Yes I live in California and they have re-opened Captain EO starring Michael Jackson at Disneyland. I has been opened since April 21st, 2010 and will stay open until further notice. So if you are coming to California anytime soon the attraction will be open. Good luck, I remember seeing it the 1990's and it was still a blast to see MJ doing his thing in 3-D.

Just saw it last weekend. All I can say is, wow. - It really feels incredible having the attraction back. And what it no longer has (no piercing strobe lasers, no smoke effects) it makes up for with some new surprises thanks to the "Honey I shrunk the audience" enhancements left behind. But really, the sight and sound of MJ back in 3D is what gets us happy, and all 3 times I saw the show the theater was packed and the crowd was cheering. Welcome home, Captain!

it is great to see him back at disneyland but it is sad we had to wait until this wonderful man died to appreciate his genius. wouldnt it had been awesome to have this back when mj had the baddest publicity of his life? where were the singers, actors, film directors and so on, when mike needed their support? thank you all the fans for the unconditional love you brought to the king of pop. no wonder he loved you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to work at Disneyland in the mid 80's, 3rd shift, after the park closed. My boss told me that Michael Jackson came to the park unannounced a day that I was working. He was on Main street shopping in the clock shop. People started to recognize him. He ran out of the clock shop and into a restroom that was just outside of the shop. Security had to get him out. They told him that he had to let them know he was coming so they could set up security for him. Poor guy :O( I miss him.

If Disneyland was smart they'd keep Captian EO at the Disney Kodak theatre indefinitely. This film was much more enjoyable than the "Honey, I Shunk The Audience" film.

Note to my comment below, If Disney was series about keeping this ride for years to come why didn't they make it 4-D like it was in the 80's and 90's. Now it is only 3-D. I like the ride but I don't think it will last past 2013-2014

Disney had the theater reconstructed for "Honey..." and they wanted to bring "Eo" back ASAP. they did not have time to reconstruct the building AGAIN....especially if they were not going to leave "Eo" up all that long.

It has been announced to go to DWorld, but when has not been decided.

however, since it has only been said and nothing has been started, this is subject to change based on what Disney thinks is best.

They did remove a couple of memorable effects but the new one they added is so great that it actually makes you feel like your watching it for the first time. Though you might want to be in the first few rows to really feel it.

Hate to break it to all the MJ fans, but Disney said that they would keep the ride until the popularity died down. Don't get me wrong, I like the ride but I think this ride will stay for 3 to 4 years at most and I don't think it will come to EPCOT. I also think the popularity will drop 50% by the beginning of 2011, MJ's like-able popularity went up after his death but I think the "fans" that became "fans" after his death will no longer be interested in this after spring 2011.

Walt Disney Co on Thursday dashed fan speculation that it plans to resurrect the Michael Jackson 3-D film "Captain EO" in its theme parks, saying the 1986 short movie is dated.

"There aren't plans to bring back 'Captain EO' at this time," Disney Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger said at a news conference.
