  • EXCELLENT JOB|!!!!

  • This guy rocks

  • great job!

but make sure the melody stands out a bit more than the accompaniment at times--ie, when the melody is in the LH, try making RH softer and vice versa.

  • Good Job.!! :]

Im playing this song at a concert.

And i cant wait till the world heres it.

Its a really lovely and peaceful song.

    :D

  • Ever so peaceful. Like your adagio tempo. Ever such an encouragement to see your video alongside giants such as Myra and Mr. Weissenberg. Cheers. Keep it up.

  • A beauty of a job!

  • Dude, i love this song, i have to play it for band class this year and im lovin it dawgs

  • Nice=)

  • I love this piece i am finishing a concert arrangment of jesu joy of mans desire. great job!

  • very nice, you played awesome, and this arrangement by Myra Hess is absolutely beautifull, the firs time i listened was in the evangelion film, the end of evangelion, and since then i'm in love with this song, i don't believe too much in jesus, but this songs fill my heart with pure joy. Thanks again Bach, and Myra, and of course benjamin for uploading this video

  • Beautiful. You have an amazing gift that I would kill to have!

  • I've been listening to Bach for a year now, and I never heard this piece before. But I must say Bach did it again, and you played it beautfully. The slow tempo makes it very intense.

  • very nicly played, shame the quailty of the recording leaves a little to be disired, but your playing is wonderfull

  • I've listened many times. Like this version better....no the 'dressing gown'.....no this one. OK maybe it depends on my mood. Somehow I usually prefer this slower tempo. They both make my mind dance and my spirit soar. Thanks for posting. You're very talented.

  • Beautiful song, awesome version! You did great, thanks for posting!

  • Beautiful, I rated it 5 stars!

  • THIS version is more powerful - the piano in the dressing gown version is not the same as this one - the reedy-sounding piano we all learned upon.

Your timing in this version is also more deliberate and powerful...this is a song not to be hurried.

What a gift this version is !

  • Perfectly well!!!)

  • Very very beautiful. I am playing this for my violin and I needed an accompaniment. When I found your performance, I was literally "wowed"!!. Your tempo is just right and it is very constant. It made it really easy for me to follow along with. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • the dressing gown feature is much powerfully.

    Though its very nice.

  • This is nice music......

  • This is such an insanely beautiful song. Thank you so much for the amazing performance.

  • That's the same version from The End of Evangelion, isn't it? (best version ever)

  • beautiful, made me cry... thanks!

  • Good arrangement of Dame Myra who used both hands tremendously well.

  • This song is so easy to relax and enjoy to!

  • Well done Ben. Anyone who succeeds in playing this as you have is pretty darn good.

  • Thanks for saying so :-)

If I ever got round to it, I'll upload a new version of it with better sound quality, less note slips and slightly quicker! Watch this space!!!

  • How long did it take you to get to this level?

Your timing is really consistent - impressively so. I really want to try and learn this. So challenging on the right hand! Ouch...but you are giving me some inspiration.

  • Hey, Boss, this was pretty cool; if there's better to come, I eagerly await!

  • very nice

  • Listen to dinu lipatti playing this. it was the last thing he played before dying of leukemia at 33yo. it is pure bliss!

  • im listening to it right now... great

  • Pure beauty. Thankyou.

  • Although the sound quality isn't great, your playing certainly is.

  • I know how hard this is to play-I've been working on it for a year, and I don't play it nearly as well as you do. And, by the way, I'm old enough to be your grandmother. Thanks for an enjoyable video.

  • Disappointed you apparently refused my video comment on this. Oh well.

    Bye.

  • Apologies my friend. I haven't been paying attention to my youtube mail recently...video response has been posted. I shall comment on your video in due time.

  • That's not quite what I meant, though I'll welcome any comments you may have on my video. :) Maybe my memory is mistaken.... I had thought I had posted my recent repost of this piece as a video comment on this posting & was disappointed not to see it here. (YouTube is not without its technical glitches however, so who knows.... maybe it got lost!)

  • hello..may i know where did you get the piano score? could you send it to me? thanks a lot or if you know where to get it online? thx loads

  • I wish you recorded the "how to play on piano" of this song, please I'd be so thanked

  • The piano sounds like a harpsichord which is really nice.

  • Thankyou to everyone for all the lovely comments. I am planning today to upload a new version (hopefully better sound quality, different piano and slightly quicker) so stay tuned!

  • Very nice!, be careful with the sostenuto, remember that in the baroque period there weren't those pedals and the piano didn't exist, it was the clavicord and harpsichord

  • I wish I could play this well! Very nice video.

  • Excellent job! Worshipful playing of the score..just as intended.

    Fine execution!

  • excellent!

  • I like it at this tempo. The lyrics are worshipful, which is the way you played it. I hope someday I will be able to play as well as you!

  • This would sound better slightly faster...

  • This song supposed to be this tempo

  • this?

  • i think it sounds best at any tempo.

i play it faster but this is sweet. NICE playing, very relaxed. just donT play it backwards!

  • It's a very difficult arrangement (and the performance indication is 'simple and flowing yet!). The tempo is a little slow for my liking, at least initially, but on the other hand, the slower tempo does allow for the notes to 'sing' more contentedly. I'll give the piece a try approaching it from that angle. :) I can relate to your sound quality woes; I have the same problem with my videos (must get better recording equipment...)

  • im playin this song soon (if i get the peice from my piano teacher)

  • Well played
