@goodgirl431 4 hours? Lol mama needs some rest and baby needs to be checked out. I say around an hour, hour and a half tops. Baby will be back with Mom in no time.
makes me sad! a few minutes old he should be on mommy's chest bonding, certainly not getting all his vernix washed off! (should be rubbed in, not off)... plus a bath that early will make him chilly! :(
@BeachPeach822 This video was taken about 45 minutes after he was born, so he was on my chest for a little bit and they let me bond with him before the bath. :) However-I do agree with you that hospitals should wait longer before bathing a newborn.
I understand you. Clinics really don't show much tact towards brandnew little humans...:) if you are interested, check Leboyer...the guy advocated a very gentle birth...no screaming, no bright lights...
@banjosandwashboards, You can find out extremely early now-a-days with ultrasounds, the gender. I was only 16 weeks when I found out my newest baby that I am pregnant with is a boy and the ultrasound company told me they have a 96% accuracy rate of gender guesses as low as 14 weeks pregnant with their ultrasound machines!!!
dont get the epidural. it its really dangerous i got it . and they put in the wrong spot. i was paralze for over 2 hours dont recomenmd ok./ good luck
Phew! Thanks- my husband and I know tht the baby will be awesome at soccer cause she'd kicks are hard! The doctors think she might come early but there not sure. Anyway, thanks so much for the advice- yours was the best I've had so far! Someone told me tht childbirth is exremely painful! That did not makeme feel good- but watever is feels like it is definetly worth it at the end!

I'm 8 months pregnant with my first baby- a little girl- and I'm really nervous- does it hurt really bad wen ur giving birth- please hive me the honest answer so I know what I'm xpecting :)
@789blackberry Hi! If you get pain meds (epidural), it is not that bad. The pushing part hurts a little but it is because you can feel a lot of pressure down there as the head emerges. Honestly, though, I have had worse pain from a horrible headache or food poisoning than labor pains. Hope this info helps and congrats on your baby! I am currently 4 months pregnant with baby #2 and actually considering a home water birth with this one. :)
@789blackberry Yes it hurt like hell...girl but like they said if you get pain meds epidural and so forth you'll be fine....but if you want natural........... lol........... just put it this way..... the shit hurt so bad your tears cry tears.....i'm 7 months and i' ready for it ...i mean i have to be lol........ the good thing about it....the treasure you get at the end of the pain and when the baby pops out you feel absolutely NO pain at all...kinda weird but God made it like that!
Aww this is soo cute nd gentle compared to other countries they literally put a newborn baby under the sink water nd seems like they drowning him its insanely devastating
Full head of hair!! Wow...did you have a lot of heartburn? Just wondering because I am currently 6 months pregnant and it's like the heartburn never ends! The old wive's tale is that he'll have a lot of hair. Congrats! He's beautiful :D
@JMConry Hi! No, not a lot a heartburn from what I remember. I had a VERY easy pregnancy and birth with this baby with little or no bad pregnancy symptoms. I am currently pregnant with this baby's little brother or sister and it is completely different...LOTS of bad symptoms this time in pregnancy, LOL! Congrats on your pregnancy! :)
@showgal103 I'm so sorry! At this point, all I've really had to deal with is the heartburn and tailbone pain...odd, I know but so far so good! I hope you feel better and I'll keep you and your beautiful family in my prayers :) Congrats...AGAIN!!!
I'm a childless female and I still have difficulty imagining pushing an infant that size out of my nether regions. Didn't know down under could even stretch that much!
@Kira739 yeah- some babies are born bald others with hair- but those born with hair, the hair will eventually fall out and grow back possibly a different color

That's probably the best way to bathe them instead of submerging them in cold water.
