  • is that a top view or a side view of the cutting edge? (the closeup view).

    Thanks

  • @BigAgitator It is a side view cross section.

  • @BigAgitator thats a top view. dont know what that other guy is smoking

  • @Duckyistrippin Yeah, I think you're right... on both points.

    Happy turning~

  • Can someone please explain the proportions of angle of relief, speed of turning, rate of material removal, and hardness of material, also temperature of cutter and material being cut? Is carbide always better? Is faster always better? How do I know that the cutter will not grab? Will the cutter break? Or could I damage the machine? Isn't it important to hold the cutter at precise angles when sharpeing? Holding by hand may give a small radius on the face of the cutter. Thanks.

  • how the hell are you cutting a piece without the cooling??

  • @daviddevall depends of the material..but on my machine i dont know how it is called in english it last about one shift.

  • @daviddevall depends on the material, operator, speeds and feeds, type of cutting tool, depth of cut etc, etc.

  • @daviddevall LOL

  • Lathes Turn the World

  • if those are diamonds packed under that head like a bag of salt you wont be getting precision...

  • This is short but interesting if you're a person that wants to learn some about lathe's
