Think what you want about it. The fact is this is one of the first music videos made - well prior to 1980 I believe. Suffice it to say DEVO (Mark Mothersbaugh in particular) were ahead of their time in using "technology". Were they popular? Not necessarily. Were they innovative? Most definitely.

i saw these guys in a concert at the Palladium in NYC in 1979, when concert tickets still cost about 12 bucks! They were selling those yellow Devo overalls in the lobby but I was just a teenager and couldn't afford it. It was a cool show and their first album was great, their later stuff not as good. I hadn't seen this video in almost 30 years.

Devo is in my opinion the best new wave band ever. I saw them in 1978 at the campus center ballroom in Hawaii and it was so great. Some bands are just so unique that there is no competition. Except for Styx Mr. Roboto of course (I keed! I keed!)
