I've always remembered this film...it made such an impression on me at 14....after seeing the movie, I asked for a claw tub for my next birthday only to cut the side out and made a couch for my sitting room! Thanks Patty for such an inspring performance.
Hi there- I just watched the clip from "Me, Natalie" that you have posted. My mother was an extra in this movie, and we have bee trying for many years to find a copy of it. I was just wondering where you found this movie, and if you know where I could aquire a copy of it. My children would love so much to see their Grandma in a real movie! Any information would be much appreciated!
I've never seen this, would love too and a movie where she was pregnant and running away. I think a black man helped her, don't know the name of it. It was'nt I know my mother will love you it was earlier than that. So many of her movie's why can't they put them of dvd. Also a great many old tv movies just sitting their gathering dust. Remember when they made tv movies? I think hallmark and lifetime were the last two. I hate reality tv!
The movie you are thinking about is My Sweet Charlie, for which she won an Emmy in 1970. Two years later You'll Like My Mother was released in theaters. Thank you for all the comments. Please keep checking back and leaving more great ones!
@PattyDukeTheatre Well here we are a year after the fact, did you know that both My Sweet Carlie and Me Natalie are now on youtube? Just watched one and now started the other so excited as I love Patty!
I've been wanting to see this film for years but of course no one will put it out on video for reasons I can't fathom. Thanks for posting this. I'm afraid I may never see the entire film.
@uncaroamica first movie I beleive he played the leadiing role was The Panic in Needle park after that he did SCARECROW with GENE HACK man ..then along came the GOD FATHER..I may be wrong but I think so..btw patty looks leaning against the wall like shes got a hacksaw under her dress and is about to pull it out and cut heads off lol!
In Patty's audiobiography she mentions filming this scene with this "unknown New York actor" and noted how good he was. It was much later when she reazlied it was Al.
I saw this movie by coincidence many years ago on a private TVstation and I was so thrilled!!! Why didn't this become a classic? Why don't they release it on DVD? Hello, it has Patty Duke, Robert DeNiro, Music by Mancini and it is by far one of the best captures of late 60's!!! By the way it has a great storyline which is sadly not outdated in the 2000's!
NOW that's HQ video !

Patty Duke must be really short.

Patty Duke wrote in her autobiography, "Call Me Anna" that she was blown away by Pacino's performance in his one small scene.

hey mate this is pacino's fist movie right? is he the main character or this was the only scene he appeared in?
poralentierno 3 years ago
Hi. As it says in my descrption, this is Pacino's only scene in this film. The main character is Patty Duke's "Natalie" thus the title, "Me. Natalie"
PattyDukeTheatre 3 years ago
his first debut was in N.Y.P.D., the old tv show way back in the early '60s.

That would be interesting to see, his TV debut, along with this, his film debut.

what does the girl say before Pacino says "well do you or don't you"?
It's something like "you mean like leak"
wilcox24 3 years ago
Pacino asks Duke if she puts out or not. She says "You mean at least?"

pacino wasn't very nice--then again, no one should disrespect the Godfather
