Consoles have alot of catching up to do if they want to match the performance of pc games. So it's evident...that the next generation of consoles will have to be PC based, which is to say they will have to have an operating system on par with windows 7 and be able to support multiple monitors. Looks like blue ray has won the format war for HD content so the next xbox might have a blue ray drive as standard like the PS3.

The ati 5850 cost $320, a higher end motherboard costs $250, a 500 watt power supplys is $60, a Core i7 Processor 930 2.80ghz costs $320 and just 2gb of ddr2 ram is $60 (one of the most expensive setups but still.) thats $950 without including ram, a big enough tower and a moniter. a 360/ps3 is $300... which is a better deal?

I saw a couple videos of it used on Bad Company 2, and it still looked impressively good. It sure isn't the best card right now obviously but to be honest, it's been quite a beast.

It's coming to PC. And besides. The console version of CryEngine 3 looks like CryEngine2 on Medium settings. Simply because a console with only 256 MB video RAM cannot hold all the 3MB 1024x1024 textures. So you cannot see too far in the distance in the console version. There is a lot more in store for the PC version.
