So where is the video from before this showing exactly why, i love protest videos, they never show what happens before something like this, and the reason is 99% of the time they did something to deserve it, the people are catching on to these protesters EDITING tricks
We already know that, but why must the incredibly selfish middle class assume itself the great discoverer of these truths? Student politics don't change anything - student unions are constitutionally bound to be completely useless and only a step to add to a CV.
SuperKittyKat85 - What 'serious harm' was the guy that was walking away from the building likely to bring about? You restrain people who are trying to destroy property, are threatening/attacking others, or are deliberately avoiding arrest by running away. The guy featured here was doing none of those things.
MurrayTheMac: Yes, the police presence and the way it effected the atmosphere and proceedings of the protest was highly undermining. This was not an accident. Please reflect.
This ladies and gentlemen is a display of appropriate restraint techniques - you will be taken to the floor to prevent serious harm to you or others. It is what they are trained to do. I cannot see any attack by police here!
Congratulations. You've managed to weaken our position substantially by making us look like complete and utter loons.
Nothing says "we're here to make a serious statement to negotiate against the cuts" then getting us waving anarchist flags and being wrestled by police in the papers.

Things i have learned on this thread:
Reasonable = bundling people to the ground who are walking away from you, presenting no threat and committing no crime.
Unresonable = having an anarchist flag. anyone with political views deemed objectionable by internet randoms should be assaulted by riot police.
If anything the cops have done the anarchists job for them, showing the state as nothing but management's outsourced goons.

This is an absolutely disgusting, unprovoked assault by police officers against a peaceful protester.
I'm appalled at the behaviour of Sussex Police.
Shame on them, indeed.
