This second form... is actually quite disappointing... Its first form looks way harder... If only it had more attacks than a pathetic and predictable shockwave, a "head stretch" or something that is easily avoided if you keep your distance and that does not look painful anyway and spawning metroids, giving you the only mean of hurting it...
I got pwned by the first form, but if miraculously I had reached that part, I would easily have beaten it on my first try. :/
is this normal mode? cuz you lost less life than i did. I was being more careful and wasting my ammos wisely and i was losing more than you. Thats f**** angers me! hard mode is sooo angrying! and yeah, next time, i think its better to ram into the phazon area while dropping a hyper bomb to kill those minions metroids, its better than fighting them in distance and ill be under prime already!
Nope, the entire run is done on Hard Mode. You can see in the file select screen in part 49 (parts 49-54 is one big part). And yeah, at first I always used the Power Bomb to kill the Metroids, but now I just use a small burst of the Phazon Beam when I feel like it.
You have to feel sorry for Meta Ridley. He gets his wings burned off, he gets blasted by lasers, falls into a crater which then collapses on him, and goes through surgury only to be killed again.
I just got 100% scans for this on Metroid Prime Trilogy. I went through the game on Normal difficulty and I got 100% items and 98% scans. I was missing the Flaaghra Tentacle and Ice Shreikbats. But, when I started a new game on Hypermode difficulty all scans were still there so I could still get those last 2 scans in without anything else. I'm pretty sure that's a new feature - keeping all of your scans on different difficulty settings.
Yeah, they started that in Metroid Prime 3. Once you restart that file, everything you scanned in the last playthrough is already scanned for the next playthrough.
Absolutely, its an awesome new feature borrowed from prime 3. I'm kind of sad some other things weren't carried over also, for instance the map bookmarking and the battery indicator in the HUD.
It's 255 in Metroid, Metroid Prime 2, and Metroid Prime 3. Don't remember for Metroid II and Super, but probably is 255. Definitely 250 in Fusion and Zero Mission, as well as in this game.

Isn't it ironic how Phazon-base creatures are weak to Phazon-based attacks?

@DullBones
Not really. It makes sense because you are overloading them with it.

One note: No normal weaponry can hurt the Essence of Metroid Prime. Use the Phazon Beam. SAVE YOUR MISSILES!!!
Thunderchin 2 years ago
Uhh, yeah, I know that. Pretty pointless in saving your missiles if it's the last boss anyway, right? And you use Power Bombs on the Metroids.
ShadowMario3 2 years ago
Ah, memories. I loved the original Metroid Prime 1. You did a nice job on scanning everything, so how long did it take for you to scan them all?
I never played it on the Wii yet, just the Gamecube, but I've realized I'm missing out on the new controls and sounds. D:

whats the max amount of missiles you can hold at once?

If you get all Missile expansions, 250.
