  • I need help. :( I eat 2,800 calories a day, only do minimal weight-lifting (no cardio), and am still losing weight!!! I want to gain!

  • Muscle weighs more than Fat---so that's probable it. Try going on a strict diet without sugar/carbs or fats. And have tons of fiber. :) good luck! you can do it.

  • haha I gained weight in the past month too...people tell me "You don't look like you weigh xxx" well..that's because it's muscle! I can fit into a pair of jeans that were too tight last month, even though my weight increased by four pounds. Yay! But it could be a good REAL blog topic since most people don't think weight gain can be a GOOD sign!

    LOL!! Keep it up! Forget the weight loss...you want to gain weight if you are stacking muscle!!! Get another dexa scan and monitor % body fat and watch that go down...and if you want more muscle less fat! Cut the carbs and eat more protein and drink lots and lots of water like a gallon or more a day!! And watch your weight go up and your muscles grow big!!

  • Sean, how long have your been transforming your body fat into muscle? As I can recall for a while now. So, I believe the 15lbs it's possible to be from just muscle. Upper and lower body muscles. I think you shouldn't freak out about that but if you have the desire to be under 200's you should go back to the weight loss program you started off from.

    I think you look great. Keep it up.

  • oH....LOL! YOU CAN'T TRANSFORM FAT INTO MUSCLE...FAT IS FAT AND MUSCLE IS MUSCLE! You can lose fat and build bigger muscles...which is what Sean is doing.....

  • Keep fat loss as a priority, not weight loss.

    Kidneys need tons of water to do their job. When the kidneys don't get enough water, their performance drops. When the kidneys start slacking the liver has to pick up the slack. When the liver is doing the kidneys job, it's not doing it's job of converting stored energy (fat) into usable energy.

    Drinking more water means more weight fluctuation, but it also means more fat loss. Make sure your are getting plenty of water.

  • How is your clothes fitting. I gain weight but a lot of times it is muscle. How do you look. I am a scale slave too but look at how your clothes are feeling. Don't give up!

  • Why people should stop weighting yourself. Your body weight can change each hr of the day. heard once even 10-15lb's weekly. I took my weight before starting my workout. I have not been on the scale for last couple weeks. Take a before pic and weight yourself. Each month or 30 days repeat it again.

    You'll see that the weight overtime is no big deal. Do you think a pro. bodybuilder weights himself? Not as much as you think. Besides have you ever seen a 99lb big ripper guy? looking good stopit :)

  • You work in a gym and are surprised by the weight gain? It's all in the muscles, I'm sure. Wait for the dexa scan to see where you are as far as fat % goes. Better loose fat and gain muscle than the other way.

    Only sure way I know to loose muscle mass fast is stress with not eating. Muscle tissue is easy energy for the body compared to fat......

    Not recommended.

  • What supplements are you using? Good supplements to use in conjunction to diet and exercise that help with weight loss are:

    Good thermogenic, I use one that also has NO

    CLA, helps promote muscle gain by using fat to create energy for muscle recovery/repair

    Some also say Green Tea, although I don't drink tea so I can't verify it

    You look good, you work hard, you seem full of energy. 15lbs of muscle gain (at least) seems a lot in a month but with P90x i wouldn't be surprised.

    Have you checked out UndergroundWellness here on Youtube? He has great health and fitness info too. He has a different take to than mainstream medicine. I love all the great users on here!

  • It is not about weight, it is about lean body mass and the best measure of that is bodyfat % and how your clothes fit. Forget the scale and keep using that dexa scan. It sure doesn't look like you've been gaining fat.

  • I am so sorry to see you this stressed out about the weight gain. I'm sure it is VERY frustrating but Sean...you look good. Your arms look HOT! Like...DAMN! Honestly, lol. I'm sure it doesn't help take away the frustration but I really hope that something gives. But yeah, go by how you feel and not about the scale for a while. See if that helps.
