theres some dork kid "reviewing" this on youtube but he dont know shit. its a great pic, great story and cast. shot on location in boston and the money still hasnt been found. if you find it, grab it! it starts wacky, then does get more realistic as the heat is on. thanks for the vid and trivia about the family. i remember the filming

The movie itself did run the story line but certain scenes were fabricated. It was six days before the statute of limitations that the additional members of the crew were caught. Sandy Richardson was a nice guy and John (Jazz) Maffie was the last surviving member who passed in 1987. I do have The Brinks Job movie on VHS but want to get it on DVD. And on a personal note: I think that Paul Sorvino played the character of Jazz Maffie very well.

I've driven by that building in Bostons north end and always think of the robbery and movie that were made there, some filming took place in Stoneham Ma, I remember some of the local businesses were allowed to keep the 50's style signs after production was complete, they remained up for several years after~

I remember one of the big criticisms of the Falk movie was that they promoted it as a whacky crime caper, but the movie turned serious as the crooks grated on each other, kind of a PG "Reservoir Dogs". Beautifully filmed, though. Deliberately evoked Edward Hopper.
