel tube framed monster trucks!
