  • great story.

  • Do you happen to have the "Kenny's Bathtub" episode? The one with the little boy who gets in the quad accident

  • @kellyemerald I have it on tape, but it's not uploaded.

  • She walked out in the freezing cold in her underwear?

  • @DivinePearl I think she was wearing pajamas but her parents could have easily taken them off to try and warm her up because they were cold and had snow on them.

  • I think she didnt die she just froze and all her organs stopped when they froze and when she warmed up they started workung again

  • michael146561 maybe your audio doesnt work

  • No Audio?

  • PARENTS these days!!! they should have put her in her bed instead of leaving her by herself where she go outside with nothing on her arms and legs.

  • @tinky3ful ummm this happened in like 1990 ya know....just sayin

  • imagine being the mother

  • parent should keep the door locks up high and lock so that wont happen childen a special

  • @Jhoffler85

That can be just as dangerous.

  • umm, algood2000? theres no audio.

  • @uncatchableshadows I can hear it.

  • @uncatchableshadows works fine for me

  • @uncatchableshadows it is probobly just something with your computer because i can hear it.

  • That poor lil girl.

  • That lil Girl is proberly 23-years-old now.

  • @DimeraFan28 She is. Ignlove actually graduated high school with Brittney and was on the cheerleading squad with her little sister. Her sister was fairly popular but Brittany was a little weird and sort of seemed a little mentally slow and she was kind of a grouch. She was also very overweight and always had either pink or blue hair He/she felt bad for her because she got picked on so much but that's high school I guess.

  • @DimeraFan28 Actually she's 24. I found out that she got picked on in high school and her little sister was more popular than she was from ignlove. Ignlove was also on the cheerleading squad with her little sister.

  • 7:20 Good reason to keep the words to Christmas songs in your medical kit....

  • Was her mom pregnant? I learned stress and worry cause a miscarriage and she sounded worried and same as when you're scared worried is the same thing

  • no offense to the girl but why would the girl leave during the night looking for santa

  • I heard Morgantown I think this was in West Virginia

  • the parent should have lock the door and make sure is lock . the girl was luckly their was no brain damage

  • @Cutekitty953 cool :)

  • @Cutekitty953 noooo! CPR survival goes up when the pt is kept cool! you can read about it.

  • Is this north carolina

  • dang talk about the awsomest christmas present ever!!!!!!

  • 7:04 geez you don't sing that in a time like that! Do the hallauleah chorus why don't you

  • @Yu7Yu7Me7Yume7

If you listen...the paramedic says she wouldn't find her tube as long as they would sing to her; they were just trying to keep her calm.

  • @sweetlife031 lol i was just messsin around

  • PLEASE UPLOAD MORE VIDEOS OF RESCUE 911 I can't stand it

I want to see the one about a Miami bank robbery

  • I'm Suprised that the hospital didn't call social servces on that lil girl's parents.

  • @Cutekitty953 Luke warm water actually. If you go from frozen to hot, the body's cells will be destroyed...

  • wait, why do her eyes need to be taped shut?

  • @themaxster100 so they can warm up if her eyes r frozen stupid

  • @sunnypuppy22 a simple explanation would have been perfect

  • 2:15 Run, paragod, run! Your crew will get you all the equipment you could possibly need! You are super duper useful without all your fancy dancy ALS stuff!

  • rescue 911 new show

  • don't the parnets or friends know always do CPR on a flat surface and not on the COUCH

  • @collz1997 well when your in a state of wild panic at seeing your daughter in the state she was in, then reaching the conclution that she's dead...you kinda stop thinking about those small details...

  • How is Britnay doing now. I'm pretty sure she's like over 20 years old.

  • @hyperbaricchicken101 I actually graduated high school with Brittney and was on the cheerleading squad with her little sister. Her sister was fairly popular but Brittney was a little weird and sort of seemed a little mentally slow and she was kind of a grouch. She was also very overweight and always had either pink or blue hair. I always felt bad for her because she got picked on so much but that's high school I guess.

  • @ignlove You actually knew her? Why did she get picked on/teased? Why was she a grouch? Is it because she was overweight?

  • @ignlove I can't believe it. What's she like now?

  • @ignlove What was Brittany's sister's name?

  • 4:23 blooper! She's intubated. You don't interrupt compressions to bag if they have an advanced airway in place.

  • 2:15 running like an out of control lunatic, in the snow. Smart move, Brenda. So much for scene safety.

  • This is one of those cases where a lot of people will blame the parents, but in truth, no one is perfect, and you can't keep an eye on your child 24/7/365. It's just not possible. I think the parents probably locked the door, probably thought their daughter was safe, and were unaware of the danger. While it's their responsibility to keep their child safe, I don't blame them for what happened.

  • why did they put bandages over her eyes?

  • @Irishqueen88 in case there was something wrong. The eyes are covered in fluid which froze while she was out there. Imagine the result of her trying to open her eyes with the ice still on them, sticking the lids to the eyes.

  • OMGosh!!! i've been sayin everytime i watched these. "i wonder if there is any not to far from where i live" THIS WAS THE FIRST ONE.. YEAHHH :D

  • Duh she`s white did you expect her to be BLACK?

    Its a joke

  • 2:24 GOOD GRIEF! She's naked!

  • @Stuingtion Yep, expose all unresponsive patients with unknown mechanism of injury/nature of illness. Plus, you want to get hypothermic patients out of their wet clothes.

  • A core temperature of 80 means the patient is clinically dead.

We lost a patient a few weeks ago w/ a core temperature of 84 that refused to rise.

  • i love how in the reenactment its a doll hahahahahaha .... a creepy lokking one

  • i got a huge lump in my throat when they started singing children's christmas carols to her. miracles do happen

  • cute kid.

  • how dum do kids get i would be afraid to go outside epesicaly if it was snowing

  • The Perimedic in the white tht was singing Jingle Bells well tht is my mom :)

  • @AvasCyrus123

so the actor in the reeancatment is ur mom?!

  • Yall know the perimedic tht was singing Jingle bells in the white, well that is my mom!!!!!

  • What I don't understand is why the child didn't know to go back inside when she got cold.

  • It's not the parent's fault. Even if the door was locked a kid CAN unlock it. They're not stupid and they do pay attention to how things work.

That poor kid. I'm glad she turned out to be okay though. It's amazing how the cold kind of preserves the body so to speak.

  • Was it on X-mas eve itself of X-mas day?

  • Didn't they have those giant machines that curculate your blood in and out your body and as it goes through the machine it gets warm and goes back into your body? Those things are really good.

  • @Theultimatedemifan2 i have honestly never heard of such a machine. they could exist, but you might be confusing them with dialysis machines which remove blood, cleanse it and return it to the body. for hypothermia patients there are other effective rewarming methods. you need to rewarm more than just the blood.

  • @ICEMANof92 oh.. sorry. i think you're right. i don't know what i'm talking about

  • It's been 2 decades since this happens it will be on December 23. Today she's 23 and she probably looks back on this day. But I bet she doesn't think or talk about it.

  • wow I read about this incident in an old issue of reader's digest

  • awwwwwwwwws shes adorable this is sad

  • thats one little fighter

  • this young girl must have had an angel when she got lost in the snow i cannot imagine what parents went through seeing in the snow

  • 3 year olds do know how to unlock doors people.

  • @RachelMLinn yes they do mine is two and she can we have door knob things so she cannot turn the knob or unlock it

  • @eversolek ya thats what I was saying. People are flipping out. Lol. They are smart and can unlock doors. I wonder if they had those back than.

  • @eversolek why did she do that.

  • @tysuave why did who do what

  • @RachelMLinn That is true. When I was 3, I fell down a flight of stairs because I figured out to unlock and open a door. On top of that, I'm from West Virginia. This story made all the local papers and local TV news. So, I remember this story vividly.

  • @dickclarkfan1 oh gosh! I'm glad you were okay! and what a sad story, poor little girl had to be so scared! i'm glad she was okay. People need to realize three year olds DO know how to unlock doors..EVEN deadbolts..They need one of those things that cover the door knobs

  • I had that toy kitchen set..

  • @AuraFoxx That MOM IS CRAZY

  • OMG, This is hella sad! D:

  • the dad is hot

  • Time for a deadbolt.

  • I made a blasted mistake here. When I said they warm patients w/ hypothrermia fast, that was wrong.

They reheat frostbitten body parts fast. They used to do it slow and w/ lukewarm instead of hot water. Now they use hotter water, which warms the body part faster.

IDK what I'd do w/out my partner, but that's why we always have more than one medic. To prevent human error from coming into play.

  • Comment removed

  • @vickiormindyb Heating a person like that could kill them. I really hope that you aren't a paramedic.

  • @Jedikeri Complain about it to the doctors. They're the ones who changed the rule to heating them fast. Look it up if you don't believe me.

And I'm a paramedic, who does what the doctors tell me to do.

  • @Jedikeri Never mind the first post. I was thinking about frost bite. They used to warm frost bite slow. Now they do it fast.

  • this is one of the many reasons i hate snow

  • you CANT do cpr on a bed or other soft surface! duh-duh-duuuuhhhhh

  • i cry everytime i see this

  • woman are amazing.

  • aah this is a miricle and plus you guys should see DV0002 .avi with a girl on it and snowgirl diver cameron and sillyness and comment so hurry go look!

  • The parents should have locked the door

  • @chicke2 They probably did have the door locked, but you can turn some doorknobs from inside even when they are locked.

  • @allgood2000 yeah. at my house you can

  • @chicke2 actually they shud have done more like put her in her bed, a surrounding shes use to in the mornings, she prolly wud have just gotten up and gone to her parents room like she does every morning.

  • @chicke2 My sister unlocked the door during one of her sleepwalking episodes. Or tried to. If we weren't awake she would have walked outside, but my mom saw and stopped her.

That's why my mom finally called the doctor about it.

  • @chicke2 they did, but when she was opening the door, her hand flipped the switch by accident and it opened

  • @chicke2

she was old enough to un-lock the door on her own, my uncles cat can unlock a door like that.

  • @chicke2

I wonder if she was sleep walking?

  • @chicke2

This is why I lock my front door (we have a key) and I remove the keys and put the chain link on. My daughter ran out the house at 6am when she was 2.5 thankfully the neighbour spotted her.

It does happen though, the parents were not to know

  • @chicke2 the girl shouldnt have gone out the door

  • does Rescue 911 still show in Canada? If they put it back on the air would Canadians be able to see this? Because im 15 and i would love to be able to see rescue 911 on tv.

  • how is that even possible frozen when the sun was halfway up so thats a minimum 4 5 hours

  • 1:45 why is ambulance spelled backwards and the whole scene flipped?

  • @fluffichic It's not flipped. "Ambulance" is flipped on the front of ambulances so it reads the right way when drivers see it in their rear-view mirror.

  • @allgood wow i never knew that ;-)

  • @allgood2000 I hope that Brittany grew up to be a happy, healthy young woman. She's 23. I wonder what she's doing now.

  • @fluffichic It's because say your in the car, and you can hear the siren, you look in the mirror and you can see the word Ambulance. It's spelt backwards so that when drivers see it in their mirrors they can read it properly.

  • I hope she made a fully recovery

  • When I was younger I don't think my mother locked the door. You worry about people getting in not beople getting out. When you don't worry about people getting in you don't think about locking the door.

  • @drummer1155 Probably, but it looked like that door only had a knob lock, which still allows you to open the door from the inside.

  • @allgood2000 so why don't they use different locks?

  • @allgood2000 They should have had a deadbolt lock on the door but most doors on mobile homes do not and that is not good at all!

  • when there singing christmas songs in the ambulance, wow, thats creepy

  • Hello allgood2000 Thank-you so much for uploading this eposide I saw this one before and this girl came in luckly of being dead but I am happy for the doctors for working so hard on this 3 year old girl. I hope you are doing well and Thank-you again for this eposide Quadracer687 (Laura)

  • Today she's probably 20 years older. She's a young woman. Her parents just did what they did for Brittany because they love her.

  • there's a trailer park like this in where i live.

  • i wonder if every christmas eve her parents check on her now and are frantic if shes not in her room gettin a midnight snack or something... id just about die if whenever i have a baby she'll be gone without a hint or clue of where she might be.... so i really feel for those parents!

  • I think she was sleepwalking, truth be told. It happened to my sister when she was 4.

One night we were sitting in the dining room, I was doing my homework, my mom and dad were talking, and my sister and brother were watching TV.

Suddenly my sister walked out of her room, went over to the door and started to open it.

If we hadn't been awake, she would have walked outside in her sleep.

  • mono?

  • it was still a little light out when the girl opened the door in the middle of the night...

  • I think what happened was that she woke up around 7am but rather than waking up her parents like she usually did she went outside instead. That's why they didn't wake up until 9:30.

  • There could have been lights on outside maybe streetlights?

  • is was morning

  • I remember this segment. It aired along with Plowed Under which also I remember seeing too.

Anyway, this one is kind of a great christmas segment.

  • does this segment seem to resemble the other segment from #108 where a boy is trapped for 45 mins underwater?

  • when the door opens in part 1 the knob facing outside looks computer generated and solarized.

  • 7:04 it's the only segment where the medics are singing to the victim with christmas carols.

  • Well I watch Part 1 on my Wii. I did it my simply swapping the red and white audio thingies so that the left and right speakers were reversed. I had to turn my TV up somewhat loud to hear anything even through my headphones. However, for some strange reason, this (Part 2) does not work at all. It's not just the video doesn't load, the area where the video should be doesn't even come up. I.e. it's just a blank white space. Is there a reason why this certain video doesn't work on the Wii Browser?

  • put her in warm water

  • Today Brittany is a 22-year-old woman. Next year it'll be 20 years since this time. She probably remembers the Christmas Eve morning she nearly lost her life. I wonder what she's doing now.

  • Don't do this to ME?

    Has she lost her mind?

I lost a patient on Christmas Day, 1999 and had to tell the family their mom (and wife) was dead.

But I never thought it was about me. All you had to do was look at the woman's family to know that. Not one of them had the reaction I was expecting-the one of anger or grief I'd seen before.

They all stood there in a shock so profound they couldn't react at all.

    They looked just like zombies.

I'll never forget the Christmas of 1999.

  • @vickiormindyb maybe shes been doing this too long.

  • I believe what she was saying was that she did not want the

little girl to die and that if she died, it would affect her personally.

  • I would hope that such a death would affect you personally as well

  • You know, over the years since I have seen this segment, I have often wondered why Brittany decided to go outside in the freezing weather. That question has always been puzzeling in my head. Who knows, right?

  • My sister used to sleep walk when she was 4 and 5, and she tried to go outside3 during one of the episodes.

If we weren't all awake when it happened, she probably would have gone outside.

My mom finally took her to the doctor after that, but I thought she should have taken her before it came to almost walking outside in the dead of night.

  • One thing I thought is maybe she wanted to just explore the neighborhood. You never know with little children. They are unpredictable.

  • childrend that age aren't reasonable this is an unfortnate accident

  • So, my earphones are somewhat crap, in the sense that one of the "speakers" doesn't work, and sound only works on the right speaker. I can't hear any audio at all in this video, so, I'd like to know. Is only the LEFT speaker playing and audio, for anyone?

If that is the case, is there away of FORCING videos to play in mono, so that everything comes out both speakers, and therefore, I can hear something?

  • Hey yeah, it's the same for me too.

  • Same for me too. I'm only getting audio out of one speaker.

  • I have an HP laptop, and I had my Bose headphones plugged into it and I was getting sound out of both speakers. But, when I unplugged the headphones, I only had sound coming out of one speaker too.

  • I am watching at work, which has cheap old speakers and I hear audio from both speakers

  • Sorry about that. There must have been a problem when this episode was transferred from tape to DVD, all the episodes on the disc are like that.

  • Yeah. Of course it just has to be my luck that the speaker that the sound is coming from is the one speaker that does NOT work XD

I swear there's a way of forcing videos to play in mono, like fmt= something. I think fmt=6 is highish quality, fmt=18 is higher quality, fmt=22 HD, fmt=35 even higher than 18. I have a feeling fmt=8 may do something. I'll try that.

  • The human body can survive for a surprising amount of time when completely frozen, particularly when it comes to children. I hope Brittany made a full recovery. Brilliant story. Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow, you know good

  • Me too. I wonder how she's doing today. I hope she grew up to be safe, happy, and lead a good life.
