@skiny998 what fuckin music world do you live in dude? cause there from seattle? Jimmy Hendrix is from seattle where they grunge? all you have to do is open your ears and listen to Jerry Cantrell
@BlindMelon1993 It's nothing to do with where they're from. Alice in Chains is a grunge band. Look it up on Google, type in 'is Alice in Chains Grunge' or something. They where a big part of the grunge movement. No need to swear man, it's not good language to use. Trust me when I say Alice in Chains is a grunge band.
@skiny998 lol listen to there MUSIC sure some songs like DIRT, RAIN WHEN I DIE and LOVE HATE, LOVE sound Grunge and just listen to damb that river, godsmack or even some of there old shit like, I CANT HAVE YOU BLUES, they had HUUUDGE metal influence as you can hear. but call them was you want ...i HATE the word GRUNGE!
@BlindMelon1993 Seriously, go online and do some research about Alice in Chains. The majority of fans would say they're a grunge band. Metal bands are bands such as Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Machine head, Motorhead and Pantera. Grunge in Nirvana, Tad, Green River and Skin yard. Now which one of those groups is it easier to associate Alice in Chains with? You may hate the word grunge but the majority of people would say Alice in Chains is grunge.
@streetphysician So true. And Radiohead isn't grunge no. But they are hell of a band. I don't like there new post dubstep stuff though. there very expeiremental
i agree with Kurt, "Give Me Back My Alcohol Dammit", "In your eyes I'm not worth it anyway so screw you all interventionists & other tough love fukfaces!" PPL Piss me the fk off & alcohol makes me happy.... My liver might not like it, but I don't g.a.fk so fk it all. No one lives forever anyway... I'd like to go out after a few nights of drinking, doping, h & xnax yeah (just speaking for myself in my current mood, tomorrow i might go to an na meeting so don't respond with bullshit)
@calanero Eh... Sorry, but I don't think this song is about how great beer is, dude. It's more about neglectful parents who are never satisfied with their kids, treat them like crap and then still wonder why they turn out wrong (for example, start drinking) The lyrical speaker is basically telling his parent that they lost the right to act like parents (and confiscate stuff that definitely doesn't belong in the posession of teenagers) when they failed to do anything but crush their offspring's
@calanero self-esteem. Tough I do not completely Agree with you, I'm also annoyed by these puritsts- but this song is something deeper than that, you know? You can tell by the way he sings - you don't get that emotional/intense about BOOZE. Please, drink as much as you want, but respect teh art. Sorry if I get too worked-up about this, but thanks to my "father", I know how much the feelings that are discribed in here SUCK, so please don't belittle this by reducing it to being about booze, ok?
@Uzingniga20 and Creed, and Stone Temple Pearlets...... Most the awesome bands that made it were Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Melvins, and some others i can't recall at the moment because i'm a negative creep and i'm stoned.
Hahaha, what the hell man? I remember when I first brought this record home and listened to this song, and I couldn't make out the lyrics; I thought he was saying "Give me back my apple-hop.".....

Kurt Cobain was saying "Kill Neil Young" in this song, because Neil Young claims to be the "Godfather of Grunge" I like his music, but FUCK NEIL YOUNG and FUCK LABELS..... Kurt was the greatest no matter what!!!!!!!!!
I think Chad did a GREAT job on the drums?! Imagen.. All the tracks were recorded same day, and re-recorded the next day.. They only kept "Blew" the way they recorded it first time.. Would like to hear the original tracks - they were tuned down as hell! :D
Simply brilliant in it's sorrow. (And, yeah, I always thought he was singing "Give me back my Albert Hall", go figure.........) I loved everything this band did. Everything!

@DanglinSausage I guess it's called talent and/or modern art. Also, being "pissed off" (as he said he was when he wrote this) can make you quite productive.
the 20th anniversary of this album will be released on november 3rd :) it comes w/ an exclusive 48 page booklet and bonus live tracks! i can't wait to get it!! :)
Bleach is easily my favorite album of their's. It's the grungy-est. As the continued to release albums, I feel like they became progressively poppy-er, which is ok, they are still really great, but I just love the original grunge sound they had.
Haha, yeah, the Nirvana songs that mindless teenagers put on a pedestal as the be-all and end-all to music and which used to prevent me and still prevents a lot of people who would enjoy Nirvana from listening to Nirvana. I often wonder if Kurt Cobain regretted writing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for that reason. Not that I don't like it, but it's immensely overrated.
@jonfender123 ive just downloaded the discography and treating ''Bleach'' as my own personal ''Bible''!!!!!! You so right in fact spot on! Early Nirvana is sweet!
@Yrrats I guess it's because people don't bother to look more into what other songs the band has. Also people tend to be trendy and choose not to listen to what the media doesn't present to them. Others simply and honestly don't like the other songs.
@jonfender123 That's a pity. I'm a maistream music listener myself (Beatles, Doors, chansons). At first I just liked Unplugged, then I bought Nevermind and listened to the more 'poppy' songs and more and more I started listening to the screamier ones and learned to appreciate those. It's good to learn to like songs you wouldn't listen to automatically yourself. Some songs on In Utero however I still don't like;-)
@jonfender123 i know what you mean, every time i ask, everyones favorite nirvana song is teen spirit or one of the covers like lake of fire... total amateurs....
@heezysteezy Its not an opinion if everyone he knows listens to nevermind its a fact. If 90% of your friends only listen to nevermind, then 90% only listen to nevermind . How is that an opinion? He didn't say everyones friends only listen to nevermind. How are you going to disagree, do you know all his friends and what nirvana albums they like?
In my eyes, I'm not lazy In my face, It's not over In your room, I'm not older In your eyes, I'm not worth it CHORUS: Gimmie back my alcohol(6x) Gimmie back my(2x) Gimme back... Heal a million, Kill a million Peel a million, Feel a million Heal a million, Kill a million

it is impossible to pick a favorite nirvana album ....but bleach has been my favorite during several parts of my life
imgoing2hellcom 2 years ago 4
Bleach is easily my favorite album of their's. It's the grungy-est. As the continued to release albums, I feel like they became progressively poppy-er, which is ok, they are still really great, but I just love the original grunge sound they had.

Most people I know who listen to nirvana only listen to the first half of nevermind up to polly.
jonfender123 2 years ago 58
Haha, yeah, the Nirvana songs that mindless teenagers put on a pedestal as the be-all and end-all to music and which used to prevent me and still prevents a lot of people who would enjoy Nirvana from listening to Nirvana. I often wonder if Kurt Cobain regretted writing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for that reason. Not that I don't like it, but it's immensely overrated.
s0cietysreject 2 years ago
I agree.
It seems that the "nevermind"
album is all anyone listens to.
My favorite album is In Utero.
Maybe Bleach.

@jonfender123 This why most people think Nirvana is "overrated".

@jonfender123 ive just downloaded the discography and treating ''Bleach'' as my own personal ''Bible''!!!!!! You so right in fact spot on! Early Nirvana is sweet!
jjamo5 1 year ago
@jonfender123 Why is that?
Yrrats 1 year ago
@Yrrats I guess it's because people don't bother to look more into what other songs the band has. Also people tend to be trendy and choose not to listen to what the media doesn't present to them. Others simply and honestly don't like the other songs.
jonfender123 1 year ago

@jonfender123
i must say i disagree.
but that's ok, we all have our own opinions.
heezysteezy 1 year ago
@heezysteezy Its not an opinion if everyone he knows listens to nevermind its a fact. If 90% of your friends only listen to nevermind, then 90% only listen to nevermind . How is that an opinion? He didn't say everyones friends only listen to nevermind. How are you going to disagree, do you know all his friends and what nirvana albums they like?

Nirvana didn't like Bleach much because Sub-Pop forced them to conform to a single song image.
