what's so different about this movie than say Natural Born Killers which was more consistently graphically and reaslistically violent that this one? Wow 761,254 views and 147 comments? Doesn't make sense. This is a classic movie though, for me this and Rosetta are the best French films ever made. Long curly hair is second only to a muscular physique in the masculinisation of the female. Forget about Gaspar Noe rubbish, his films are abysmal - vaudeville embarrassments. i think it is depressing that we are not shocked by rape scenes. i saw irreversible in the theater and had to leave during the rape scene. it is not a porno, it is two actors simulating a very real and very violent occurrence that happens all the time. a horrible crime with a victim, not stuff to get off to. I don't think movies like this should be banned but i do wish people were still shcokable, not so desensitized by what porn is doing to our society.

Well,to me,that is simply not the case. Sure there are some American movies today that suck but that is true of some movies from all countries. I still come across many American made movies that I think are good so I guess we just have to agree to disagree.
