Another embarrassing lost to an out of form Australian team. Should be Central Coast and Newcastle representing Australia not these 2 team that failed in our local competition. Until this year behind format is changed we will always lose. Both these sides didn't even make the top 4 this year.

timkemm i do not go for adelaide utd. I'm a victory fan all the way seeing that I live in Melb for starters and I'm grateful that a team in this great city has taken off! All I said was that if victory cannot make it past the group stage then as a follower of the A-League I think any team from Oz going through to the qf's will be good for Oz football plain and simple. Whether its AU, SFC or even Perth I don;t care!

Next time we play adelaide utd again for the 20th time in a practice match maybe we should ask what they are doing right that we are not. I never thought I'd say this but good luck to adelaide utd to try and become the 1st team from Oz to make it past the group stages in the acl. As for MVFC get rid of Merrick and ask Mr Lord to start building a squad that can challenge for local title and acl and to move forward as we have done nothing since 2007.

and why doesn't he play kaz patafta? possbily australia's greatest young talent,

for benifica, he only played one game in pre-season friendly, in aus he comes on in 70th min or so and makes a huge impact, merrick is right for keeping him on the bench late on, just like Tim Cahill

impact players are usually used because either they are not good enough to make the lineup or are not in the tactical plans or are not match fit

due to tim cahills string of injuries, he is often on the bench because he cannot play a whole match(fitness), so they use him as an impact player in the later part of a match because he is unable to start

patafta is match fit, with enormus midfield talent, at passes, creating play, pace, shooting

he could make so much more impact in 90 mins
