Devo were a high concept band reloving around the idea that humans are devloving because of our relienece on mass marketing and media to tell us what to do.
Have you guys seen Mark Mothersbaugh on Yo Gabba Gabba?
Match made in heaven if you ask me, because the co-writer/creator is the vocalist from the Aquabats. For those of who may not be familiar with the work of the Aquabats, just think 90's ska version of Devo.

obviously you are very ignorant and shouldnt be allowed to speak. this shit is , well exactly that , shit. there is no musical talent here its just a faggot farting into a microphone and a faggot farting on a bass and a faggot farting on a synth, and guess what a faggot farting all over the production of this album. Faggots+Farts+crappy music=DEVO
Think what you want about it. The fact is this is one of the first music videos made - well prior to 1980 I believe. Suffice it to say DEVO (Mark Mothersbaugh in particular) were ahead of their time in using "technology". Were they popular? Not necessarily. Were they innovative? Most definitely.
If you don't like Jocko Homo, check out Beautiful World - arguably their best video production.
Try and keep an open mind - or at least choose your words a little more "creatively"...
i saw these guys in a concert at the Palladium in NYC in 1979, when concert tickets still cost about 12 bucks! They were selling those yellow Devo overalls in the lobby but I was just a teenager and couldn't afford it. It was a cool show and their first album was great, their later stuff not as good. I hadn't seen this video in almost 30 years.
justice uses the beginning in there song stress. I'm a littlebith disapointed. I really like justice and now i discovered they just got it from these guys.
Well yeah, it was an excellent sampling job that completely added to the song and gave it an even more dramatic and nervous tone. Justice's choice to sample this was amazing.
Fantastic! I love it! I realy love all of Devos early videos, like this one, because they were more like these weird underground musical short movies than conventional music vids. These guys were amazingly original and creative!
I'm probably the only freshmen in my high school (or even my city) that's crazy obsessed with Devo. Lol. I love this video. It's one of Devo's best. I prefer this version of the song over the album version.
Devo is in my opinion the best new wave band ever. I saw them in 1978 at the campus center ballroom in Hawaii and it was so great. Some bands are just so unique that there is no competition. Except for Styx Mr. Roboto of course (I keed! I keed!)
I disagree with you. The first true Sci-Fi music style came with famous German group KRAFTWERK. And B-52 wh,ch I like a lot, are far from being all synthetic at all!
The day is here we are near yesterday is in the rear token apprecian for the past the future will never last a broken arm needs a cast I keep a sandwich in my back pocket I never eat it But make a new one everday I throw out the one I made the previous day The window is fogged don't let your mind get bogged down
We are de-evolving. It's apparent in so many aespects of everyday life. I think it's nature's way of keeping humans from destroying the planet and itself.

what I think should be called Science Fiction

I disagree with you. The first true Sci-Fi music style came with famous German group KRAFTWERK. And B-52 wh,ch I like a lot, are far from being all synthetic at all!
WorldWildWanderer 3 years ago
There was also Bowie, Tangerine Dream, Frank Zapa and The Residents. The B-52's had kinda a neo 60's kitsch thing goin with them.

And Kraftwerk and Devo are also considered the early roots of Techno. The real, true, Detroit sound, not the stuff that gets called "techno" today.
