Nice video, I got the same bass in olympic white. Check my bass videos. Actually I wanna get a sunburst like your too. Best Fender Precision ever in my opinion.(Ok only the real vintage ones own this :)
@CircusEnvy23 go to google, and look up the leo quan website. You can't get em from guitar center anymore unfortunately, but the manufacturer still distributes. Unfortunately that also entails paying the MSRP and not the great discount GC offers. But I have one anchored into my Squier custom P for about 2 years now, so I can tell you it's a great buy, just make sure you get a professional to screw it in, intonize, and set it up for you, otherwise you'll run into a lot of problems like i am now.
@CircusEnvy23 leoquan.com prices go from 78 all the way to 150 depending on the color and whether it's a 5 or 4 string you're playing. Get the pricelist, and than email the guy from the front page about the transaction, unfortunately there's no checkout on the website, so i dont know how it works, but i'm sure they'll help you. Happy playing man :P
@CircusEnvy23 Thats cool, gotoh makes pretty decent bridges on par with bad ass, gotoh 201 I had on my 75 jaz reissue worked great,Good to hear things worked out, peace.
If you're worried about cost, get a Japanese 62' Reissue, they are much more affordable and actually very cose to the same quality as the USA made ones, the craftsmanship is extremely good. Try the Ishibashi website, you can order from them directly and speak to a sales rep there that speaks English and handles US sales. They offer 2 versions, if you check you will see they have some that have the Alder body and USA electronics, that's the one you want. Avoid the one with the basswood body.
Do you think this is a good bass for a beginner to buy? Too expensive? I want to get a decent bass that can at least several years but I don't want a starter pack.
@amanexmisaxchan yeh, this is probably too expensive. If you are sure you are going to keep with the bass for a long time, then it is possible to justify getting this one. It really is about how much money you really want to sink into this. I would strongly urge you to look at the Mexican fenders or the squier CV series. IMO 400USD new is a good price for a first bass. But really, if you get it set up right, you can learn on anything.
These new 62 RI basses need seriously neck adjustments and action setting when they're delivered. I've seen some also have uneven frets that needed leveling too. After you get the set up done the bass is nice. New Fenders.....They all need it.

Get that bass set up, the fret buzz is louder than the instrument.

Do all of them buzz like that? Or is that supposed to happen? And is the neck comfortable?
FlipperBabies470 2 years ago
@FlipperBabies470 I personally don't like the P-Bass Rosewood necks. The Maple necks are very comfortable though. That's just my opinion though.
