  • An incredible actor as well...very talented, clever and versatile performer.

    Sadly missed.

  • One of my favourites...makes me feel better about my own stuttering career as a children's and YA writer.

  • this is gold

  • There was a bench in Hyde park in London where there was a bench that had headphones fitted to it. if you put the headphones on you could listen to Ian Dury songs. As per usual the fuckin' vandals kept trashing the thing. Don't know if it is still there. Listen to Razzle in my pocket and You'll see glimpses

  • Brilliant lyricist RIP Ian gone but not forgotten

  • love ian

  • grandissimo Ian!!!!

  • havin this played at my funeral listen to the lyrics if you dont understand why, then just to liven things up a bit I thought I would have plaistow patricia played just after, my only regret would be not being able too see the look on the vicars face

  • The Blockheads, most underrated band ever!

  • @GarrettKeetley Indeed! I guess we must be true fans, eh?

  • Great song.

  • totally loved the guy with a passion till i read his biography.

    what a waste / ,what a waster

  • @drewheather1 "totally loved the guy with a passion till i read his biography."

    What did he do?

  • @drewheather1 interesting post-who wrote the biography? The way I look at it-he had a pretty shit hand dealt to him with the polio, and despite it all he turned his life into a great sucess-his songs will live forever.I think every genius is flawed,Ian was no exception-he was a real human being-warts 'n 'all.

  • The one and only.......... with the tightest backing band around. Makes me proud to be a Londoner

  • God bless you, Ian.Wherever you are,X.

  • Where was Chaz Jankel in this video? Charley Charles on drums, Norman Watt-Roy on bass, Davey Payne on sax, John Turnbull on guitar, Mickey Gallagher on keyboards And Ian on vocals. But no Chaz Jankel, wonder why.

  • @andytinch Chaz left the band at this point to start a solo career. he went back very soon after though and then left again!

  • @lucwarm many thanks for taking the time to reply. I didn't realise that Chaz had left the band twice. The Blockheads wern't the same without him.

  • what a waste, if he'd stuck to the nuclear physic s we wouldna hadta blow up no Pashtan, innit...?
