The video is inspired by Salvador Dali's work. He was a surrealist, meaning his paintings and sculptures didn't make sense, but looked cool all the same.

Dudemeister, I do not know what Tuomas means by this symbolism, but I interprete it like this:

In the vid the ship is a flying one, and the old, tired captain wants to release it to the sea where it belongs again.

The trees and leaves falling symbolise autumn, death, and end of things. But as the old seadog is smiling, it is not a sad thing. He just bids a friendly farewell for things past. In a bittersweet way.

Some may also see bodhi tree symbolism there, referring to transcendence.

Its a good song but anette is not comparable to tarja. tarja vocals were so powerful from her oprah background which gave the symphony sound even more power. all in all new nightwish s good but not great while i respect tarja wanting to try her own thing and i just hope she comes back to nightwish one day.
